I'm very pleased with the work. That being said my healing time is taking longer than expected but I'm hopeful that maybe after the year time frame my cut on my side will heal a little better and sooner. I was hurting from my boo boo and in a -feel- sorry -for -me mood and felt like crying until I came to the right person on the phone. His name is Jermaine, I do not know his last name. Even my grandson whom I believe would not have survived his ingrown toenails would it not have been for the podiatrist at the clinic that specialized in saving him. Seen Brittany McElhany CFNP. After being urgently referred by ER, she literally did not check on me or listen to anything that was bothering me. Did an X-ray but did not even say she looked at it! She asked why I was referred and I explained I HAD a pulled muscle in neck a month ago BUT WAS here today for EXTREME NECK/BACK pain from severe car accident years ago. Literally did nothing and prescribed me muscle relaxers that I DID NOT NEED BC I DO NOT HAVE ANY PULLED MUSCLES! I had to beg for an MRI and she instructed me to just get physical therapy and if I need a follow up appointment...let them know ...FOR WHAT!? She didn't do anything or check anything or look at anything and I have a preexisting 3rd cervical vertebral injury , 6 thoracic vertebral injury, coccyx Injury, dislocated knee cap and right rotator cuff injury that she completely ignored. She was probably in with me for less than 5 minutes after I waited a month to be seen and drove from Ocean Springs, Ms to Pascagoula, Ms! Every time I've had an appointment with Dr. Graham, it's either been rescheduled so he can go on vacation or I've waited over 2 hours to see him which today I waited 2 hours and he never even came to the room, someone else did. I was his first apt at 8:30 am and didn't get seen until 10:30. I leave here frustrated and with no answers EVERY TIME I have to come here. It was my last time. Dr. K did a surgery on me at the beginning of 2025 and usually the doctor preforming the surgery will say "hello, everything is going to be fine" prior to the surgery but she did not. At least, prior surgeries the doctors did. I was so scared when I laid down on the surgery table. I truly believe if she would have talked to me, I wouldn't have been so scared. All I needed was assurance. She blatantly ignored me, and I never once did I feel like she really cared. When my mom came to the appointment with me it was like a whole other doctor was in the room. Her bed side manner is not good. The surgery center called to check up on me after my surgery while Dr. K could have cared less. I got texts from the robot asking how I was. My foot is still not working as it should. Oh, but if you have a bill that needs to be paid, they will blow your phone up. I just feel as if I did not matter and I still feel that way. read more

**** This Review Is For The East Lake (Vancleave/Gautier) Urgent Care **** Took my wife here for an emergency as she was in pain after a recent procedure. the girl at the front desk was completely rude and had no compassion at all, NOT someone I would want working for me in the compassion & care industry! They turned us away because my wife was already a patient there to a different Dr than the ER Dr. (WTF) Then it would make more sense to see her as she is already a patient in this group. All she wanted to do was make a follow up appointment for 3 days away, when we were told by the DR. they had an urgent care in case we needed anything after the procedure. Well now we know not to ever come here again! We called my wife's Dr and was transferred to his nurse who was able to get us in right away at the Gulfport Urgent care, The Dr. there Amanda Hansen was awesome, attentive caring and helpful. (funny thing, when we got there, the whole office was aware of what happened in the Gautier Urgent care. And for the record, No, we were not looking for pain meds, just an X-ray to make sure everything was OK. There is a reason I drive an hour away to Hattiesburg, to Southern Bone & Joint, wait time has always been good to me, and the staff, the NP, the Doctors have always been friendly and take the time to listen, most my family has switched over to Southern Bone. read more

Over the past 3 years I have had 3 procedures from Dr Lewis, ACL tear from basketball injury age 56, rotator cuff left shoulder basketball and golf and right shoulder more of a bone spur arthritis debridement .. all appt , mri and medical interactions have been friendly and professional, top notch facilities , result on all procedures amazing . If you want to feel like an unvalued number, this is the place. A model for assembly line medical care. I was messaged numerous times to confirm my appt. and to stress that failure to keep the appt. would result in a $50 fee. No problem. I arrived at 1:53 for my 2:15 appt. Checked in and ready at 2:11. Taken back at 2:47. Saw Dr. Washington at 3:07. Can I charge a $50 fee for a wait time of 56 minutes? It gets better.... I was written a prescription which was sent (I found out after 5 days) to the wrong pharmacy. When I didn't receive notification from my pharmacy the next day, I called the Dr.'s office only to find out that the automated system doesn't allow you to talk to a human, only to leave a message. I left a detailed message with all required information at 11:15 AM on Friday. After no return call by 3:30 and knowing the office was closed on the weekend, I left another message. Again, no return call. My pharmacy still hadn't received the script order. I finally got my call returned Monday afternoon and discovered that they sent my order to the wrong pharmacy. I got my prescription filled after 4 days. My biggest complaint is the lack of response to two voice mails. Nobody should, for any reason, have to wait 4 days to get a prescription filled. I cancelled my follow up appointment and will not recommend this practice to anyone. read more

