The Philosophical Research Society is the product of Manly Palmer Hall a writer, astrologer and…read moreresearcher into the wisdom traditions of many cultures. It is devoted to the study of religion, mythology, philosophy and esotericism. Tucked back behind foliage, the PRS is located on Los Feliz Blvd. It includes an auditorium, a gift shop, a library and a lecture room above the library. The library is pretty amazing in that it looks straight out of 19th Century university with all books locked behind glass. Its two stories are all polished, dark wood and old (sometimes falling apart) books. Interspersed by statues and sculptures. This is the library for library nuts. It is only open on Thursdays and Fridays and all books stay within the library. You may, however, take photographs of book texts and imagery. The library contains hundreds of books on religion, mythology, mysticism and the occult. I could easily spend several hours here. The gift shop sells a variety of things ranging from what you might find in a esoteric shop (incense, tarot cards...etc.) to snacks and beverages. There's also a huge book area in the back. A lot of folks seemed to be using the area as a library, but I believe at least some of the books were for sale. I didn't spend any time in the lecture room or auditorium because there were no events when I last visited. If you go to the the events page on the website (https://www.prs.org/events.html), you can see what is on offer at any given time. This is definitely an interesting spot, though one I can imagine many visitors being somewhat perplexed by. It's a society that isn't devoted to a particular creed or way of thinking, but rather seeking wisdom in the plurality of faiths and traditions within the world. Definitely worth a visit.

Very disappointed in how the Death Cafe is run. I was going to Death Cafe for over a year. Over…read moretime it started to devolve into a lot of discussion about things other than death. The facilitator allowed this when it was one of her friends/favorites. The Death Cafe is strictly meant to be a place you have tea and cake and talk about death. Yet the facilitator allowed more than one person go off on a political tangent that amounted to someone having a fear based breakdown. The person who was speaking said, not once but a number of times, how she felt like she needed to get a gun for protection. I found this talk really unsettling and was surprised it was not reigned in. When I spoke to the person (which you are encouraged to do) about why she was feeling this way and what fear was really causing it I not only got attacked by 2 other people in the group the facilitator herself. Yet a few weeks prior when I mentioned the genocide in Gaza she put the kibosh on anything about that. I think she likes the people who are "artists" and figures they are extra sensitive. But allowing the rest of the group to be subjected to this kind of rambling was not only not in keeping with the death cafe it could be triggering for many. After that I lost all respect for the group and didn't return. It no longer felt safe to me

If you're looking to write a comedy pilot script, I highly recommend Jackie Geary's pilot class…read more Besides being a successful comedic actor, Jackie's comedy writing has been optioned at Warner Brothers and TBS. I was thrilled to have an opportunity to learn from someone that currently works in the business. I went from only a log line to a 35 page sitcom script that I'm elated with in 2 months. It's an enormous amount of work, but if you're willing to put in the effort, Jackie will be there with you every step of the way. She teaches invaluable tools of comedy that help you develop a solid pitch document, outline and finally the script. I learned a ton in a short amount of time. The focus is always on how her teachings apply to your own writing and what you can do to make your ideas come to life. Along with Jackie, I was also lucky to have a fun, talented and supportive group of writers in the class to share the experience with along the way. I feel I now have the skills to write more sitcom pilots and infuse comedy in all my writing, if I so choose. I wouldn't have been able to say that with any confidence before this class. It's well worth the time and investment!!

I had taken acting classes in the past but these classes really unlocked how to work with material and perform for camera in a natural and real way. Not so much script analyzation with a partner and more actually getting in there and doing it. Less head stuff and more action. I loved the weeks I spent in these classes and made some amazing friends as well. Jamison and Jackie are geniuses in their craft and I will definitely be taking more classes with them in the future.

First off I do apologize for the pain my voice brings to your ears, yes I know I sound like poop…read morelol. Plan parking in advance!!! VINCENT MASON WAS THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE CONCERT! I bought my tickets for this concert on 12/25/25 because I really needed VINCENT MASON WAITING ON YOU TO WEAR OFF. Unfortunately he didn't play that song on 06/19/26. I got the tickets for ME and I was going to take my son to his first concert and my brother who loves Parker. Unfortunately my bro wasn't able to attend due to work responsibilities, so I took my nephew, it was also his first concert as well. After a long deployment my Navy Baby surprised me with a visit and I was able to get her a ticket days before the concert seated next to us! I've been to the Greek Theater in Brekley and I was expecting the same sound, but this place needs an upgrade . I rate this 5 stars simply because of the experience, the memories that were made and because I got to take my babies plus VINCENT MASON!!! I starved so I couldn't rate the food, but it did look good. The service for the big ballers looked excellent, enjoying the show never leaving your seats that's awesome. I needed to dance so I moved out of my seat and my beautiful company followed. Security didn't give us a hard time because we were out of the way. Again I apologize for the horrible pitch in my voice. I'm only posting the videos that weren't going to make your ears bleed. Will I go back HELL YES! This place is right next to the Observatory, which btw if you never been you should. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood and make sure you bring a jacket or blanket because it does get cold even in the summer.

This is an outdoor area with limited parking so we decided to Uber here from a friend's house. Getting in was quite fast, actually. But the drive up was a little congested. I overall thought the inside of the venue was very clean. The bathrooms were plenty and they also sold drinks and food as well. So overall this place was pretty cool and fun to see. The show ended at 10:00 PM and I would come back to see another show or maybe a music event. Overall I had a fun time here.
