I hired better life home cleaning for a deep clean of my house in St Louis after renters moved out. They were able to get me on the schedule for my desired date (it was about a week after I called them). Shay, the cleaner, was prompt and provided an excellent service. The house is indeed very clean and I appreciate the hard work! The regular cleaning service was $250 + an additional $250 for the deep clean + 20% tip (of course) = $600. Highly recommend. I was really impressed with the cleaning staff, Christopher, Kris and Charity. They literally worked their butts off for 4 hours in a Deep Clean of our house. The house has not been this clean except for when we moved in. They also sent me a beautiful flower arrangement for my birthday! Some of the positive accolades: Thorough and detailed cleaning and terrific attention to detail. Professional and pleasant, very polite, trustworthy and hardworking. I appreciated the company's communication, including appointment reminders, arrival notifications, and follow-up surveys. They used eco-friendly products they they produce themselves. leaving a fresh, clean smell without harsh chemical odors. The company has received numerous awards and recognitions, including "America's Best Customer Service" which we experienced firsthand. Nice cleaning crew, but I later noticed some things were missed. I had inside the fridge cleaned, but the top of the fridge itself wasn't. The backsplash in the kitchen hadn't been wiped down. Someone was mopping my hardwood floors and I asked what type of cleaner it was- I was told it was water. Another member of the crew stepped in and said it was a solution the company provides. Okay, then. My place was completely empty when they cleaned it, so I expected the deep clean to include washing things like 1. tile 2. top of the fridge. I'm not the type to stand over people and give directions - I expect the employees of a service I'm paying for to know how to perform their job duties. Show me what you can do. BLM has cleaned our home for more than a year. In that time we've had quite a few different teams clean our home. Today we had the best duo we've ever had. Rebecca and Dee left our home spotless. I'm probably the pickiest person I know so, for me to say this is meaningful. The team took care to leave the floors streak free, fold the edge of the paper towels, literally polish the entire bathroom and left the whole house smelling fresh and clean. From my observation, it appeared that they really enjoyed their work. There was an authentic team oriented approach from the moment they walked in the door so, having them in our home was a pleasure. This is the only reason I've deducted a star is that we have also had less than stellar teams By less than stellar, I'm not implying poor, just below average. Certainly no where close to the A-team we had today. If I owned this franchise, I would encourage the entire staff to emulate Dee and Rebeca in every way. Basic things were not done: -bathroom vanities'tops were not cleaned -bases of toilets were not cleaned -chair rail was not wiped -dining chairs were not thoroughly dusted -top of refrigerator not wiped, as promised The crew was very kind but it seems they are stretched too thin. Even with our menagerie of pets and both me and my husband working from home, she is efficient, considerate, and highly professional. We appreciate the COVID safety precautions they have put in place, and love the fact that they use green chemicals and reusable cleaning materials. We have an opportunity to provide feedback after every cleaning, and while we've had no issues, I have no doubt they would immediately address any concerns we might raise. When I first wrote my poor review of Better Life Maids, the owner/CEO wrote an apology to me here saying they were sorry, but my home was just so so dirty that they couldn't clean it (it's not - never has been). They subsequently edited that review to lie and try to trash me here by saying that my home was filled with pet feces and it was so unsanitary that it couldn't be cleaned. They've since taken that comment down. Now, trashing a former customer and lying about the conditions in my home in a public forum IS one way to run a business, I suppose (I don't have pet feces in my house - except in the basement cat litter box). The simple fact is that the quality of their work deteriorated and deteriorated - so I fired them. That they came onto Yelp and edited their original comment to add a lie just adds to the fact that I made the right decision. If the owners/managers of this company actually did believe that this condition exists, it's proof that haven't actually been in my home. Better Life Maids came on Friday for my first cleaning. I was home so that I could introduce them to my dogs. I was nervous because my pets are very important to me. The young women (Team 7) came in and I could immediately tell that they were dog people! They greeted my puppies with affection and I knew by watching the interaction that my dogs would be ok when the team came in the future while I was at work. They also set me at ease with regard to the cleaning service. They were friendly but also professional. And when they left my house