They sell kitchen gadgets, beauty products, gourmet foods, home wares, candles, toys, clothes, umbrellas, books, and yet still manage to function as a pharmacy as well. The pharmacists here are very knowledgeable and experienced, thanks in part to being situated in a large medical centre. The same phenomenon, though, means that it can get very busy and the wait for prescriptions can be a while. Their large volume of customers after prescription medicines also means that they run out of things. It doesn't mean you can't get your medicine, just that they have to send someone away to get it from storage or something and that, too, can cause delay. Although it fulfills its requirements as a pharmacy perfectly well, I more often use The Mill Pharmacy as a place to browse or buy random little things while I'm killing time before an appointment. At least if your script is taking a while there's not shortage of things to look at.

The pharmacy does a roaring trade owing to the amount of people constantly going in out of the building, either to see a fertility doctor or ear, nose and throat specialist or for some dreaded orthodontic appointment. This means many come to the pharmacy for scripts or medications, but this isn't what draws me in to this pharmacy. I love my pharmacies. I particularly love pharmacies that sell my favourite brands of make-up at cheap prices, and this is one of them. They get you in by filling the flanks of the store with make-up deals and before I knew it, I came out of here with a new lipstick, foundation and powder - having intended to buy nothing. They weren't my normal brand but a fairly cheap brand the chemist offered - and the colours were fabulous, matching my odd complexion (fair-skinned, dark-eyed) fairly well. (This is a rare win for me.) There's always a lot of bustling about in here but the staff are very friendly and won't keep you waiting if they're in the middle of chatting to someone else. It's like they have a sensor for potentially impatient customers, and are able to be in three places at once. Jolly good job!

This little pharmacy reflects the street ambience perfectly. It's a tiny place, but they've got all the basics typical of a chemist; a heap of beauty and bath products, and that counter up the back from behind which the pharmacist peers at the customers strolling around their domain. Don't expect them to stock wild and exotic products, but certainly all the essentials can be found here.

This is particularly true given its location (the hip Oxford Street). You would expect something flash and new. This has the vibe of a pharmacy from about ten years ago, where the products are all related to medical issues, not impulse buying. (Eerie.) If you're ordering something on script or that needs a label, you might wait a while here. There's usually at least one other person in this pharmacy waiting for their product to be "written up", and that's enough to add ten minutes onto your wait. I almost want to complain about having to wait but the staff are simply too nice. You can easily chat with the counter staff and wile away the time, though if someone's parked on the street waiting for you to "duck in and out" they might not be so happy. The size of the pharmacy means the products tend to be average in terms of price, so I wouldn't look for a cheap deal here.

You pretty much get the same from the IGA, regular home staples for comparable competitive prices. There's a handful of fancy deli choices, however, this would be due to lack of demand in this area. The winner for the locals is that the pharmacy is opened until 8pm at night. It's conveniently placed between Stafford and Everton Park and the prices for medication aren't too inflated in comparison the discount stores. A Pretty good concept for the area.

The huge store is set out beautifully, with shelves carefully stocked, well thought out lighting and every item you could possibly need from a chemist. It took me a while just to get inside properly, as right by the door they have a few heavily discounted items which waylaid me considerably. Once inside I found plenty of space to walk around, something I highly prize in shops, although I'm not exactly sure why. Not only is it a nice atmosphere, but as the name suggests the prices are great. I wish I lived closer because if I did there is no doubt that this would become my go to chemist.

I usually buy some sprays and products for my skin to bring back with me. I also like the fact that their packaging is still in glass bottles (not great when you're transporting it across the ocean) and the dark glass helps the product on the inside keep better. Because the stuff is so natural, they do tend to expire and when they do the smells and aromas change, so use them up before the expiration date!

So I told him what I was after and he said that they didn't have the tea, but had raspberry leaf capsules, so i wouldn't have to go through the bother of making the tea. Fantastic I thought! He then went on about when his daughters were babies and I was stuck there for another few minutes, but it told me this guy was the owner of the store, and he definetely knew his stuff. Which is always a fresh air from asking the staff who never know anything. This is a great place to get your supplements no one else has, and they are all natural therapists and owner worked... so you'll always be getting highly personal service. Forgetting about the search for Quinoa grain, I ended up going to Go Vita to buy some fish oil supplements and as I was about to go to the counter to check out... There it was, Organic Quinoa grains. As it turns out, there are a lot of great organic products you can buy here that would be great to cook with. Not just cook with, there are plenty of products that are great for skin care like their goats milk soaps, I love it. Feels so great for my skin. The staff are very nice. They really informed advice and genuine care for their customers. Given that they are professional naturopaths also gives me peace of mind knowing that their advice isn't just wishy washy chatter, but actually sound information. Go Vita is a pretty good place to go, to stock on some hard to find supplements, vitamins and other healthy products.
