We love BevMo! We stop in after a Trader Joe's run (traders is next door) leaving either the cart or bag at the front and grabbing a bottle of tequila (Cabo Wabo is our favorite!) or The Fireman's fave Kona beer. They are always friendly and the store is always clean!

This is my first review on yelp but I felt I had to warn folks before they order kegs from this Bevmo. I have ordered many kegs from the SLO Bevmo and have never had a problem. These guys just can't seem to pull it together. I was very excited that there was going to be a Bevmo in Santa Maria because it is on my home from work and I wouldn't have to drive to SLO for a keg every time. When they first opened I ordered 2 kegs for a party and when I called to see if they were in, the order had never been placed. I had to run up to SLO the morning of the party to get them, very inconvenient but there are always glitches when starting up a new location so I gave them another try. Second time I made sure to talk to the manager, Ron. I told him about my previous experience and then placed the order for a keg. I even called their distributor to make they had the keg in stock and then called him back to confirm. Well guess what, here it is, playoff weekend and I don't have a keg for the party I'm having. I continuously called him and he just doesn't seem to care. It's unfortunate; they should understand that people placing orders are usually doing it for an event and if they cannot support they should be calling me and helping me make alternative arrangements. read more

Try to avoid this particular store. Went in looking for a very particular Whiskey. In a bit of a rush and asked if they could point me toward the Scottish Whiskey. The young man informed me that all Whiskey is Scottish. Then walked me over to the tequila and said " this is all our Whiskey and the single malt is on the other side". Tequila is Not Whiskey! On the other end of the store I found what he said was the single malt- it was an isle of American whiskey. I finally find on another isle the imported and still couldn't find my brand,so I asked for it by name. The boy corrected my pronunciation of Stronachie to "Strawnatch" and when I repeated the proper pronunciation he said "whatever all Whiskey tastes the same". Utterly useless employee who knows nothing about alcohol except that he gets drunk on it! Snarky, sarcastic, and completely wasted my time! Thankfully another employee took over and Was helpful and I finally got Stronachie 10yr. But I'll be going to a different store from now on where they know that tequila and whiskey are not the same thing read more

I just had THE WORST experience with be mod. I called 6 months ago to price out kegs for my wedding, I asked if there was a deposit and I was told NO. I was told the price of each kegs and the total came out to 300. I call 2 months to reserve said kegs and was told they will write down the request and make sure the kegs are ready for pickup. Once again was not told about deposit and or any other charges. I called Wednesday (3 days before my wedding) and was told the kegs have a hold ticket on them and ready for pick up. Once again not told about any other charges. We go to pick up the kegs and was told that there is a 40 dollar deposit for each leg and 50 dollars each for each spout. even though I had specifically asked if their was a deposit and was told NO and I was never told the prior 3 times I called of extra charges. Also they sold one of the kegs we reserved 2 months ago and also had a hold ticket on it. When I called to talk to the manager she said there was nothing she can do because it was miscomunication. This arrangement was put in place 2 months ago. My original total started at 300 and now is 509 and I also do not have the original beer I had ordered. read more

But... ive thoroughly vetted l&k this week... and they were consistently on point. Felt good after each meal, like I walked out of fine sushi joint. As far as im concerned... l&k is to liquor/market/burritos as Swiss/shaws is to steak house . All are santa maria . Real/raw/staples Unless you have an immune disorder snowflake... enjoy it.
