First off: hire these amazing people!!! Seriously! You'll be so beyond glad that you did. Food was a huge thing for us. It was basically number one on our list of most important. Chelsi was such a trooper with all my questions even before we hired them. Even afterwards, she responded so quickly and was always so nice and accommodating. I never felt like I was asking a dumb question. Okay secondly, the food is honestly some of the best brunch food we've ever had. They stay true to their namesake. This is not your typical boring wedding food. This is real food that is damn good. Everyone at our wedding RAVED about the food and the bartender! The team who came to serve were just as amazing as the food itself. It's all inclusive. They pre set our tables, they bussed (no trash cans in your photos), and the staff were especially attentive to me and my groom. They even brought us our favorite drinks and appetizers while we were still taking pictures! We found that so thoughtful. We never had to ask for anything with them. Also, their set up of the food stations were absolutely beautiful and Pinterest worthy! They took brunch food and elevated it in a way that felt elegant but also down to earth and approachable. For our wedding we started with 3 types of hors d'oeuvres (sweet chili meatballs, jambalaya cakes, and mac & cheese cakes) which were probably all my favorite part of the meal. For dinner we went non-traditional and had three stations (chicken & waffle, sliders, and pasta) - and they were a huge hit with our guests! When planning my wedding, I did a lot of research for caterers and was initially impressed with Beyond the Box's huge amount of options. They have everything from simple appetizers to carving stations. I was trying to plan a menu for a casual backyard wedding with interesting choices for simple eaters and foodies. I work in the luxury wedding industry in Houston, I attended a friends wedding in Dallas and this caterer was 5 star. I have severe dairy allergy and they already had my accommodations available - our server knew my allergy and confidently told me that it was dairy-free. Super impressive!! The food quality was truly phenomenal and the servers constantly refilled beverages. They served the women first and cleared plates right away (very proper service). Beyond the box catered for our office today and I was not impressed. For starters, The pasta salad was undercooked and chewy. The fruit salad was good- but let's face it, how can you mess up a fruit salad. I had 2 wraps, a turkey and Swiss and a black bean corn one. Both of the wraps were soggy! The turkey and Swiss one was especially soggy- the turkey also smelled like wet dog and the wrap was flavorless. The black bean and corn wrap was okay, the meat was questionable. I attended all All-In training session at our home office in Dallas. Lunch was prompt and setup & ready to go when we took our break. We asked Josh for help designing a menu for us, and I have to say, he did a GREAT job. Lots of variety. Sandwiches of every flavor, pasta salad, hummas (more like YUMmus) and fruit. The entire group thoroughly enjoyed it. Was light enough to eat in between sessions and heavy enough to tide us over until the end of the day. Win-Win in my book. I contacted this company for my husband's big birthday event to be held in our home; appetizers only. Everything was great...EXCEPT THE FOOD! The chicken and vegetarian spring rolls were inedible; guests looked at them and moved to the next platters. The California and spicy crab rolls were ok, but less than you'd even expect from the local grocery store. The fig appetizer was very good; the eggplant appetizer was good. I let them know of our displeasure and asked to receive a return call; no one ever followed up. I was so disappointed. A close friend asked who I had used because she wants to make sure she never used the same company. I had checked the reviews and most were good, but this was not a good experience for us at all. I had Beyond the Box Weddings cater my wedding reception at the Dallas Arboretum in August 2019. I contacted many different vendors for pricing, options, etc. and Megan de Farcy from Beyond The Box immediately stood out as the best manager/administrator. Her responses were prompt, professional, reasonable and best of all - when I gave her a list of things I wanted changed, information about, etc. she would answer EVERY DETAIL. That, combined with their fair pricing, full service catering, and wide good range of menu options led me to choose them to cater our reception, and I am so glad that I did. We did the "Italian buffet" with a lot of custom options (which the FREE taste testing really helped us sculpt our menu), and the food was delicious. I asked Megan if they could do some sort of a custom braised beef short rib in a red sauce for a beef dish, and they absolutely crushed it. I had many tell me how good the food was - from the roasted vegetables, to the chicken Parmesan and many, many people that loved the braised beef short rib (myself including, my mouth is watering right now...). That's just talking about the food - I also had Beyond the Box run the bar, set up linens, etc. and they were extremely flexible and exceeded my expectations in all aspects.
