The people are warm, welcoming and friendly. The music is more modern but they don't lose their roots and still play hymns. They pray together, encourage each other, share stories constantly to keep things 'real' and relevant... without being a "Relevant" church. There have been times if something is happening they will stop what's going on to focus in on a current urgent need, like someone going to the hospital with an emergency situation, etc. They have so many things for singles, couples, youth, married, divorced, widowed, families and more. There are always opportunities to grow and be involved. The counseling ministry is solid. My husband and I did our marriage counseling here. It was honest, challenging, and encouraging,.. making us more prepared to face our next chapter as a couple. There are many small groups, ways to give back to the local community, a wide variety of classes like financial peace etc. Every summer there's a huge VBS (week long vacation bible school) for kids and I've never seen it done better. There is a great school through 8th grade as well. Through life, birth, celebration, death, brokeness, healing, this church (including pastor) is there to be real and to live life with each other if you want it. You can come and go as you please. Nothing is forced but offered with open arms. As with any church it is what you make it, but if you want a family you have one waiting for you here, through the good and the bad.

As soon as people found out I was a visitor they went out of their way to welcome me and help me understand what was going on. I even had one gentlemen offer to send me some books on Orthodoxy. After the service I attended their "coffee hour" downstairs and had a wonderful time getting to know the members. Thank you! I will be back.

St. Gertrude's is a fully traditional independent Catholic church, unaffiliated with the local diocese. If you are a traditional Catholic seeking Mass or the Sacraments in this area, look no further. This is the place. If you are interested in learning more about the traditional Catholic faith, you are very welcome here. The clergy as well as the parishioners will welcome you gladly and answer any questions. There are four Masses on Sundays, plus daily Masses, ongoing special devotions, Sunday catechism classes for children and for adults, and many social activities. There is plenty of parking in a private lot, and the church complex with social hall, gift shop, restrooms, is all on one level so there is no difficulty for handicapped access. There is also a gift shop/bookstore open every Sunday (or on request at other times) with an amazing selection of all things Catholic. See you there!

It is through the clergy's hard and tireless work that the truth of the Catholic faith is maintained and spread throughout the world; it is a beacon of truth to a dark, dark world. All things here tend to the glory of Almighty God as they should in a church and uplift the soul to heavenly thoughts. The parish life here is absolutely amazing and fills one's life complete with the liturgical year of Holy Mother the Church. It is my joy to attend whenever I visit Ohio. If you want truth - the truth of the Catholic faith without error - there is only one place to turn in the Cincinnati area, and that is St. Gertrude the Great Church. I visited Christ the Savior church for part of an assignment and I felt immediately comfortable with the congregation and inside the actual building; a rare find for me as usually I feel out of place and awkward in places of worship. For those who aren't familiar with the religion the services last quite a bit longer than any other Christian services I have been too; we were there for almost two hours on a Sunday morning. Almost the entire service is sung and the rituals of the religion are beautiful. If you're moving to the area and looking for an Eastern Orthodox church to practice at; I'd definitely recommend this church. Father Kostoff is an amazing guy and a great teacher, he is passionate about the religion and the church and it shows. If you aren't part of the faith, I'd still recommend checking it out...new religious experiences are beneficial for everyone!

The senior pastor Mike is funny and relatable and preaches the Word of God. We have very much enjoyed the sermons we've listened to and even enjoyed the guest pastors. Their website is very user friendly and has a lot of resources. We are currently getting ready to do their online Christmas devotional, which I am excited about. The fellowship there sounds like it's amazing, they're always talking about neat things they do as a church family. We are very much interested in going to visit them one day. If you're in the area, I would definitely check them out!
