It gave a pleasant feel. This is also the area you check-in at. The front-desk staff were very friendly and walked us through how to use our key cards and where things were located. The room looked like a dorm room, as expected, with bunk beds and lockers. We also had a private bathroom and shower, which I was pleasantly surprised about. We couldn't get the A/C to work, so we had to keep the windows cracked at all times. It would've been nice to be able to open the window completely for more airflow as it got stuffy/warm often. The beds are a place to sleep... don't expect much comfort. Loved the basement common areas! So much space and unique places to sit. It is also a bar at night with karaoke and lots of people mingling. Overall, it was a clean and fun hostel experience.

The Wombats at Budapest was 10 times better and that's the reason I chose to stay here, but I'm disappointed.

She told me that orders are to be placed at the bar. I asked her if the kitchen was still open, and she said that they also don't serve food. Jesus.... But the manager on duty acted like I was lying about it when my face was already severely swolen and my eye was already starting to bruise over. She kept asking me why I didnt call the police and the paramedics. I told her that I did but she clearly acted like she didnt believe a word that I was saying.. the manager on duty made the whole thing so much more uncomfortable and acted like I was completely out of line transferring to a different st christophers inn because I no longer felt safe at the location that I was at. I did end up going to the hospital a few days later. I had a fractured cheek bone, a major concussion a cracked rib on one side and a broken rib on the left side of my body. (((Update))) St Christopher's inn at the villiage responded and keeps saying that the event allegedly happened, insinuating that im lying about the the whole incident. Which is exzacty what they did when I first came to them about the incident. This place is completely unsafe, Do not stay there!!! Buses go from close by, and Fulham Broadway tube station is about 10 minutes walk. Certainly not the best hostel I've been in, but you'll struggle to do better on a budget in London.

Later another employee gave me 4 more tokens because I should have gotten multi use privileges. Secondly, in the morning the toilets were working...but then towards 1030, the female toilets were all plugged and the toilets on the male side smelled of poop since there was no water going to those toilets on the first floor. Ended up using the toilets on the ground floor. There's no elevator unless you're going from the ground floor to the -1 floor so I had to go up a few flights of steps to get to the first floor so pack light. Location is good. Less than a mile away from the Elephant and castle tube stop or you can take a bus to and from the front of the hostel. I took one from the hostel to the Waterloo station.

It's also walking distance to the brewery part of town. The staff are friendly and accommodating and I had a very positive experience. The hostel itself, as many noted, is very noisy. Despite wearing earplugs, I could hear and feel the vibrations of the music below. The rooms are a tight squeeze. The night we arrived I really needed sleep and it was pretty loud and smoke was coming in through the open window. Closing it made it muggy and hot. The next night I just decided if you can't beat them, join them! And joined the people downstairs. It was fun! Would be hard to stay a long while and don't recommend for light sleepers.

The last night I was there she was so drunk she moved from bed to bed on fresh covers only just changed. Those sheets/duvets cost the hostel money to clean, so I reported her moving around to unassigned racks. Instead of being happy I had their back, the front desk put into the notes on MY name that I was a problem and that I had done that! I did not know it until today when I tried to book a stay this July. The Operations Manager told me he could do nothing to remove the wrongful accusations against me. He could rent a private room but not the more affordable dorm bed. The music in the pub is so loud now, it's like St. Christoper's Inn--it's all party and no comfort now. This place has rapidly descended into to a miserable place to rent a dorm bed.

The staff that I interacted with (front desk, concierge, housekeeping, bartenders) were all accommodating and eager to please. The hotel was very clean and modern. The fixtures and furniture were modern and stylish but still comfortable. The bedding and linens were clean and fresh. Housekeeping will come in and straighten your room each day, but they don't change the sheets every day. They will replace used towels with fresh ones which was nice. Right in the middle of London, it is easy walking distance to many, many things - museums, pubs, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster cathedral, and many more. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!
