I was there yesterday 10/14/25 and wanted to see if they had any new magazines because in Orange County where I live they have no new magazines at all. So to my surprise it was as if were Christmas. They had exactly what I was looking for. Plus what really made me feel so happy and filled with joy besides finding the magazines I was looking for was how kind, patient, helpful and completely spectacular the customer service was. Eddie was so helpful. He always made sure I was okay and if I needed any help just to ask which I'm not used to. In fact I can barely see so I did ask the sweet Eddie for help and he helped me locate exactly what I was looking for. Then checking out I met Glen who was just as kind and gracious. I told him we need a stand like this one down in Orange County. I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Beverly Hills Newsstand and the phenomenal Glen and Eddie. I go up to LA a lot for Drs appointments, but I will go or try to go every week just to get the magazines I want. However I'd just go by how Glen and Eddie took such great care of me and were so nice and really seemed to care. They are both magnificent super stars in every way and are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met and their stand is overwhelming amazing. Plus it was definitely bonus points that Eddie was wearing a Dodger hat supporting our guys in blue, Go Dodgers. I was having a hard time finding a copy of the LA Times the day after the Dodgers won the World Series. I called less than 10 minutes until they closed and he was still very pleasant and said he has plenty and not to worry he'd still sell them tomorrow. Following day I drive out and he has a couple bundles left. When I asked to buy some, he unbundled and even made sure to remove the to few so I could have the pristine ones. Oh my! Add another update to my ridiculously high tally! In my defense the god Mercury, currently in retrograde (if you believe in this sort of phenomenon like I do) must be laughing his behind off with all, well most of us, transiting back and forth frustrated to get even the smallest of tasks accomplished. Backstory: Bristol Farms our neighborhood grocery store quit carrying daily print news about a month ago. Hubby's guilty pleasure is The Wall Street Journal's hard copy weekend edition in spite of the fact my online subscription includes it. He, like I used to be, prefers the tactile experience of turning a page. Enter our walkable 7-Eleven to pick up the paper. Not exactly, it's delivered at 5AM Saturday morning and a mere 3 copies so if you don't set your alarm, you're out of luck. That being said, yesterday I arrived too late, 8AM, to pick up a WSJ at 7-Eleven. Not wanting to disappoint my slightly under the weather hubby, I hopped in the car to my old Bev Hills hood, parked a goodly distance away in a residential 2-hour zone garnering a fitness walk to score the news and sure enough Al's Newsstand delivered; plenty of copies still for sale. Would I do this again? No. I upgraded my online WSJ account to include weekend hard copy for hubby but the return trip to the 90212 did wax nostalgic, fond memories of a different time in my life... P.S. Read my initial review for deets on publications Al's Newsstand still carries and that coveted 2-hour FREE parking in the structure just above. read more

After being closed for months due to C-19, they've opened back up as of July 14. The neighborhood just didn't seem right without them closed! All your favorite magazines and newspapers available. My only complaint is that they no longer carry the Daily Racing Form. Only place around that has them anymore is the Beverly Hills Market & Deli sadly, otherwise you need to get them at Santa Anita. read more

Not sure why... but the owner Al seems to thInk he has leased all of the traffic lanes of Beverly Blvd. I tried stopping in the clearly marked Passenger Loading Zone and he stepped behind my vehicle to prevent me from properly parkIng. He then came to my window and told me it was "HIS" loading zone and I was not shopping at his dated news stand (ummm.... heard of the internet?) and therefore was not allowed to unload a HANDICAPPED passenger. One call to Beverly Hills City Halll verified that I have and had every right to park there and unload for up to 10 mins and he has NO RIGHT preventing me or stepping in the way of my vehicle. This guy needs to get a life and a new career so he has something else to do with his time other than harass the handicapped. read more

why review a newsstand?? I'll give you plenty of reasons why 1) the owner, Al, is a complete sweetheart! he knows customers by name, their children's names, and remembers which pack of gum they like and which paper they read. 2) this newsstand is in the prime location on Beverly drive where tons of restaurants and shops are and it's a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon gazing at magazines while in the midst of the Hollywood crowd. 3) Al run's a honest, family owned business where even though at the prime age of 65, he still works everyday and makes sure to come in on off hours so his faithful employees can get a good hour off for lunch. 4) he used to be a wonderful customer of mine at Breadbar and he was one of the bestest tippers i have ever had!! and plus he always saves room for dessert... :) 5) he always talks about his awesome family (his son and daughter) and takes time to ask about your life and how u are doing. always brings a smile to my face. 6) doesn't care or mind if u stand around and read mags for hours on end!!! US weekly, People, Cosmo, Glamour and In Touch are the weekly reads for me here... 7) I heart AL and his huge, warm heart. :) If you are ever in the area please stop by and let him know he is loved by yelp!! also ask him to buy a Al's Newsstand T-shirt made by his son Travis who makes the awesome-est cotton hand painted t's for the store!! read more

The Owner is so rude!!! A friend and I was buying a magazine at this palce, but when I wanted to take a picture of my friend holding the magazine in her hand, the owner come up to us and said that he don't want that his inventories are in the photo. I'm not sure how much there is to say about a newsstand but I had a great experience. I called ahead of time to see if a certain issue was available and was answered promptly. When I got there, the owner (or so I assume) was very kind and helpful in the short amount of time I was there. Everything's organized well so I had no trouble looking for what I needed despite not knowing what the cover looked like. They charge at the same price of the actual issues, so that's fair. He asked me all about it and was genuinely curious and equally focused and bringing to his clientele what they are interested in.
