The boulder retaining wall across the back yard looks fantastic, another bolder wall next to the house to build up another steep slope and creat a parking pad for us. There was a lot of work to do and the only holdups were due to weather. You can't really move those machines over wet ground without doing more damage than good. Because we live in an HOA, we needed someone we could trust to mow the lawn while we were still hundreds of miles away, and after using Yelp's project quote feature and receiving multiple estimates, The Mowing Magician immediately stood out. What impressed us first was the responsiveness, attention to detail, and overall value. Our property is 1.25 acres with a large sloped front lawn, plus a steep hill beyond a retaining wall in the backyard. To make things even trickier, the house had sat vacant for over 200 days, so there was significant overgrowth - especially in the steep backyard area (see before/after photos). We were referred to Brian by a local log home builder. We needed to add a roof off our log home to cover a large deck. Our major reason for the roof addition was to try and prevent leaks in my work room which is under the deck. We had another company replace a metal roof under our deck and above the work room area with a rubber roof. Unfortunately it has done nothing but leak since last October. The other company came out multiple times to try and fix these leaks but they were never successful. They insisted the water was traveling down through my 12x6 logs, we always thought the leaks came from a poorly finished edge. Brian came out, checked out the whole area and gave us a very reasonable quote for the job. He also offered to try and fix the leaks and assured us it was not coming through our logs. Brian went above and beyond. He found the leaks and repaired the whole perimeter of the deck. His work is excellent and he doesn't nickel and dime you to death! We are extremely happy with his work and would highly recommend him for any job, he is multi talented, professional, and super nice. Brian came by our house to assess some Leyland Cypress trees we've been worried about that have been turning brown. The quote for the entire removal was very reasonable. Instead he suggested we remove all of the dead limbs to see if they'll spring back on their own, which I was happy to hear as I didn't want to lose them. Most companies would have been happy to chop them down instead of trying to save them. I was amazed how quickly him and his team started on the work even as it started to rain, and the yard was so clean and tidy once they got done. As a local realtor, I am always looking for professional service providers and I would highly recommend Brian and his crew with Bevans Tree Service. Bevans Tree Service exceeded my expectations in every way. I requested a quote on Thursday evening. Brian came Friday morning to look at the job. He quoted a price that I was very comfortable with and began work that same morning. He completed the work in a very professional manner and cut some small dead trees at no expense to me that were not part of the quoted job. He cleaned up the area very nicely once he had cut down all the trees. I highly recommend Brian and will readily use him again when the need arises. I live in Weaverville NC. I woke up after the remnants of Hurricane Irma blew through the night to find my huge, BEAUTIFUL, walnut tree had uprooted and fallen across the road. Some poor soul who probably had to be at work before daylight had cut a path through the tree to let traffic by.
