I can't say enough about Bidawee Westhampton. We went to them when our beloved dog became suddenly ill. Everyone on the staff was exceptional. When we lost our girl they took care of her cremation and were incredibly caring. There was even a sweet German shepherd in the office when we were making arrangements that was like a natural therapy pup and a chihuahua that provided comic relief. It's so terrible. Joe Garrison was my neighbor and the facility has gone down which is sad to see. I was a volunteer and I went to help socialize the animals prior to being a volunteer. All the staff care about now is if you are actually adopting or not when it used to be "even if you don't adopt, thanks for helping to socialize the animals" BECAUSE a lot of them have trauma. They are the most unfriendly staff from start to finish. I never used to be supervised when engaging with the animals because I was well known. We will absolutely not be returning again. Good vet but impossible to make an appointment! They never answer the phone or call back. I have been going here for years but done now.

Went to adopt a cat there some years back after my cat of 20 years passed away. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. It was very clear from the beginning they did not want me there. The woman who helped me couldn't have looked more terrified that I wanted to adopt a kitten, as she was frantic in her attempt to keep me from adopting. I wasn't even allowed to enter the cat room. I provided all the vet records they asked for as I watched her calling looking for any reason to decline me. She even had to know the vets my parents used to take our pets to when I was a kid. Then she got a 50 question test for me to take which I know is not normal because it took her 15 minutes of going back and forth between the front desk and an office searching for it. I must have passed the test because she became even more frantic after that. Then she decided she didn't like the road I lived on and I wasn't allowed to adopt from bideawee. Even though my intentions were to have an indoor cat she decided my road was too busy. I will never step foot in this place ever! read more

Back in 2004 I was homeless and asked for help with rehoming my cocker spaniel. The dog was a great source of comfort. I was giving up food and making sure the dog was fed and living in my car. I joined the military and really needed to find him a home. The people of Bideawee were unable to assist and told me I was a piece of garbage. Unfortunately I had to send him to a kill shelter. None of the rescues would take him. But they were the meanest. I'll never know the outcome and hope that as a cure purebred someone adopted him. They say they save animals- but it's a lie. Don't bother to ever go to them. I did adopt other animals later in life when I had a steady job and home. But I will never in a million years adopt a pet from a phony pet rescue that wants donations without actually saving animals. read more

Bideawee is great, after years of wanting a dog I decided that now was the time. I went to a few shelters trying to find the best match for my household as I already had 2 cats, the staff were very knowledgeable about the dogs temperament with cats. I ended up sitting with Misty, a pit bull puppy and falling in love with her, the adoption process was quick and easy and the employees were very helpful giving tips all along the way and tips for when we brought her home. I cannot say enough to portray the positive experience we had at Bidawee Westhampton. We adopted our dog Thor from here and from beginning to end, this place was amazing. We began our dog search online and could already tell that Bidawee's website was superior to others and the care they seemed to have for the animals was clear. We started visiting shelters closest to our home and worked our way out. The first few experiences we had at 3 other shelters were rough to say the least, and we were beginning to wonder if we would ever find our perfect doggy match. Then came Bidawee... When we entered the facility for our 1st visit, I could already tell it was going to be a good experience and was impressed with the facility itself as well as the staff. The staff member we met with spoke with us in length and went over the dogs she felt would be the best matches for us before we walked through the facility. Then she took us through and allowed us to see each and every dog they had for ourselves. After the walk-through, we were asked which dogs (if any) stood out and who we would like to meet with one on one. My husband had two dogs in mind, but I knew in my heart that Thor was the one I wanted to see (due to the other being a younger puppy and with two younger sons at home I wanted a slightly older dog). When I asked for Thor, the staff member (Melissa) kindly informed us a bit of Thor's rough start in life which led to him being fearful of men. Melissa asked if we wouldn't mind having myself and my two sons go in the meeting room first with Thor, then introduce my husband. We of course agreed and took the visit in three steps: I went in first with my sons, then we stepped out and had my husband go in alone with Thor, then we all went in the room with Thor together. The visit went well- better than anticipated, however Thor was very nervous and shy. Instead of Melissa and staff pushing the process and rushing us out the door with a new dog, we all agreed it would be best to come back for a few more visits to make sure it was a good fit. This worked out well for all of us (especially Thor). After 3 visits, we knew we had to take Thor home because it was a match! Every visit here- from first entering the facility, to picking Thor up, was fantastic! They supplied us with everything we needed (including Thor's skin medication and fish oil supplements for his allergies) upon taking Thor home. The paperwork was thorough and well-explained. The communication via phone made every visit and entire process go smoothly (Deanna helped tremendously). Now Thor is home and already thriving! He is breaking down his fear of males, and allows my husband to hug him daily. He is adjusting so well at home and is the best dog . Great place to go when an animal is in need of care not too long ago a deer was hit in the evil person that hit the deer knew it and just continued on driving so the deer were suffering in the woods I ran over to it and it was crying I got my neighbor who is a veterinarian who works for bideawee and gave it a tranquilizer until a police officer showed up and finally took the deer out of pain it was a great combined effort I have two people for one evil person's action. read more

