Update: Had another 3 hour cleaning today and James S. Completed my entire list and even a couple extras! My oven and microwave are spotless and our kitchen is never this clean! All the cleaners I've ever had at Green Angel are friendly and thorough. James appeared to be training someone else today and I heard him give him several tips and tricks for some tough spots. I have used so many different house cleaners -- individual and services. Aside from my original cleaning person, who is no longer doing this work, Green Angel is the absolute best! They are responsive, easy to work with, willing to do additional things and are always on time. I always feel my home is very clean after they leave and they spend the time necessary to do good work. Other services I've used do the minimum and get out of your house as soon as possible. This is not how Green Angel works -- they take the time to completely clean your home and it is much appreciated. Our experience with GreenAngel went from "meh" to outright frustration with the realization that their focus is not on the core of the business -presumably cleaning homes- but rather a constant upselling of non-existent "service additions" to drive up the bill. Right out of the gate, their rates are on the high-end in St Louis but the use of non-toxic cleaning products was attractive to us so we accepted that higher rate. Then, the deep clean that we were required to have at the start of the contract turned out entirely meaningless. It just tagged on a significant extra charge but the home was kept well and so there was nothing to really deep clean. Oh well, we thought, that's just the cost of starting up. After times that we were away for vacation though, we would again be charged for a deep clean on return as "standard policy". This made no sense since the house and facilities were in fact not being used which made the after-vacation cleaning an easier job ... still, at a higher price. Only after pushing back strongly both by email and calling in (= wasted time getting unnecessarily riled up) could GreenAngel concede and accept a standard clean was appropriate. And while our regular cleaning lady was friendly and mostly did an okay job, after one year the company started coming with feedback that our house was actually too large (only 2000 sqft) to take care of in a 1/2 day, it all took too much time, and therefore rate should be hiked up. We had already noticed some slacking off and that time was being lost on repetitive cleaning of non-essential items (e.g. ceiling fans that were not used in winter, blinds that really don't accumulated dirt every 2 weeks). At the same time of being formulaic on what they clean, GreenAngel also applies a set of pretty restrictive guidelines of things they cannot clean; kitchen cabinets or the fridge for example. We repeatedly suggested to work of a priority list of items that actually need cleaning so that at least the important stuff gets done. For example, we have one floor in the house that is barely used but GreenAngel insisted on cleaning it anyways every single time. The parts of the house that are actively used (living, dining, kitchen and master bed & bath - 5 room total), GreenAngel claimed, cannot be cleaned within 4 hours. This is supposedly a "professional" cleaning organization! But what really took the cake was the cleaning just before Thanksgiving. The holidays messed up the schedule so (against better judgement and despite trying to find alternatives for our regular) we accepted to schedule in a substitute cleaner. On arrival, we discussed the priority list and made sure to convey that -with thanksgiving guests on their way- it was important to us to have the downstairs kitchen, dining, living cleaned as that was going to be the entertaining area (with other parts of the house being lower priority). On our return, the substitute had already left and had done exactly the opposite by focussing on everything BUT the downstairs; underneath the dining room table had not been cleaned (we have a toddler, so it can get messy there as he's learning to feed himself) and leaves were still spread throughout the entry way. The play pen had not been touched at all. We could not escape the feeling that this was yet another passive aggressive move from the company to signal their desire to hike up prices. At this point, Shelly - the manager / business owner - came into the picture and she was in our experience the most frustrating to deal with. She clearly mastered the art of the shit sandwich; wrapping any "no-can-do" or "we should hike the rate" message in meaningless drivel of how good her business is and how everybody loves their work. All smoke and mirrors, considering our family was left hanging with thanksgiving on our doorstep, and just in case you're wondering ... NO we cannot say that we can name an example of that supposed cleaning service excellence. GreenAngel would be well advised to clean up their act if they want to claim being a professional organization. If we had to provide a summary, GreenAngel is overpriced (we have comps for this area and a simple google will tell you what an regular clean of a regular 1 family home should average), constantly tries new ways to up the bill, works through a standard set of items with a complete disregard for a priority list, and only our regular did an okay job. We found the whole experience tiresome. Who has the time for the constant back-and-forth with the back office? We found an amazing new cleaner within a week who does a fantastic job, understands the concept of a priority list, and just gets on with it without the drama for a much much better rate. read more

