Dropped in today to buy a hat. I live in Nashville but often avoid 12 South because of summer tourists. I happened to be there for an outing and thought I would stop in to purchase a hat. I walked in, the door chime rang, and I stepped in to look around. It's a small shop and I stood there for a solid minute looking and there was no one there. I peeked in the back and there is a young lady, sitting on a stool, scrolling her phone. I waited to see if she could be bothered and 'nope'. I am so glad to have stumbled upon Planet Cowboy. Everyone there (all women, which was a plus!) was so kind and attentive. My wife went with a pair of the "Ahh Limon" by Planet Cowboy and Jaylin was kind enough to gift her a t-shirt that wouldn't clash with her bright green boots. She wore them the rest of the day walking around Nashville, to the airport, and all the way back home to Florida. I can't say how kind and knowledgeable everyone at Space Cowboy Boots were. I had a difficult time choosing the boots that I loved the most, but I never felt pressured to buy. The boots are definitely costly, but they are built to last. Very high quality, hand stitched, custom made boots are not cheap but worth every penny because they will be loved a long time! First of all, when you first enter this quaint little boutique you are greeted by a way too happy and friendly owner named Joylin. Her little chihuahua almost bit my leg off but that enhanced the experience. Joplin led me through the cowboy forest to find some really cool stuff. She is great and is worth going to Mulberry Street just to get a chance to meet her. Almost forgot why I was there. The selections are first rate cowboy/cowgirl coming from a complete neophyte. I will be recommending this place to all and hope to see a store opening in DC soon, but only id Joylin will visit once in a while. I could spend all day in this boot scooting' joint. If I had the cash - I'd have a pair of their boots, and here's why: SCB is a small spot in Nolita with a surprisingly vast variety of shoe-covers. Their website is mostly accurate about their selection, but you should just go in and check it out. I experienced good service, and if a pair was under $250, I'd be stomping all around NYC in multiple pairs. However, they are on the pricey side (350-450) for women's, so I'll continue without. read more

I have started riding horses (western in May) and well I fell in love with the whole deal. But the funniest thing so far has been the fact that I have started to wear cowgirl boots to work daily, not knowing they actually have orthopedic qualities.. whilst I was bearing my heel/foot pain and finally went to the doctor yesterday. I picked up a pair of custom designed Stallion/ Acme "remake" of a 60s design. Such a beautiful fit, feels like butter. The quality and selection of custom and hand tooled boots, like no other I have seen outside of the west. They are happy to take custom orders, have exotic skins to match any collector's tastes, and serve you with a huge smile and sometimes even a hug. The owners are clearly passionate about making cowboy boot- wearing a mainstream culture. And why not? From my personal experience, cowboy boots provide a perfect arch, the leather melds to my foot like a glove, I get a few extra inches of height with no pain and they last a lifetime!
