On a few occassions I received meat which was freezer-burned and once received a bunch of inedible rotten hamburger meat. The most recent experience was the last straw. Bernadette ripped me off for over $300 because she shipped the order contrary to our written agreement which had been in place for the previous few orders. Her mistake, but she refused to give me a refund. Instead claiming some unwritten policy which she had made up in her head and it was my fault she didn't bother to contact me. That should tell you exactly what type of people you're dealing with there.

We got sat at the high top and took in the surroundings of the hustle and bustle along with all the signatures on the wall. The place is definitely a bit cramped to eat and the sound really carries. Our service was sometimes very quick sometimes us just trying to catch someone but I understand they were probably busier than usual. I enjoyed most of the food served here, minus the meats as the lamb had a bit of that typical after taste and the bacon was just OK. They made a great omelette though and their pancakes, particularly the blue berry ones, were TO DIE FOR. I heard their eggs Benedict was some of the best my group has had. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and think I would come here for Thanksgiving turkey but some of the other meats just weren't wow-ing. Their desserts on the other hand, are something I will dream of!

The cheese is an entire experience. It is creamy and just acidic enough. I was worried my family of 4 wouldn't be able to work through the wheel, but it turns out to be the most amazing grilled cheese-making cheese you could ever imagine and had my kids begging for more! We made a special trip to Crozet while in D.C. for this cheese (and maybe some wine!). Please visit if you are in the area!

The 2 lb. cheese wheel comes in a red wax coated protective seal that keeps this semi-soft cheese delicious and mild. We purchased two wheels of cheese at $32 each. They also ship for a slightly higher charge. But it's definitely worth taking a trip to see the monastery grounds and visit the sweet nuns. The cheese shop is open daily (except Sunday) between 2-4 pm, but hours may vary so check their website for times. The cheese here is made from grass-fed cow's milk which gives this cheese its incredible velvety texture. The cheese curds are shipped in from Wisconsin, the cheese capital of the states! The Dutch recipe is a well kept secret and makes this cheese unique and flavorful! It's so Gouda, you may develop a "habit" for it! It's truly heaven sent!