We have been Green Angel customers for 8 years and consider our current housekeeper Promise a master-class professional. When we moved to the area, I interviewed 5 or 6 cleaning companies. William was the only one who acted when I cautioned him about a broken glass on the floor and confessed I hadn't found the box with the dust pan in it. He went to his car and brought in a newspaper and car brush to fix it. The others saw it and stepped over it. For all 8 years, we've had consistently good experiences. After calling several companies, I contacted Green Angels. William was fantastic to work with...professional, quick to respond, informative, and so kind. William set up our first appointment the next week with Dee. She did such an amazing job we requested to have her for all our biweekly cleanings. She is a delight to work with...prompt, friendly, and great with our 2 year old Labrador who follows her everywhere. We've had a lot of chaos in our house the last couple of months (a wedding, college kids returning, MIL moving in with us). Please note: I have very high expectations. I hired Green Angel to deep clean my new house before moving in. I was initially impressed with the great communication with their coordinator. He worked with my tight timeline and we discussed what I was looking for in depth. During the cleaning, I thought the ladies were slow and too chatty (I was present). When you pay per hour, this isn't okay. I also thought their definition of "deep clean" was more like a regular house cleaning. I had to request that window sills be done, inner brick wall dusted, fridge wiped out, and then pay extra. Once they left I had racked up hundreds of dollars. AND then, found that none of the kitchen drawers were wiped out. The whole point was to avoid cleaning before unpacking but that didn't happen. read more

They just did a deep clean of our whole house and fridge. We're not cooking at home for the rest of the week to keep this pristine condition. We've done bi-weekly cleanings for about 14k sqr feet of Kitchen, office, living room, 2.5 bathrooms, and a bedroom. They've always done a great job in just one hour with 3-4 people, making it super convenient if you're the type of person who'd like to be home while they clean. They've even bent over backwards if I had a random meeting pop up to match my schedule that day. Bonus points for getting along with our dogs. ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! I mean, seriously. I had a rather unfortunate situation - I just moved into our new house (still renting) and the previous renters were at leat 4 college age guys that absolutely trashed the place. The home owner lives out of state, so he thought it was cleaned when we moved in, but it was far from it. The kitchen in particular was disgusting. It looked like the guys had a food fight and then left the sticky mess all over the kitchen cabinets. There was such a residue on everything that I didn't want to put anything away and couldn't use my kitchen. Before I moved into my house, I wanted to make sure it was impeccably clean. Although the previous owners did a great job of leaving the house in tip top shape, I still wanted the peace of mind that everything was super clean. I consulted Yelp, and Green Angel Cleaning seemed to offer everything I wanted: great prices, thorough cleaning, and the most important part -- they use environmentally friendly (and local) products! Safe for animals and free from harsh chemicals. Awesome. I called and spoke to Stacy, the owner. Since I waited so late to book a cleaning appointment (oops!) she was booked pretty solid on the day that I needed her, but she was SO nice and understanding and promised to work something out on the day that I needed her. Sure enough, she came through! I simply left a key out for them and while I was at work, the 'Angels' came and did their thing. I arrived home from work to a house so clean, it sparkled! The angels really did a great job, and didn't miss a single spot. I loved that they cleaned out the cabinets and the inside of the refrigerator, freezer, and oven. Green Angel is the ONLY cleaning service I will ever us in the St Louis area! I was searching for a good company to come and do a one time deep cleaning at our apartment. Basically, I wanted the hard wood floors swept and treated, the baseboards cleaned and some dusting. I spoke to about 20 different companies and the average quote was $75 to do the work I wanted. However, when I spoke to Stacy, the owner of Green Angel, I was very impressed with her business and decided to get a full cleaning and spent $150. We are very eco and animal friendly in our home and one of our concerns was that any cleaning company that came in would use chemicals that we would not normally use in our home. Green Angel uses all natural, green, non animal tested cleansers that are made locally as well! TOTAL WIN!!! Stacy sold me on the VALUE of her company, as well. The other companies quoted about 1-1 1/2 hours to do the floors, baseboards and dusting. Green Angel, on the other hand, quoted 5 hours to make the place shine from top to bottom! Stacy explained to me the meticulous detail that they would give to my home and they delivered. They did the floors, walls, bathroom, kitchen, cabinet facings, inside the microwave, top of doorways...everything! So the value that I got with Green Angel was much better than any of the other companies I spoke to. When choosing a company to work with I want to know what they will do when things go wrong because realistically things come up, bad days happen, etc. On the day that I got my cleaning there was a family emergency within her company which impacted her day and some minor details were left undone at my apartment. I spoke to Stacy the next day and she handled it very professionally. She told me what happened without making excuses, apologized and came out and fixed it IMMEDIATELY! If you want a company who gets the job done right, who uses green and animal friendly products and provides amazingly friendly service then Green Angel is for you!