was fantastic! They were really good at first but their service has declined. I use them monthly and 2 months ago, they forgot to clean my basement all together, so they had to come back on a different date and redo it. Then last month, they missed my first floor bathroom and so I had to call them so they would clean that as well. When they came back to do the cleaning, one of the maids was trying to play with my dog who was in his kennel. My dog doesn't really like males, but also was remaining pretty calm despite people being there. Apparently though, the maid accidentally opened his kennel, letting him out and was unable to get him to go back in. He did text me, but I had to leave work to fix the situation, which was annoying. In addition to these issues, I used to get reminder emails a week prior to my appointments as well as emails about the services being done and complete and I have not gotten these in about 3 months. I have called and complained about this and all I get is that they don't know why I am not getting them. The positives of this company is that they use better life products which are all natural and initially when I was looking, they had the best price. I am now questioning though if that is worth the extra hassle. read more

I had Better Life come do a one time cleaning before I have house guests this weekend, and every step of the process was easy and pleasant. They're the only local company I could find that would give me an instant quote and let me book service online, so I was happy from the start. I was also able to get a cleaning 2 days after the time I was booking, when other companies had told me they were booked out for several weeks. The online payment process and customer portal were easy to use, and the company was super responsive via email when I told them I thought I had accidentally double booked. My cleaning team texted me when they were on their way to my apartment and I gave them details on where to find the key, and they were super friendly during that interaction. I came home AMAZED. They went totally above and beyond what I expected from a standard cleaning, and even did some light organizing and removed some bags of trash I had sitting in my kitchen. I came home expecting everything to be clean of dirt but still needing to do a lot of work on the place, and honestly I will be ready for my guests with maybe 15 minutes of my own work after what Better Life did with my apartment. I am extremely pleased with their service and while I was going to just have them clean the one time, I think I'm going to start having them come do regular maintenance cleaning too because I could use the help and they knocked it out of the park this time. The service I had received from Better Life Maids was seriously disappointing and made me a bit angry. The team lead (I respectfully will not mention her name) had called the day of the appointment to confirm she was on her way. I reminded her of my dog and I was surprised that she had no idea that I had one. That made it evident that she didn't read the notes I had provided to Katie when I scheduled my appointment. Additionally, the work-completed checklist sent to me after she had left reflected she arrived at 10:20. She had signed in with security of my building at 10:35. I'm going to check with them to find out what time she actually signed out. On my way home from work, my expectations were high and I was excited about getting the cleanliness that I had read about other people having online and also because I had read the checklist of what was suppose to have been done. Unfortunately, reality didn't meet expectations. What I had found instead were dirty floors that weren't mopped that still had residue from before she and her partner had shown up, dust and pet hair in plain sight under the dining table and on the chairs despite me specifically requesting that they be cleaned, piles of dust under my desk and all over it and behind mirrors, and opening a closet door revealing a floor with dried snow drippings that had not been touched at all. They're supposed to sweep and mop the floors including the floors in closets. I couldn't believe that 2 hours worth of work had been done to my place especially given that it's only less than 1000 square feet. I was charged $150 for this! Seriously, what the heck did they do for that long? This was supposed to be a deep cleaning. What a joke. If this were a deep cleaning, what type of work would be done on normal cleaning days? I'm not a difficult customer. In fact, I'm easy to please. But I think that when the team that's re-sent to do a spot check were surprised themselves by the crappy job that was done the first time and having to profusely apologize saying that it was an embarrassment to the company, having to take photos to send back to the office to confirm my findings, and then ultimately, having to redo a deep cleaning, all of that speaks for itself. I REALLY appreciate that the other team lead, Brandy, apologized on behalf of the company and took accountability for this person's awful work. This was the first time I had ever used a cleaning service and was even interested in having recurring cleanings because of other reviews.
