Since she had such glowing reviews, I was certain she would already be booked for that day and would laugh at my deadline. In the meantime, I contacted other chefs who replied back with less than desirable menus for foodies like ourselves. Thank God she replied on a Sunday with a complete menu! We went back a forth on a couple dishes but ended up with a 4 course meal with 3 different wines that would appease our picky palates! Pricing depends upon what you choose-ours ended up being a little over $500 including alcohol. Chef Teri arrived before we got home from work to prepare. She had our dining table decorated with flowers in tiny vases, candles, typed up placecards with the complete menu, and flowers in vases in our entryway and bathroom! She was warm and friendly and happy to educate us on food sources and her background. I included a pic of our menu, so I will not type up info on the dishes; however, I will say that the food was great! She truly pulled it off, without sweating, even though I gave her short notice! I can't imagine what the food would taste like with a month's notice-she is truly a gifted soul! Chef Teri clean up everything after we were finished eating and even stored some leftovers in our fridge. Unfortunately, I did not have access to connect with him prior to the event but his pictures and reviews looked good. Glad I chose Chef Chris and his team because they were great. They showed up a little early to get set up and prepared. He did bring a lot of his own dishes and cookware. They were very kind to everyone but also focused on their craft. We had 4 courses. The food was amazing, everyone truly enjoyed the flavors and presentation. They cleaned up nicely and were out of there in no time at all. I would definitely recommend.

Overall, I would purchase the lamb chops again without hesitation. The food is too costly to have hits and misses especially when I've waited 3 hours; another 5 minutes to ensure chicken and dessert were cooked to standards would not have mattered to me. They offered a 10% discount because they started over 40 minutes late. It was 96 degrees outside, I got sunburned-not prepared for the long wait. People at the front of the line started to leave after an hour in line because no food was going out, they complained about late start, slowness and food not ready-all valid concerns, I waited over 3 hours in the sun and as a senior citizen that was too long to be sweating/standing. I would rate the lamb chops 5/5; mashed potatoes were good but I had to keep spitting out the kernel like substance 3/5; the wings were not what I asked or paid for but had a sweet taste/yet raw chicken and blood on bone 2.5/5; doughy peach egg rolls were sweet 3/5...I don't want to give an overall rating of 3/5 as the food if cooked properly would have easily been a 5/5 and my bias for the lamb chops makes me rate on a curve with 4/5.

Everyone has an off night...but, our recent private dining experience with Chef Benjamin was…read morenothing short of disastrous. The evening began poorly when Chef Benjamin arrived late, setting a tone of unprofessionalism that would characterize the entire night. The ingredients were visibly subpar (incredibly small scallops, choice beef, store brand BBQ sauce, canned peaches, and canned whipped cream), clearly hastily purchased from a budget market. The resulting dishes were simultaneously cold and very overcooked, a culinary contradiction that speaks to disorganization and poor timing. Ironically, the same canned products were found on the shelf of a convenience store the following morning. Even though the grill was less than 100 feet from the table, every meal was served cold. One of our guests chose to microwave her dinner. Once this was brought to the sous chef's attention, Chef Benjamin decided to place dinner plates directly on the hot grill. This led to two plates shattering, creating both a safety hazard and an embarrassing disruption. Not having enough plates, two guests were served on plastic serving trays. Most frustratingly, due to the chef's inability to time preparations properly, our party of eight ended up eating independently rather than sharing the communal dining experience we had paid for. When confronted about these issues, the chef displayed a shocking level of arrogance and defensiveness. Rather than acknowledging the numerous shortcomings, Chef Benjamin pointed to our empty plates as "proof" of satisfaction--apparently mistaking our hunger and politeness for enjoyment. This belligerent reaction to reasonable feedback demonstrated not only a lack of professionalism but an absence of the fundamental service mindset required in the culinary profession. I suspect his sous chef, who seemed to be very competent, was completely embarrassed by his behavior. What was meant to be a special evening became an incredibly overpriced and expensive lesson in how one individual's incompetence and poor attitude can thoroughly ruin a dining experience. I cannot emphasize strongly enough how completely Chef Benjamin and his "experience" failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations of a private dining service. Diner beware.

Here's the problem. If you don't answer the phone and don't call someone back, or at least text…read morethem, you make them feel like their potential business isn't appreciated. It takes so little to impress a perspective customer...and so little to disappoint them. In the future I hope they can at least text that my phone call was appreciated and that they'll get back to me on Monday. Or sometime next month. Hearing nothing is kind of an insult. Happy to see your business is going so well. Perhaps paying an intern,or a relative, to return messages would be a good investment.
