I absolutely love this garden. Plan ahead, if you're coming on a weekend or there's a concert because parking is limited. Even though you're nestled right up against noisy, I-70, it's so tranquil and peaceful in the gardens. You can meander for quite some time without seeing the same thing twice. There is so much to take in. And the smells! The beautiful mountain air combined with the fresh flowers was heavenly.

Plave have a wonderful Play ground for children of all ages. Large ground to run around.

Very family friendly plave and has a wonderful Play ground. Place is spacious and even has some tennis courts

Absolutely beautiful! The gardens are perfectly maintained, the view of the mountains are stunning, and there's a children's area as well. Perfect for the whole family. It's also right by a playground as well as a big green area for picnicking

    Not sure, what kind.

We came here the first week of October. There was still lots to see. The grounds are quite nice and fun to walk around. There is a gift shop that had a video about the Earth. Fun little diversion.

We loved visiting these gardens! It's part of a park that has other hiking trails which was a nice surprise. It's close enough to vail village to walk there, which allowed us to grab a coffee too!

A nice free garden close to Vail Village and free parking by the Visitor Center - very scenic and easy walk along the waters. I went on Memorial Day and not much was blooming, but the weather was nice and it was a relaxing park area nonetheless. There's a kids' playground, an educational center with activities for kids, and a tool shed you can sign up to help garden! Great for families to enjoy and some good photo ops! You can breeze through quickly or take your time to enjoy and maybe have a picnic!

Absolutely beautiful garden! They had alpine plants from all over the world. Staff friendly too.

Beautiful gardens and ponds, with lots of informational signs, and markers identifying the plants, flowers and trees. Just a short walk from the village. Free, but you are welcome to make a donation in the box.

Great free park close to the village. Neat bridges and water features. Very pretty at Fall Color time. Definitely worth a trip. Easy walk from parking garage.

Always a beautiful and well-maintained property with a naturally captivating ambiance. It never disappoints, nestled in the mountains and saturated with stunning colors and trees. A must-see if in the area!!

The Alpine Gardens is truly a local treat! The landscaping and dedication to plant placement is just breathtaking. I can't believe this place is donations only. It's such a treat to come here and walk the gardens. There is also an amphitheater, a very nice playground, an education center. There are many water features through out the grounds. The whole experience is very enjoyable especially in the summer when the plants are blooming. I highly recommend stopping by here when you visit Vail. It is worth your time.

Wasn't sure where to enter the garden. Just follow the signs to the parking lot and enter where it says Ford Park. Veer to the right after you pass the amphitheater. It's a short walk to the entrance to the gardens. I went the first week in October and the temp had dropped to 23 the night before. Although most of the plants were frozen the fall foliage was beautiful. Still very peaceful and beautiful.

Amazing setting of native alpine wildflowers. A quick and easy stroll from VV. Hands-down must.

It's pretty small, but it's really a nice collection of plants thoughtfully organized, easy to access, and free.

The first three weekends of August are peak season in Leadville starting with Boom Days and then two weekends of foot then bike races. 2. The Silver Dollar Saloon is a museum of sorts with Doc Hollidays original piano among other things. 4. The Silver Kings walk/hike is a good route for a relatively easy orientation to the area. 5. Fortunately, this was one of the really good ones. My wife picked up some travel literature and some tips and recommendations on things to see and do in Leadville. The lady working at the visitor's center was very nice and quite helpful (with the possible exception of her recommendation to visit the Matchless Mine Museum). An interesting side note - my son recognized the visitor's center as one of the places he painted when visiting Leadville with a group of "work campers" from our church in North Olmsted, OH. This work camp adventure was in 1994 or 1995 and it looks like the visitor's center has been repainted since then. He also spotted the cabin next to the First Presbyterian Church of Leadville where they were staying (First Presbyterian was hosting my son's group from John Knox Presbyterian in North Olmsted).

I decided to make a long past due visit to Archetype to check out their distilled spirits. In addition to their vodka and gin, they make a long list of small batch distilled spirits of various flavors. When you walk in there are a few high top tables and a long bar. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders. They are knowledgeable and will craft a cocktail based on what your favorite flavor profile is. As my friend C says, "if it's muddled N will drink it!" She's not wrong. She speaks the truth. I told the bartender that a cocktail with either the blackberry or strawberry spirits would be a great start. He mixed strawberry with their mint spirit, added soda, and ice in a tall glass. It was really refreshing. Because they have so many different flavored spirits they can craft almost anything. If you like a dirty martini, they have blue cheese and olive flavored spirits. I tasted the blue cheese spirit separately and it was hmmm...interesting by itself but mixed with the olive spirit and "ta-da!" - you've got your dirty martini. Their vodka and wine are made from wine grapes. I didn't get a chance to try either the vodka or gin this time but will definitely be back on my next ski trip to Vail. The distillery is located just a few doors down from Mountain Standard near the bridge over Gore Creek.

We visited their Vail tasting room for a cocktail class -- an activity I highly recommend.  Not only was the class a lot of fun, but it was also a great value.  It included a sampling flight, three cocktails & an hour of entertainment.  Michael is clearly passionate about the spirits he makes & the drinks they craft.  Whether you're a foodie or somebody who just loves a great cocktail, you'll enjoy the class. What I found particularly unique about Archetype's tasting room is their wide offering of house-made distillates/spirits.  They don't need a back bar full of brands that you see everywhere.  Instead, they're able to craft a custom cocktail based on the flavors you enjoy.  From familiar flavors like espresso or citrus to unique ones like blue cheese & truffles, you have the opportunity to find your own signature drink.  I tried several unique combinations & all were delicious!   In short -- from somebody who's been to a lot of distilleries -- make the time to check out Archetype.  The atmosphere was fantastic.  The drinks were delicious.  Their spirits win awards for a reason. You're sure to have a unique experience.