Praying on Elderly: My 87 yo mother was referred to them by her PC. She showed up for the appointment at the office she was told to go to and was told that the doctor she was to see had moved. She went back to her referring doctor and had them call Bienville Orthopedic to let them know. Since then my elderly mother has received threatening texts from them saying that she owes them money. 3 days later she received a hard copy of their bill. This was her first appointment with these people. Shame on you Bienville Orthepidic for trying to scam an 87 year old women out of her social security money. Update: So I paid 1800 to Bienville to replace my left knee. Surprise, I start getting calls from creditors because they haven't paid my anesthesiologist. Finally tracked down company and paid the bill. Contacted Bienville and they owe me $550 for over payment. Still waiting for that check, six months later. I just spent $120 toward my deductible and over 2 hours in the Orange Grove office. I waited 20 minutes in the waiting room, and an HOUR in the exam room waiting to see Dr. Leis for less than 5 minutes for him to tell me I need to be scheduled for surgery. When I explained that I was already put on the calendar due to his busy schedule, but he told me I need to go back in the morning to get pre-op instructions for a surgery that is not even happening for a month. The staff don't seem to care if they act professionally, either. The whole time I was sitting in the exam room I could hear them asking each other what they wanted for lunch, etc. Do they think patients cannot hear through the closed doors? A few years ago, I had such a long wait, over an hour, in the waiting room, I went to the desk and asked to have the appointment rescheduled. Is my time worth nothing to this practice? read more

This morning I woke up 2 hours early and went 25 miles out of my way to make a 10:20AM appointment at this Orange Grove facility. As usual I made sure I was on time. However the doctors have absolutely NO respect for a patients' time. They must forget that without patients they most certainly would not have the lifestyle they do. As I said my appointment was at 10:20AM. At 11AM I inquired at the front desk as to when I would be seen. Supposedly I was the next patient. At 11:45AM I once again asked when was I going to be seen. I was told this surgeon spends the same about of time with everyone and was running behind. That is just a flat out lie. At that point one of the ladies at reception went back to Dr. Cox's office to see what was going on. (I had another doc appt in Ocean Springs.) I told the the person helping me I needed to be seen by Noon so I could make the next appointment. This is what I was told: It would be 20 more minutes before I could see a PA. So that would mean I had waited 2 hours. Who knows how much longer to see the doctor. Obviously there is a God-complex. I walked out and will not go back. Doctors squeeze every penny they can out of a patient. How many of those patients may have to take UNPAID time off of work? The doctor does not care one whit about anyone. It's all about their bank account. Doctors extend professional courtesy to other doctors. HOW ABOUT THEY SHOW PATIENT COURTESY FOR ONCE IN THEIR LIVES. A 'no-star' rating is what they deserve. Absolutely the worst medical experience I have ever been subjected to. In the first place, my surgery was scheduled for 1 in the afternoon, so right from the jump I was so hungry that I was nauseous. Proceeded to wait until 5pm for my surgery to even take place. The nurse who saw to my "aftercare" if you could even call it that, was incredibly unpleasant, rude, lacked even the smallest iota of compassion and had absolutely no idea what a bedside manner should look like. Not to mention, he was in such a hurry to get me out that he didn't go over 90% of my discharge instructions and at no point was I given an opportunity to ask any post-operative questions. As for the surgery itself, I am nearly certain that I was not administered any pain medication before I woke up, considering I woke up in so much pain I was sobbing and pulling at my hair. What few instructions Nurse Jerk did give, I genuinely didn't understand or remember I was so incoherent with pain. I will never receive treatment from these people again and I would die before I recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

My father had surgery here we were first told to be here at 7 and it would last about an hour then we were he wouldn't go in till 10. 10:00 rolls around and no phone call, it is now 1:00 and still no phone call. We finally get in around 2:00 he sits on the bed for 30min he gets goes to the desk and they FORGOT about him. Skip to the end and we finally pick him up 7:00 pm keep in mind the surgery was only 1hour. read more