NEVER, I repeat NEVER take your animals to their veterinary service! I took my last dog here for a tumor that was connected to his intestine, stomach and pancreas. My dog ended up being skin and bones, not eating and Bideawee still could NOT figure out why. Their machines are NOT up to date. Yet we went back week after week, until finally the tumor got big enough to where their machines finally picked it up and they sent us elsewhere. By the time my dog went in for surgery we had spent $3,000 at Bideawee JUST in veterinary visits. This did NOT count the operation itself! The operation cost another $2,000 and my dog ended up dying on the table anyway. I WILL NEVER go here again for veterinary services. Stay clear away if you want your animal to LIVE! read more

I have been going to the bideawee dog park for the last 4 years and I have had no problems with the dogs or their owners. Yes, a new code is needed to get in, and submitting new paperwork showing current vaccinations is mandatory and easily obtained by the pleasant folks who work in the veterinary clinic. Every time I am there, I have observed the owners picking up the dog poo ,even bringing their own bags. I have only high praise for this wonderful place. read more

Everyone is always so friendly at this location. They know me and my dogs, and are in tune with our needs. Dr. Young really cares about my dogs, and I know she works really hard to give them the best care. Last time I was there she could not get blood from my dog, Pasha, and instead of forcing it and potentially traumatizing her we talked about it, and decided to hold off another week and try again at that time. My other dog Potter was having his teeth cleaned, and Dr Young herself called me several times to give me updates on how he was doing, and when I could come pick him. Best place to adopt a doggy!!! I got my puppy yesterday! The people who work there are truly amazing. The process of adoption is well run. Please note (so you're not disappointed) that you have to have everyone who lives with you present before you can properly interact with the dog. I knew that going in on Sunday but I didn't bring everyone and then once I fell in love I had to quickly try to get schedules to work on a weekday before 5. The guy who helped us yesterday was sooooooo patient, informative, patient again and caring. I was impressed. The woman who helped Sunday was also incredible. The website is fantastic, I've been looking for a dog at different adoption facilities on and off for a few years and this website is up to date and far superior. They had plenty of great choices, but I was really feeling the one I got "Chip". I love the cute and accurate descriptions of their dogs online. You can tell they love them all. So sweet. One day while driving home from work on Old country road I saw a sign...PUPPIES! Well, the rest is history. I walked in and was greeted by very kind and sweet volunteers that had me fill out some light paperwork before I took a look at the puppies. Then, I saw the area where the puppies were! It was clean, and they were all wagging their tails. I played with just one puppy, that I immediately fell in love with. My husband came up to meet me, we filled out some pretty extensive paperwork, they called our references, and for $300, we adopted a puppy that was already spayed, had her shots and came from a kill shelter in georgia. She was full of so much love! Our adoption included a free visit, and we have been going to their vets ever since. Dr. Dipaolo and Dr Young are kind and great doctors. Elaine is a blessing, and bidawee is a perfect place to adopt your next family member. Don't buy a puppy...adopt one and give them the life they never thought possible. read more

This has to do with the dog park. People do not follow the rules. Bideawee only wants dogs registered with Bideawee in the park. Because people have given out the code, dogs are entering the park who aren't register. All dogs that are allowed in the park, must show that there animals are up to date on the dog's vaccinations. The code to enter the park was changed this passed Monday. Within 20 minutes, people were giving the code out to anyone who came to the gate. This is totally unfair to the members! The Front office has been informed. Unless you don't mind going to a park, were you don't know if the dog has had all it's vaccinations, then this is the park for you! Also, puppies from the outside are being let in. Another point, if you don't mind looking at dog poo, this park is for you! Very sad that a once beautiful park, is being ruined, not by the dogs, but their owners...:( :( :( read more
