The amazing diversity of programming and depth of this station can catch almost anyone's ear. What is refreshing, is all the people playing the music are volunteers, who do not have to follow a corporate format. You will not hear a loop of the same songs day after day. Each 1-4 hour show has their own genre theme, but beyond that can play anything within their theme. I am always surprised by something new every time I listen. The one issue that is troubling is that their federal funds have been cut by 200k recently. Since it is a non-profit station, they rely heavily on listeners to help support the station, and especially during their funds drive this month. I really hope it can continue over the years. Check their website for programming and take a listen. It's one of those rare gems on the airways.

Line wasn't painful. No food, drinks or bags. There is a coffee shop next to the line up area. Hint - think about what you wear to show up. If you dress like a bag of donuts your going to be hidden in the back row. If you want to get on TV, and your in a group.. all wear same outfit. Makes you move to front of line. E.g. group was on family vacation and had T-shirts made, yep, front of line express. Take a look to see who is going to be on the broadcast so you have an idea of who is passing you in hallway and getting out of the car service. Good hosts at a GMA. Entire cast was friendly and went out of way to thank people for attending and watching show. I wish it would have had Oprah, might have gotten a new car rather than the book an author was giving away. All in alll - it's an NYC bucket list- plenty of shows to watch live, just got to plan ahead and go with flow.

I signed up to be one of the people in the crowd of the GMA audience during a fall trip to the Big Apple. Attendees have to be in line by about 6 in the morning, and for my taping, they didn't let us into the studios till about a little after 8. Once you get into the studios, they spread you around and if you want any shot of being on camera, you have to try nudge your way to the front or bring a big colorful sign to wave frantically in the air. Sadly, I failed on both these attempts so the most that could be made of me on TV was that person whose top of the head would peek out between a sea of people every once in awhile. There goes my attempt at my 15 minutes of fame. Shucks. The whole taping process is pretty interesting. You don't actually get to see the full taping. For certain parts of the show, like the weather segment, one of the cast will come down and do their bit. At most, it was about 5 minutes for each segment. The cast was very friendly though and when the tapings would break, they would come and say hello to the crowd and take pictures. For my particular taping, there was a peformance by Kenny Chesney. I'm not a big fan of country music, so it wasn't as entertaining for me. But he played a few songs for the crowd which is pretty cool. By 9AM, everything sort of wraps up and you are on your merry way to enjoy the rest of your day. Remember to TIVO or DVR the episode so that you can watch to see if you made it on camera. I first heard about the Fuse studios back in 2003 or 2004, I attended the television show called IMX. This is what the show was about: n attempt to "extol the fun of the stock market," players would sign up online and be given a set amount of "IMX dollars" in order to buy stocks in artists, albums, videos, and TV offerings, which could be traded and sold short or for profit online. With such profits, players could win prizes like video game consoles, vacations, surfboards. -lets say if G-Unit just came out and the stock was the IPO of the day, you could buy at $40 using your IMX dollars on the IMX dollars on the computer but you knew right away, something like this would skyrocket into the heavens because they were getting popular. The hosts were really cool and they interact with the crowd. They played videos as the crowd is there in the studio. -Also years later, also attended a show called The Daily Download. Same hosts as the IMX days but different format all together, more TRL, mtv stlye. -It was very cool though, crowds would get a very intimate feel in the studio and mix and mingle with the various studio guests from music, tv and movie industry. I had met and interacted with many stars including Motley Crue Drummer Tommy Lee, Damon Dash (kind of an asshole in person to everyone), Jonathan Davis from KORN, Slipknot, Jada Pinkett Smith, Flyleaf, Chad from Mudvayne, Michelle Trachtenberg, Dania Ramirez, Paris Hilton, Young Jeezy, Ludacris, 30 seconds to mars, and many others. I enjoyed the show alot. I must have been on there for 2 years straight as a regular guest. The show ended in late 2006 at least the live audience part. -The crowd was sometimes offered dvd releases that were new for the week, Sneakers giveaways just for yelling a screaming on television and various contests like would you want to go on tour with said band (one time it was Mondo Diao). I don't know how I did not take them up on that offer to go around Europe with the band. Basically, as with most streamers you can cancel, re-up for a month or two, binge anything new and then cancel again. I hung around for their re-boot of Frasier (IMHO the best sit-com of all time) and witnessing the train wreck made of the updating, it was beyond sad and unnecessary. Without the sterling writing and tight ensemble cast, it's a quick hook and curtains for the good doctor. I also love Star Trek but you can't build an entire streamer around the reruns and a geriatric Jean Luc Picard. Finally, it was also interesting catching a few episodes of the original Hawaii Five-0 and Mission Impossible. My nostalgic tolerance for bad acting and hackneyed plots is fleeting and reminds me that a fond boyhood memory is often more pleasing than a real time reminder. Paramount+ may live long and prosper but it's in dire need of more rotating content. Dr. Frasier Crane deserved better... kudos to the rest of the original cast for staying away. Five stars for the convenience and excellent picture quality.

If they can review Christian Bale on Yelp then we can review Blue Bloods. It's a really good show if you take it just for what it is which is a cop show. However the morality and politics involved are not so good. It's an extremely Republican show and even though it occasionally tries to balance things out like Law and Order tries to do, it always represents left-wing points of view as simple-minded and naive and sometimes even downright malicious and irresponsible. It always represents right-wing points of view as understandable and normal and sympathetic. Cops are heroes and rarely have bad intentions. Despite this if you take all politics out of it it's a watchable show and me giving it such a high rating should be proof that I don't have bias against things just because they are extremely right wing - and when I say extremely I mean ex-treme-ly. For example this show paints black lives matters as an unnecessary petty overblown campaign by people with agendas. It does not paint cops anything like the ones we have been seeing in the news in real life. There are two sides to every story, but this show tells one side of the story much more convincingly than the other, and belittles the other side constantly. The acting by Republican stalwart Donnie Wahlberg is excellent and he's very watchable. Bridget Moynahan is gorgeous and a great actress. Her daughter is really pretty and a fun character. Jamie Reagan sometimes steals the show as the unheralded youngest brother. Tom Selleck brings it all together with his excellent portrayal of the commissioner. I checked out the studios where they film this stuff in Greenpoint. It was pretty cool. Being an actor seems like a glamorous life but having visited their place of work, it's really just a warehouse in the industrial back streets on the Brooklyn-Queens border. Still sounds like lots of fun.

one of my favorite shows and i really dont like nyc base shows as i see enough of the city on a…read moredaily basis but blue bloods is a well written and acted show which includes mr ted selleck , lou cariou, bridget moynahan and marky marks brother donnie who i once met at a new kids on the block concert in new haven(took my buds little sisters cause he refused to go due to the shame it might cause him if his gym buddies found out). ok blue bloods is a show about 3 generations of nyc cops and their families which includes a sister d.a, ,school age children and a supporting staff that are just as interesting as the main characters. the studio is in greenpoint brooklyn which borders queens and its really a big industrial warehouse with a bunch of sections which includes set stage, sound stage, lighting and props, staff offices, etc. i was once given a brief no pics allowed tour from a security guard friend who no longer works there so he cant get in trouble and its really weird and amazing how with all the wires , cameras, lights, and other film gear in a small space its looks so real when watching it on tv. i guess its the magic of a film studio and i never expected a older magnum pi in greenpoint brooklyn.
