We are Four seniors traveling in a very small motor home from Mt. Rushmore (Keystone, SD) to Denver, CO. We wanted to break up the trip. I have never even heard of Wheatland, Wyoming, but this was a welcome respite. Our rooms were large with coffee setup (a rare thing during our trip), two queen beds, refrigerator, and microwave. The room had wireless WiFi (secured) and several charging ports for this techie. The room was clean, but will probably need some updating in the near future. The only complaint that I had was the little square bed pillows. They look cute, but they are too soft to support my head. I would have loved to have a choice. I usually travel with my pillow, but we flew into Denver to pick up the motor home and my pillow didn't fit in my luggage. This may not matter to anyone else. To minimize Covid exposure for us and their staff, the hotel gave us a list of foods to select for breakfast. We called the lobby in the morning and the hotel prepared the food and packed it to go. I thought this was a great idea. One amazing thing was our check in experience. Check in was easy and quick. As we completed check in, the clerk gave us the cutest little basket. It had water, fruit, chocolate mints, and a muffin. They made us really feel welcome and special. Want to feel special, stay here. read more

This place is nothing like the fancy photos. It's an old 1976 dump. Arrived in 99 deg weather and the room was really hot. They didn't cool it down prior to arrival. AC is an old window unit and it barely works. Gonna take hours to cool down. UPDATE: After laying in bed and sweating at 9pm, I gave up. I checked out and drove home. This place was a big mistake. We were passing through town driving cross country and just looking for a place to sleep and picked this hotel for the price. What a pleasant surprise starting with the friendly and cheerful front desk staff, then unexpectedly received a welcome gift with waters, fruits, and snacks. The final surprise was the room which was nicely decorated and furnished, great tv and cable service, fridge& microwave. STAY HERE!!! This place is affordable, clean, the rooms are spacious, all of the employees and staff (from housekeeping to the front desk) are so kind, friendly, and helpful, and the lobby always smells like fresh baked cookies. What's not to love? They give you complimentary snacks to welcome you, and the additional heater in the bathroom is such a nice touch in winter. I have stayed here a couple of times now on my journeys, and will continue to. This place is an absolute gem! read more

My car broke down on a trip to Montana and I had to spend the night at this BW in Wheatland,WY. The two women at the front desk (Bev? Dev?) and Heather both took excellent care of me. (Bev? Dev?) gave me great recommendations for food and she had a lovely smile! Heather gave me open access to the coffee machine and we bonded talking about dogs so naturally I love her. Both such sweet ladies! They helped make what was an otherwise very stressful situation for myself and my two dogs so comfortable and fun! We also received gift baskets for myself and my dogs which was so cute! Clean rooms, nice breakfast and great rate. I believe this place must be under new management as I stayed here last year as well and noticed a huge improvement in quality. It was easy to see that the team took pride in keeping the rooms clean. Gloria, the housekeeper, left a note welcoming me and the front desk called to check if the room was ok after I checked in. We are on our way to Denver and decided to stop here for the night. It's right off the interstate so it was easy to find and get to. They have lots of discount rates so make sure to ask about those. Sheila checked us in and was absolutely wonderful! Very polite and professional. The room is clean, quite and cozy. There was a towel decoration that had shampoo, conditioner and soap inside it that I thought was very neat. We were even given a gift basket filled with goodies. They also have free breakfast from 6:00-9:00. This was a great find and I would definitely stay here again!! read more

Very unpleasant dealing with you. Had a reservation for two rooms on Thursday evening, the 9th. Late Wednesday evening developed Pancreatitis from gallstones requiring hospitalization and surgery. Had to cancel bison hunt. Called your establishment to cancel rooms, was told "to late, I will be billed." Called Best Western customer service, they also called your establishment and was told the same. I have stayed at many, many Best Western's through the years. Not any more, you and your policy took care of that.... Things must be really hard up for you thay you needed the cost of two rooms so badly..... It's sure not the Cowboy Way.... Nor the Wyoming way...... read more

