DO NOT SHOP HERE...THEY PRACTICE PREDATORY PRICING!!! I stopped into this store on April 12th while visiting Nashville. They had a few uniquely cute items in their window display that caught my eye. I picked up a trucker hat and was immediately told the hats were all 30% off, which sounded great. I looked at a few other items in the store and noticed they were ridiculously priced and noticed they were (as high as luxury designer clothing, which nothing in there was even close to). A t-shirt was $500 and a bomber jacket was $1500. Crazy right? I walked to the register to simply check out my trucker hat and asked the sales associate how much the hat was. She immediately said "$40" and that there would be a 30% discount off of that price. I said "ok, I'll buy it". As soon as I said that she grabs the hat from me and goes back to the shelf where I found it and acts as if she's looking for the tag. She then says "oh, the Cowboy Cool hat as are higher so this one is $60 and you'll receive a 30% discount off of that price. I was skeptical of that entire exchange and felt like she was lying, but I really liked the hat and was in a hurry to check out so I could get on the road back home. Once home, I decided to look online to see what the actual cost of the hat was and saw that it was on the Cowboy Cool website for only $25!!! The NERVE of this store taking advantage of tourists in such predatory fashion. I only wish I would've had time to read the reviews on this company as there have been SEVERAL customers who've reported this exact same experience. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!! read more

My wife and I were in Nashville this past weekend for our 22nd wedding anniversary and I wanted to get my wife a pair of boots cause nothing says Nashville like a pair of cowboy boots. We went to Boot barn and it was too chaotic so we left and decided to walk around. As we were walking we saw Betty boot and decided to check it out. The store was clean and the sales people were extremely nice. I was surprised as they were not crowded like Boot Barn. The sales person started asking my wife what she was looking for and she helped my wife find a boot she liked. So when I went to purchase them I was a little surprised at the price over $500 for a pair of boots. I didn't think much of it as it was my anniversary and didn't want to spoil the mood. When I finally got home and started going through our expenses and figured I would check online to see how much these boots cost. To my surprise they were half the cost. Well that explains why it was empty in the store. I am not sure if they figured I was just a stupid tourist or what but to be almost more than double what they are online blows my mind. I stopped by Betty's Boots while on vacation in Nashville. It is a locally owned business that has been in operation for over 40 years. Before arriving in Nashville I browsed their online store to get an idea of their inventory but the store appeared to have many more items. The employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were organized and fully stocked with merchandise. Lots of the boots were extremely flashy for me but I had a good time looking them over. Looks cute and fun on the outside, seems to be a tourist-trap ripoff on the inside. I came in with a few friends while exploring Broadway one rainy day. It'll lure you in with the neon lights and huge boot sign. It's very nice and organized, With boots lined up on the wall to the right, and clothing to the back left. I got a few stares from the associates, but no friendly welcome or even a simple "hello." I had previously went to Boot Barn a few hours before coming in here, and couldn't help but notice they sell almost the exact same boot for $300 more. I can totally get why some cowboy boots are so expensive, but c'mon.... it's very difficult to find a pair in here for under $500. They've got a small selection of clothes in the back. I was never really into cowboy boots until I came into this store. The staff (one in particular) was so sweet and friendly, and answered all my questions in regards to the history, the fit, and the styles of a particular brand, Old Gringo. These are all handmade in Mexico (they also have a lower tier called the Yippee Ki Yay' that is more 'budget-friendly). I found my first love, called the Tara Brown Studs, which are the 5" ankle boots. They were so beautiful!!! Each pair of Old Gringo at this store will set you back close to about $850; at the front, there are also other pairs that are on sale, so be sure to check them out if they are to your liking. Betty Booths have been around for about 5 years now, and it was cool seeing how the boots overtook one wall of the store, all neatly organized. They also sell accessories as well as clothing. I went yesterday and was very disappointed with the staff and lack of customer service I received. Very rude, very short, I felt like I was inconveniencing them and they didn't care if I was there or not!! I didn't find any boots but even if I did I probably wouldn't have purchased them due to not feeling valves or even smiled at. Other boot places on Broadway are way better and friendly. read more

