I couldn't have been more pleased with my stay at Twisters! Guernsey is a no traffic light town. Very peaceful and quiet. There is also so much to do in the area, besides Fort Laramie! Guernsey State Park is a MUST see! It's not far at all from Twisters. Probably about a 5 minute drive. The room I stayed in was cozy. It had everything I needed, cozy bed, and own bathroom (HUGE) with shower. The room rate was very reasonable as well. I was impressed when walking into the room. They provide some complimentary water bottles and some fresh baked goods (cookie and brownie) from the restaurant/bakery directly downstairs. It's those little gestures that mean a lot! One of the owners will communicate with you prior to your arrival. A code will be provided for the back door to the lodging area. It's located on the second floor. You will need to walk up a black metal staircase at the rear of the building to access the lodging floor. Another note is that it was quiet. I slept well and dozed off at a reasonable hour with no loud partying or people making noise. I loved that there was a lounge area right outside the room I stayed in. There were two cozy chairs with pillows and a table to rest your coffee on while reading a book. I used this area to map out the day's adventures while drinking my morning coffee. Also, the restaurant downstairs serves breakfast. Twisters will give you breakfast coupons for a free entree. Any extras that you order are additional charges. The entree and beverage are free. This goes with your stay, of course. Also, their meals are big! If you order the pancakes, plan on skipping lunch! I highly recommend the breakfast burrito! The owners are very friendly. It should be noted, the lodging (hotel) and restaurant are the same business. Don't forget to grab some goodies from the bakery before you depart. They provide wonderful options from cookies to sweetbreads. Loved that they have a bakery with homemade sweets. I highly recommend this place! I plan on returning for 4th of July weekend. I want to get back to Devil's Tower and marvel at the cosmos at night. Looking forward to returning!

Flash forward three years - not only did we come back but this time, we stayed the entire week! We were so glad we got to experience the latter part of the week at the ranch - inclusive of trapshooting, archery, a day-long mountain ride, and an overnight camp-out! It was really humbling that the wranglers remembered us from our previous visit, too; we really felt a part of their family! Speaking of the staff - they are phenomenal and VERY accommodating! The on-site chef is AMAZING and provides gluten free/vegetarian/etc. options during the buffet-style meals; the wranglers ensure you are comfortable at all times; Lori at the front desk was very responsive via email with my pre-travel questions; and housekeeping made our cabin looking fresh every day. All were very welcoming and friendly. Vee Bar puts together a very well-organized itinerary for the week too. As a planner, I personally love this. They have multiple activities for all activity levels and you're more than welcome to "skip" an activity if you wish. From horseback riding to hiking, they truly have something for everyone, and it's very evident they put a lot of time into creating a well-rounded trip experience. The reason why we chose Vee Bar initially (compared to other dude ranches) was due to its proximity to the Denver Airport. Now, I will gladly continue revisiting due to the GREAT experiences and memories made there. If you're wanting a true western experience, I couldn't recommend Vee Bar enough. The rooms were remodeled more recently, the TV is as small as I expect from a budget accommodation, but what makes up for it is the staff (really nice) and the constantly restocked breakfast area. They have an indoor pool (a tad cool, but sufficient) and hot tub (cozy but fine, with new water) and the only Tesla superchargers in this part of Wyoming, if anyone needs.