They will tell you they accept xyz insurance and then later say, ooops we made a mistake, sorry you have to pay for this out of pocket. They schedule appointments at different locations with no notice until you arrive at the wrong location. They do not file required paperwork in a timely fashion. Paperwork submitted on 8/17 questioned the status on 9/8 due to a HR request as to why paperwork is not received and told, oooops we forgot. The doctor we saw was condescending, not interested in listening to the patient AT ALL. Was more interested in getting in and out so they could overcharge the next patient. on my 70th birthday, I went to Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists in Pascagoula because I am having very painful ambulation. My right foot hurts when I apply pressure to the point that I cannot apply full weight. after being x-rayed, the doctor (can't remember his name) came into the room and essentially said, "there's nothing wrong with your foot." X-rays were normal and so he offered no reason why it is painful. When I showed surprise that he found nothing to explain my pain, he said in a VERY condescending tone, well, we could get an MRI if you'd like. His bedside manners and attitude screamed to me, "You are an old man and you are supposed to hurt. You are wasting my time!" This is the first time in my life I have felt totally dismissed and unimportant. I limped out of the office no better off than when I arrived. This is a terrible clinic, lacking compassion and professionalism. I truly believe that this was a case of agism/discrimination. I certainly will never return and I caution anyone else, especially if over 60 to find another clinic. read more

So I go to a doctor at Bienville, I hurt my neck about a week ago. A friend at work let me have a prescription topical pain reliever and it worked really well. So I call and talk to the nurse and she said they don't write that prescription because it doesn't have anything to do with the spine. Wth?? If it helps me with the pain why not?? She said call your primary Dr.and get it. So I have to make an appointment to see him just to get it. What the hell is wrong with these Drs? If I could put zero stars, I most definitely would. I will NOT go back to Bienville Orthopaedics. My daughter was referred to them back in March due to a displaced broken big toe. Because she is still growing (she's 5), the doctor that referred us to them wanted her to get casted so it would heal properly. We do not have insurance, so we paid $1,000 cash the day of ten appointment. We saw the doctor for five minutes, he buddy taped what was already buddy taped, and gave her a boot. We were then handed a bill for the boot and was told the $1,000 we just paid DID NOT cover it. After fighting them for months, we thought we had it resolved to get a refund check, but STILL have not received anything. We were told we would receive a refund check at the end of September and that never happened. I have called multiple times to the billing department to get this resolved and they told me we would receive a check by Black Friday we still have not received anything yet again I cannot get anyone on the phone to help me. He put in too.small of a ball and socket joint on top of my infected shoulder. I was having severe pain, swelling, and couldn't put weight on my foot. Dr. Mullens misdiagnosed me with tendonitis and put me in an air cast to WALK on it. I complained about the excruciating pain and was told by his nurse that the bone scan he had ordered was fine. I kept telling them that the boot was making the pain worse. I called my PCP and asked to have an MRI. The MRI showed a fractured fibula with syndesmotic injury! I went to another ortho dr and she said that I didn't even need the MRI, the bone scan clearly showed the problem! So now, I have to start treatment at week 5! No weight bearing on my foot for 3 weeks, then follow up for the next steps in my recovery. Dr. Mullens is supposed to be a foot and ankle specialist. He couldn't even read the bone scan! Happy I'm with another group of physicians. I was an employee when I saw him. They claim to take care of their "family " what a joke! read more

One star is far too much. Five years ago, I went to Dr. Drake with what I was sure was a torn ACL post-accident (heard audible pop, was not ambulatory for hours post-accident). My mother is a personal friend of his, and went with me to my first appt. I had just lost my health insurance in a divorce, and she asked him if we could pay cash. He agreed, and indeed, his manner was friendly & supportive. Well, that all changed when I went back for the second visit alone. Though he surely knew from physical examination exactly what my issues were, he refused to do an MRI, and told me that I really just needed to see a psychiatrist- it was "all in my head." Meanwhile, he'd extracted a huge amount of bursa fluid from my knee... I would go on to acquire needles, and learn to do that procedure to myself many times over the next year, from online videos... DIY medicine. After ACA insurance became available and the MRI, we learned that not only was my ACL torn, but also my meniscus. Years later, I went on to have a decent experience with another Bienville surgeon, but not before my life was greatly affected (the loss of my active life in sports, years in pain management, and a body that will forever be misaligned and in some degree of pain). Realize, this man knew he was turning away a patient with a significant injury. The Hippocratic oath is very simple: "First, do no harm." read more

I've had appointments with four different doctors at Bienville Ortho. The quality of medical care is great. The scheduling and care for patients' time is by far the most inefficient, unprofessional and worst I have ever experienced! Regardless of location (and they have several), there is complete disregard for their customers' time. I waited more than three months for an initial appointment with Dr. Graham, then five months for an appointment for my MRI results. My primary care physician requested the results and is still waiting too. There is a minimum 90 minute wait to see a doctor when you arrive. Sometimes two hours or more. I recently arrived a few minutes early for my appointment, waited more than 90 minutes and never saw my doctor. I had to leave for another commitment. Bienville Ortho's only concern was whether I had seen anyone (Physician's Asst), so that they could bill insurance. They couldn't care less that the doctor didn't see me in nearly two hours. If your time is valuable to you, or you expect results of images or tests to be shared with your primary doctor, please look at other options. As a practice, Bienville Ortho just doesn't care. read more