The staff was extremely rude and didn't seem to want to help us, acted as if we couldn't afford to be shopping on their store... Heard them speaking about other customers rudely right in front of us... The boots my friend purchased were over priced so that when they give their "discount" it just brings the cost down to the normal price. I found some cute gray fringe boots "Corral" brand and bought them. I've always loved going here when in Nashville and I don't think I've ever left empty handed. After several years of shopping here the prices have increased exponentially. I have always received a discount of around 30-35% but never thought much about it. This weekend I found a gorgeous sweater/duster that was marked $749.99. I loved it but I thought it was too expensive. The sales person said she would give me a 30% discount bringing the total down to $524.99. She made it seem like it was such a good deal. After my purchase, I went to the website of the sweater company. The same duster was priced at $500. Not on sale. The prices at Betty boots were marked up but made it look like such a deal with the discount. If ordered online, I'd have to pay the shipping so the cost would be similar (sales tax in Downtown Nashville is a whopping 9.75%) but I just think this is a shitty business practice. Gorgeous selection. Buyer beware. There are NO RETURNS. Customer service was awesome until I wanted to return a pair I bought and found 250$ cheaper online. I hadn't even left the store and the return eventually happened but the young lady was extremely difficult and rude about it. I specifically chose that boot shop because of it being local. And I was made out to be awful because I wanted to return the boots I'd just bought. As a small business owner I can't imagine treating any customer like that. I would have loved to brag about them. Knowing I was in tourist territory I expected to pay more... But not 250+ more. True customer service isn't about screwing your customers. It is about a win/win for both the vendor and customer. I got my money back- and would have contested the charge with my credit card and gotten it back either way... Best selection of high-end cowboy boots on Broadway. I am a fan of cowboy boots, so while I was in Nashville I decided to scope the boot scene. After hitting a host of different boot shops along Broadway, I decided to get a pair here because of the variety of fashion-forward styles. I felt like many of the other shops had similar styles (and often the exact same pairs) but this shop had more glam boots with cutouts, studs, metallics, etc. They carried the Old Gringo line, which are super upscale, along with other brands like Corral. I ended up getting a pair of faded black and pink Corral boots. When I looked them up on the web site, I found out this shop does mark up their prices a bit, but on the day I was shopping they were offering a 20% off discount, plus I was shopping in the touristy area of town, so I wasn't surprised. Do keep in mind, good cowboy boots are a lifelong investment, so the prices aren't cheap. Plan to pay $200+ if you want a quality pair. I'd say this is the place to shop if you want some super stylin' boots while you're in Nashville. read more

This place has a ton of beautiful cowboy and cowgirl boots as well as hats! The hats prices ranged everywhere from $30 to $100 from what I could see. They have a little mirror right next to the hats, however, there is a sign that you cannot just try on hats...you have to purchase one. It was pretty packed inside, but the line moved efficiently. The lady at the register was nice. There was another lady walking around asking everyone she saw, including me, if any help was needed. When I got to the register there was a discount on the hat bringing it down to $20. That was a nice surprise! The lady asked me if I wanted a bag or if I wanted to wear it. I chose to wear it so she cut off the tags for me. Really nice stuff in there along with great staff! I did not look at the boot prices so I cannot speak for those. read more

I am from up North and grew up close to New York City and now live in Philadelphia. I am from the City not from the South. I am a city slicker where we wear sneakers often or high heeled boots or stilettos. In the city, cowboy boots are not the norm. As a matter of a fact, they can be a little intimidating- almost, a little out of place. While in Nashville, I noticed gasp...everyone wears cowboy boots! Women wear them with shorts and dresses! I couldn't believe my eyes. What was more unbelievable however is that these ladies could pull off this look!!! I was starting to find these boots quite stylish during my stay in Nashville, TN. I decided to stop at a few stores however, didn't find anything I liked. I stopped in Betty Boots and went upstairs to see what else there was before leaving. That was when I eyed up a pair of dark chocolate brown boots with plenty of detail and work along the leg of the boot. Then I also saw that they were on sale. I had to have them! The sales staff here was very friendly, helpful and informative. They sized me correctly. I am a half size smaller in boots. They helped me put the boots on and showed me how to take them off. They also showed me what kinds of socks to wear with cowboy boots. If you decide to stop in here look upstairs everything is on sale! I am giving this store Betty Boots and their partner store Big Time Boots a negative rating because of false advertising. My husband and I visited both of these stores on June 28, 2017 and we purchased two hats at Big Time Boots. They had a supposedly good sale 30% of 1st Item, 40% of 2nd Item and 50% off of your 3rd Item at either store. So after purchasing the two hats we went over to Betty Boots and I purchased ONE SHIRT and was made to believe that it would be for the 50% off, WRONG - THEY TAKE THE LEAST EXPENSIVE ITEM YOU PURCHASE AND GIVE IT THE 50% OFF. Several pairs of Corral boots were prices between $700-$900... so even with a 30% off sale you'll be paying way too much. Boot Barn charges around $200-$300 for the same styles. Ended up paying $100 for a pair of denim shorts my daughter loved because it was 50% off (They were marked $200) plus they threw in a pair of "free" shorts. Turns out the same brand runs around $40 a pair at Nordstrom Rack or Boot Barn. read more

The woman who helped me was kind enough to put the boots on hold so I could think about them and did not push a hard sale. You have to be ready to spend money here, but the quality is priceless. Great selection!!! I had a hard time to choose just one pair. They offer a 40% discount on already doubled prices you would find on the internet. I ended up paying almost $100 more than if I just ordered it online but when in Nashville, you must buy Cowboy boots. At least BB has real hand-tanned boots and the better brands. Friend and I walked in here closer towards closing... an hour + left.... the lovely young lady helping us (i soooooo wish I could remember her name! I remember her face though!) was so patient with us, helpful during my 8 pairs of boots I tried on!! And even when they locked the doors... didn't feel rushed by her or feel that she was irritated.
