When a doctor prescribes an APAP, my assumption is the individual will use it nightly going forward. But for whatever reason I have not yet received my mask replacements. Contacted them and they said my doctor hadn't specifically stated that I need ongoing supplies. That they have to contact the office for another order. Are they kidding? If that IS true, why wasn't that done when they received the order a few months ago to prevent delayed delivery of supplies? Now they say that after the order is received it will take 3 days to process and a week to ship supplies. They're more concerned about checking insurance boxes than they're concerned about patient needs and customer satisfaction. Further in calling the main number, I made an appointment to replace my BiPAP because moisture was coming out of the SD card drive. They said they couldn't get me in immediately, but that their office in South County had an Air Curve 11 on-site and they could assess for repairs or replace as needed. They made the appointment for me. When I arrived in South County, the person evaluated my Aircurve 11, determined that water was indeed coming out of the SD card slot, but told me she had no Air Curve 11s on site. So she sent a message to the Kearney Mesa office inquiring whether They had extras on-site. They said they did. She asked if we could come and pick one up because I needed one immediately since I am using it as ASV while awake, too until they finalize the order for my ventilator on the back of my wheelchair. The people at Kearney Mesa said to come on up and that they'd have it waiting at the desk. We arrived. The front desk person was aware that we were coming, but didn't have it at the desk. There was only one other person who was in the waiting room. We waited more than an hour for that AirCurve 11! They must've not updated the information in the system from back when I was using a CPAP either because they sent me the wrong nasal mask as a refill. I paid for expedited shipping shipping and they said they would overnight it that day, and they sent a different mask, but it wasn't the correct one. I called them to exchange it and they wanted me to pay again for expedited shipping. I told them I paid expedited shipping the first time and they sent me the wrong one. I asked if they could apply the money I previously paid for expedited shipping and they confirmed they could. I received a message via text saying overnight shipping was approved. I received it 10 days later. Then they didn't contact me 30 days later for refills of the nasal portion of the mask. So I called them. They refused to use the payment that I spent the prior month to expedite the shipping. I got that shipment 14 days later. It didn't include the filters. So I had to call them back and order the filters and anything else I was qualified to receive. They said that they could apply the $18 overnight to my refill order. I said that would be great since the last two times I didn't get the right order or the expedited shipping. I didn't get my order the following day. Or the day after that. I called them to see what was going on and they said they would be "happy to see if I qualified for refills." I received the refills 14 days after the call. I live on an extremely limited disability income. That $18 should have been spent on groceries. I used it for expedited shipping because I am allergic to the wrong mask they sent. They owe me $18 for expedited shipping plus interest and gas for driving all over creation to chace down a replacement AirCurve, plus time for my caregiver/driver and my time. (My most recent consulting and university guest lecture fee was $200/hour.) They need to fix the communications within their office, between offices, and between scheduling, supplies, and shipping. The stress involved in getting this sorted monthly does little to give patients a Better Night. read more

My physician is from the neurology center in Carlsbad California. My orders were sent for a CPAP back in February. I received a phone call in March with a garbled voicemail that could not be understood. They told my doctor they had tried calling me several times, that was a lie. Today I've been on the phone for over 40 minutes with the company. I was originally on hold for 16 minutes then the call dropped. I understand accidents happen, so I called back. First, I am told they needed my medical insurance (again) which has been supplied to them more than once. After being on hold for nearly 10 minutes, the representative of the company gets back on the line to tell me we actually have your insurance information and we are waiting for your insurance to approve. This is where the company has failed to listen. I know that my insurance will not cover the CPAP which I have said a couple of times. I have not yet met my $2000 co-pay limit before the insurance will kick in. So am I getting the runaround? This company has been failing me for over a year and a half now. In fact, last year I agreed to pay for the machine in cash. That said, it was my fault that I did not follow up because I changed jobs. Prior to that, I spent numerous hours on the phone with different people who had no idea what I was talking about in regard to insurance or previous calls. There must be a better place to get a CPAP machine and avoid all of this extra frustration and annoyance. I am including images of the two phone calls and times from today. I am also including an image from the last email I sent to their supposed customer service department. The email address came right from their website, and was bounced back to me, because the address does not exist. Trying to email them is a total waste. I tried communicating with them several times via email to no avail. I sincerely hope someone in customer service rep replies. Yes, even though this is a medical necessity it still should have some degree of CUSTOMER SERVICE! The company could use some training from their management team to their staff. And when I say management team, I mean all the way to the top and that is CEO Inan Beydilli. I've been a BetterNight (formerly Sleep Data) customer for approximately 14 years, and unfortunately the service has been consistently poor throughout that time. I'd give them negative stars if I could. Customer service is extremely difficult to work with. Despite explicit requests for written communication only (an ADA accommodation), they repeatedly call instead of emailing, forcing unnecessary phone interactions and making it hard to document or resolve issues properly. Resupply is a constant problem. I've repeatedly received incorrect supplies, and correcting mistakes is unnecessarily difficult. Requests often go unanswered, portals are inflexible, and fixing even straightforward equipment errors requires excessive follow-up or escalation. The overall experience is disorganized and frustrating, with non-responsive service, poor communication, and systems that make simple corrections far harder than consider acceptable for medical equipment. After many years of trying to make this work, I can no longer rely on BetterNight for safe, dependable CPAP support and am moving my business to Nationwide Medical, who has had excellent and responsive customer service thus far. I would strongly encourage anyone considering them to read recent reviews carefully and be prepared to advocate aggressively for themselves if you are going to risk using them as your DME provider. The Better Night facility is somewhat difficult to locate. It is situated in a large office complex of multiple low buildings off of Kearny Villa Road along the 163 Freeway near the 52 Freeway, in San Diego. You entter from the roadway into a long driveway and then there is a traffic circle. In order to locate better Night, you need to travel all around the buildings to the very rear of the complex. There is plenty of parking back there, including about five designated hadicapped car spaces. I need to meet with a reprepresentative for an explantion of the Sleep Study test I was provided. The new tests are just a little ring you wear to bed--that's it--no wires on your chest are needed. The reprepresentative from Better Night assigned to me was Megan. She took me into a private room and explained everything very thoroughly. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. Even negative stars. The employees are rude, unqualified, do not understand sufficient English to communicate, and cannot even code orders correctly. Because of their incompetence, I am not "not in compliance" because I haven't been able to order supplies. I even got my doctor involved and they are still calling me daily with "order updates". Each one of these "updates" is a cyclical lie of some sort: what "not in compliance" means has come back as three separate answers: a) We need your machine data, which has never been required before and has never been connected to Wifi EVER, b) you haven't ordered supplies so you're out of compliance and need to pay out of pocket and c) we need a letter from your doctor saying you still use these supplies. All of the above are absolutely false. They claim to escalate claims to supervisors or even above those, and nobody ever calls back. The times I've been on the phone with them it's taken 2-3 hours to even get any kind of answer, a lie or the truth. Basically, go anywhere else but here. Another black eye for BetterNight and well deserved too. This company is a money pit and its administration is a disjointed hot mess. I had to email them to remind them to send me my sleep apnea test results. Then it took more than a month to get my equipment. After two video consultations with the respiratory tech and two masks later, I had to mail the device back to them because it kept blowing a strong stream of cold air up my nose. I could not breathe at all. When I spoke to the representative to return the device, she admitted that the company had problems with that particular model and suggested I manually adjust one of the components. I said that it would break warranty and that I just wanted to return the equipment. After several weeks, I received a statement for a month's worth of replacement hoses and masks (more than $300). When I called customer service, the rep first denied I mailed back the equipment. After I produced the UPS documents showing that the device was received by one of the mail room employees, she reluctantly reversed charges. (ALWAYS document EVERYTHING!) What a nightmare. The only times I'm received prompt "service" from this company are when they want to extract more money from me (e.g. trying to force feed new supply kits when the existing ones have barely been touched). They purport to work with your insurance provider (assuming device usage compliance), but they bypassed mine entirely and instead billed me directly in spite of my compliance with the device usage policy. I got my rested CPAP ANOUT 5 mos ago. I was only shown 2 options for a nose mask which did not work for me. When I called the company to see what I could do. I was told no changes til 6 months out. I asked them if I could just buy another mask and they never got back to me. About 2 weeks ago a woman named Colleen c Called Me to see how it's going I told her I hadn't been able to use the CPAP as the nose masks I had leaked. She told me I should have had a refitting at one month. She made me an appointment at the mess's vista office but I got a text saying it was canceled. No reason or other options were given. I called back to set up an appointment and was on the phone for 40 minutes with a scheduler who told me nothing was available at Mesa vista before thanksgiving. She told me several times I had to go to Escondido which is over 20 miles away. Finally she told me there was one in 3 days at Mesa vista. When I got there they said my appointment had passed but she'd told me 2 pm not the 10 Sam they said. I would not recommend this company to anyone There was no text or call to confirm the appointment. I wrote the above in the better night waiting room while I was upset about not getting the help I needed After that Raquel Schiedal spent well over an hour helping me get a new nose mask for sensitive shin that doesn't leak air around it and into my eyes. She gave me information about the app to monitor my resmed and answered all my questions. She said they've made some changes in how they do things in response to the previous negative comments. I have been a BetterNight client since late September 2023 and am very grateful for the care and assistance I have received these past two years. I struggle with obstructive sleep apnea, and I can honestly say, I live and breathe, with the assistance of Better Night. The BetterNight team has been very helpful during my initial adjustment to using a CPAP machine at night and there were many of them. CPAP Therapy, much like any other, is a learning experience for the recipient, and I am grateful for those folks that have been in my corner when I needed them. I have a few shout-outs to issue here too: Kathy Meyburgh, Heather Burney, and Patrick Verkleeren, and many others, have been EXCEPTIONALLY AWESOME with their assistance to my needs, not only are they professionals, but they really are caring folks. This company is completely and totally unresponsive. I called about the CPAP recommended by my doctor, and arranged that when I returned from a vacation that was starting the very next day, I would call them again and we would make arrangements for the equipment to be shipped. I made it clear that I was not at all certain I was going to even try the CPAP device. A couple of days later, I got an email saying shipment was delayed. Okay, I thought, that's good. Then, while I was away, I got another message, in fact, the very next day, saying the device had been shipped! I tried to call, but of course, no one answers, and once they did answer, 45 minutes later, we got cut off. I emailed. Got no response from emails. I informed them via email that no one was home, please do not ship, or recall the shipment because it may get stolen. No response. Instead, I got messages saying I wzs not complying with the regimen and so my insurance would not cover. I emailed repeatedly, with no response. When I got home, I tried the machine. My neighbor rescued it from my front gate so it was not stolen. Support from BetterNight was nonexistent. Now I am hoping that I can just go to the address and return the equipment. I don't want it and if I did want it, I certainly would NOT want to get it or anything else from this business. If your doctor suggests this place, tell them NO and find another resource.