This place looked sketchy as hell at first and I was honestly a little put off but in for a penny in for a pound, right? On checking in we were greeted with a gift basket w/ 2 bottles of water, fresh fruit, muffin, granola bar, mints and graham crackers! NO ONE does anything that thoughtful or awesome anymore! Kudos #1. We get to the room and it's dated and a bit stuffy and the ac doesn't work. Call front desk, he calls maintenance, we move to a new room, ac doesn't work there either, maintenance dude arrives (like, a super awesome church going biker who was the most polite person EVER) fixes everything relatively quickly and Voila! AC! Kudos #2. There are awesome hotel kitties that live there and if you're lucky you get rubbed on or some pets, I was only able to feed them. I'll take what I can get. Kudos #3. There's a Pizza Hut practically next door that is pretty on point if you wanna scratch that itch. Kudos #4. Comfortable beds! Kudos #5. Cable channels were plenty enough to entertain us and hiccup-less WIFI. Kudos #6. Worst thing I can say is that the Keurig machine in the room didn't work but the lobby coffee was yum in the morning when it was needed. We grabbed fresh fruit for breakfast but they did have hot options. The people were super friendly and even though it's not the nicest or newest hotel, the people and the treatment we received is what made all the difference in the world to us. For the last 2 years I have been staying at a variety of motels and motels for my work. The motel is decent, nice gift basket and room seems clean. Hence the 2 stars. -3 stars for charges and checking in. When I reserved a room they needed a card for the reservation, but say that it will not be charged, then $100 is pending on my card, which means until they release it, I can't use it. Then I'm using corporate lodging, usually my corporate card gets direct billed and I have to put a credit card on file for incedentals. For the first time ever, I am charged 10 dollars on my credit card because my wife is with me. They wanted a corporate lodging card for her also and because she doesn't have one, they charged our credit card the 10 extra dollars for the room, which they call the room to tell me this, not at check-in. Needless to say this will be my first and last time I stay at this hotel. read more

What a surprise. We picked this place because it was motel style. Love that. Pulling up to your own place.. Some of you understand. This place is family and bike friendly. The staff kicked ass and they really made sure we were taken care of. They offer a bike cleaning area. We all thought that was pretty cool. And there's a really clean pool near the lobby. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I travel 4-5 days a week for business and have acquired status with all major hotel chains, best western included. I made the reservation and around 9am the day of the reservation the weather (lots of snow and wind) caused my meeting with clients to cancel. I immediately called to cancel my room. I was told I would still be charged. I do understand a cancellation policy but when this is due to weather it is poor business practice to still charge. Especially during COVID when business is down. Sketchy looking place with outside doors to the rooms from the photos I saw. There is a Heartland Inn & Suites right down the road that looks much nicer and newer. avoid at all costs. read more

Chose this hotel because it allows dogs. Was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness. Fruit basket & welcome card from the manager in our room (we are just regular people - not VIPs :). We were going through Wyoming going to stay in Cheyenne, called and all the hotels were full. Decided to stay in Wheatland, and it was a great choice. The lady at the front desk was super super nice. She told me about all the amenities and foods available. It is a little dated but still nice. Loved the complimentary breakfast in the mornings. I would recommend it, its clean and comfy and having super friendly front desk people is always a plus. read more

I unfortunately had to stay at this hotel while on business in Wyoming. The room itself was what was expected from a motel-style set up; aka, it was trying to be clean but actually wasn't. The computer system was down upon arrival so I had to wait until it was up and running before I was actually able to pay. The worst part was the flies. At least 50 flies were buzzing around my room, their carcasses falling on the floor as I killed them. Pretty certain there were maggots in the air conditioning unit (the front desk manager agreed with this hypothesis) causing an incessant stream of them entering my room. I was actually with two other colleagues in two separate rooms who also had flies. When I went to the front desk with my friend to request another room, the lady at the front said that they only had smoking rooms available, then proceeded to give me an enormous can of insect spray. That pretty much sums up the entire experience. I'm disgusted. I'm pretty sure the 'gift' basket they give you upon arrival is more like a 'welcome..... we're sorry' basket. read more
