There are not a lot of places that are open for big parties on Easter in the south suburbs of Chicago, and we thought to give Palos Country Club a try ... and glad we did. In the end Palos sold out the main dining room for the Easter Brunch ... they had maybe 400 guests for the event. With cold tables, hot tables, and a dessert table ... the food was plentiful and replenished frequently. We liked the fact that they did not turn the tables; even though the brunch was from 10 am to 3 pm, you had the table as long as you wanted. So if you showed up early, you could sit and have a drink while you waited for the rest of your gang ... nice idea. Along with the food tables they have a cash bar ... and they mean cash, not credit cards. Whoever your server was did the running between the bar and your table. At the end of your meal you simply paid her cash for the bar tab ... which was very reasonable. The banquet manager ... who probably sold you the tickets to the brunch ... walked the floor constantly keeping everything just right. We think she did a great job managing the affair and didn't leave anything to chance. We don't know anything about the golf course, but the food and ambiance and room for the Easter Brunch was a 5 star hit. We'll be back.

Although we were a little behind he accused us of parking directly on the green and made us skip 2-3 holes. Didn't get my moneys worth and the course/cart path sucked almost to the point it was dangerous to drive on. The greens had dandelions growing from them. Im not a professional player and don't expect something amazing, but atleast have respect for your customers. I'd almost like to call to get a refund for me and my group. I get it's cheaper to play, but if you go to silver lake they have a 9 hole course with nice staff, well maintained course, and friendly staff.

Chairs are not comfortable after a couple hours of sitting, but tolerable. The appetizers that were served were quite good. The bar ran out of certain some drinks throughout the evening though. The food was unexpected for the price range. The Korean cauliflower bites aren't tossed evenly and the dressing itself isn't mixed; each bite varies in spice level. Kitchen prep lacks quality -- gumbo had strings of sausage cubes connected by its lining and steak potato cubes were variable in shape/size. Fried green tomatoes are surprisingly thick crumb-coated when you consider how small and dry the Korean short ribs are. I tried salmon once; the odd presentation over mash, surrounded by bright orange reduction was off-putting. It was also clearly not done in the center. The Angus burger was my consistent safe choice. There is a small fitness facility within the womens locker room. It has various small pieces, including a peloton. Most staff are new to their roles -- the desk person who checked me in, the catering assigned to our conference room, and the kitchen staff who set my plated meal an arms distance away instead of onto the leather pad in front of me.
