Rocky Mountain Custom Decks was contracted to build our patio deck and we have had an A++ positive…read moreexperience with the process. From design through completion they proved to be a valuable resource. The crews were wonderful, timely, respectful and responsive to any questions we had with the process. Nate regularly kept us informed of the project process, permits, variances and delivery and work schedules. The quality of materials, and workmanship, and business integrity were top notch.

I said I would update once the job was finished. Bottom line: I would not want any other Custom…read moreDeck company to do my deck. Here is why: I found them to be trustworthy. I originally hired them because I saw how hard they worked and how good a job they did on my neighbor's deck. They did the same building mine. When things went wrong they fixed them. They stayed until everything was right with quality results. This was a large $100K+ project. They might not be the cheapest but they are reasonably priced for what they do. Being trustworthy means a lot to me. Someone in the neighborhood reportedly had a deck contractor walk out on them after spending $85K. That was never a concern with Nate despite being a long project. This project involved redoing the roof, electrical, pouring concrete below the deck, doing stucco work and redoing gutters along with building a deck and adding windows and doors. Nate essentially served as a general contractor for the non-deck items. We basically took a 30'X10' deck and expanded it 5' to make it 30'X15' then divided it in half making a 15'X15' room covered by a gabled roof with windows on one side and sliding doors on the other side and open to the west. The other 15'X15' portion of the deck remained completely open. As far as quality of the work I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Loved our new deck by Doug and his guys. They put it in last year and it's looking great still…read more We decided to add a pergola too and they were very professional and cleaned up as needed and we had no issues at all. I would highly recommend them

I completed my research on Decks by Schmillen using multiple review sites as well as checking how many years they have been in business and the BBB. Decks by Schmillen comes highly recommended via word of mouth without advertising. Doug was prompt with putting together a detailed bid and being upfront on different routes I could take to save money or spend more on different options. When Keith and his crew came out they were nothing but professional working long days with little to no breaks. It took about 8 fulls days including time spent on issues fixed. I had an issue that I failed notice after the final walk through and upon reaching out to Keith he had Russ was out there that day fixing it. My family is very happy with our new deck. Details on the deck: 19x12 Timbertech Legacy Deck with Sapele in the "field" with hidden fasteners, dual picture border frame in Mocha with cortex screws, 5x5 posts sleeves in Kona with sleeve skirt and cap, 4' wide closed step with Sapele tread and Mocha riser, Fortress FE26 Rail with Sapele drink rail, Timebertech LED stair risers and Timbertech cap lights.
