It is a Farmers…read moreMarket that is held every Friday from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. They block off the streets, and there's plenty of parking nearby. There are lots of food booths (mostly Mexican food) and several other booths selling a variety of items. Taquiza Sinaloense immediately caught my husband's eye, and he ordered a soft taco with chorizo and potato. It was delicious! I wanted to walk around the entire place before ordering more food from Taquiza Sinaloense. There was a really nice lady there who told us that their food is the best, and she said she knew we'd be back. She was right! Although other booths had appetizing food, it just didn't compare. Their presentation was beautiful! We each ordered a plate, which included rice, beans, and our choice of two items. The guy who helped us was so nice and let me sample a few items before I made my decision. My husband ordered chile verde and beef. I ordered chipotle chicken and this amazing mixture of chiles, corn, and cheese. OMG! It was incredibly delicious! Each plate was $14, which is a great price since we both had leftovers. We will definitely go back. I will try to order food from different vendors next time. If you decide to check this place out, make sure to try Taquiza Sinaloense! You won't be sorry!

This is a smaller market/festival that seems to cater a lot to the local neighborhood crowd, but it's active and there are a variety of street vendors, which mostly seems to sell various types of Mexican food, but I didn't see everything, so there might be foods from other countries as well. When we went, there wasn't any music, but maybe that starts later and we didn't really stay long since you can walk through the whole market pretty quickly. But if you live nearby and want something to do on a Friday night, this isn't a bad place to check out.

Visitors are greeted by colorful and festive lights as soon as they approach the entrance. There's plenty of security, some armed that watch over the crowd. Staff in yellow jackets will direct visitors. Overall, it's pretty well organized and a friendly group. The main attraction is the light show that takes place every 1/2 hour. This year (2019) the story was about Jesus accompanied by music and synchronized light show. It's pretty good. Next to the light show is set up like a little village. One tent allows kids to do crafts. Others have hot cider or cocoa. Members are dressed in biblical characters and offer to tell stories of God. There's also a sign that points to the Cafe. It's essentially a carnival style trailer that sells drinks and snacks with a limited menu. This year, there are also tables set up that sold everything from cupcakes to skewers. We tried their chicken and bbq pork skewers, and they were all good at an amazing price. Sadly, I overheard someone say this is their last year. There are donation boxes placed throughout, as well as garbage bins. So be generous and responsible, make a nice donation and don't litter. There are even staff members that bring photo lights and offer to help you take family pictures. The Lights on Miracle Hill is a great way to spend an evening if you're not driving too far. Need to know: You'll need to park in the surrounding neighborhood. There is no public parking lot. There are no valets. You'll just have to drive around and look for a spot. You may get lucky, or if you aren't lazy, go farther than where others aren't willing to go. Homeowners's driveways are marked by cones. So obey them and don't block anyone's path. Even though they have heat lamps, dress warm See my photos!

The show starts 10 minutes from the actual time they announce online. Giving people who are running late, some leeway. The music, songs and the church itself is breathtaking. If you come early enough, you can grab a seat, otherwise your standing but honestly there are no bad seats/standing area. At the end of the show, there are volunteers that will take pics for you & even hold hand held lights up to give you the perfect selfie/pic. It does get packed, so come early to find parking. Also, reserve free tickets online 1st, there were two lines, one with tickets, one without, the one without was long. They also sell food, balloon lights, drinks, hot chocolate and areas for kid activities. Can't wait to come back next year and make this a yearly tradition. P.S. also, a lot of the homes put cones on the sidewalks to block people from parking right in front of their house. They can't do that, its public right of way, so just move the cone and park.

This takes place in downtown Covina. The main street (Citrus) and a number of side streets are blocked off. All of the classic cars are lined up along both sides of Citrus. Various vendors are located along the side streets, Beer and food is located in Heritage Park. We passed all the signs that announced preferred parking for $10. We found free parking on a street a few blocks away. The walk over was not too bad. Walking down Citrus you pass by all these amazing cars. It is mindboggling how many are here, My son-in-law has been to many car shows like this in Southern California. He says Thunderfest is the best show he has been to. It is absolutely amazing, There were a lot of people on the street but it did not hinder us from walking along and looking at the cars. Everybody seemed to be enjoying the day. There were no people behaving badly. There were a good number of families with small children here. We walked down one of the side streets and looked at some of the vendor booths. They had a stage set up on one of the streets, A band was playing classic Led Zepplin. It sounded pretty good. We went to Heritage Park and got something to drink. They had a number of vendors selling craft beer, They were also selling snacks and carnival type foods. We were here about three hours. We really enjoyed our time here. There was no admission charge. It only costs you if you buy food, drinks or whatever else is being sold.. This is great event and I will definitely go back.

One of the highlights was the small circus-style show featuring bikes and motorcycles, which was entertaining and added a unique touch. The acrobat portion was fairly short and ended up being my least favorite part of the event. The lighting and visual effects were absolutely amazing. There seemed to be a blend of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz themes throughout the experience. While the visuals were beautiful, I think it would have been even better if they had fully committed to one theme rather than mixing elements together. My favorite part was exploring the many small rooms scattered throughout the venue. Each room was decorated differently, and it was a lot of fun discovering all the creative details and designs. I do hope that future versions stay more consistent with the chosen theme instead of sprinkling in random figurines that don't quite fit. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and I'd happily return next year to see what they create next.

They offer some great deals for local residents as well as on weeknights. We stopped by here the other night after my birthday dinner. It was a little chilly and windy, but there were so many cool things to see and do here. Talk about a plethora of options for photo ops and selfies! The Wizard of Oz theme is cool. There's a couple rooms that don't seem to follow the theme, which helps mix it up a bit. There's also a "circus" which looks like a lot of BMX and dirt bikes. We heard it and saw some of the performance, but it's a very small area of the attraction, so we were more interested in everything else. We ended up staying here almost two hours and they were getting ready to close. This is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something fun and different to do in the area.

With the pandemic still very much so at large, we are very limited to these types of experiences, but Insomniac was able to pull this off, while still keeping everyone safe. The only downfall (and quite big IMO), was the wait time to enter the first weekend. We waited over an hour to enter GA, and eventually was asked if we wanted to upgrade to VIP for $50. I wish we were asked this in the beginning, but I wonder if they've been able to fix this problem since then. Also, if anyone has attended this and knows the link to the official playlist on Spotify, please send it my way! I'd love to bookmark this entire playlist to listen in my car.

Yeah, it adds up and it doesn't seem worth it, but if there's 8 of you in the car and split the tab, it isn't too bad. We came through on a Friday night. We opted for the VIP package and bypassed pretty much everyone (that line looked like a thousand miles long, so that alone threw all regrets, doubts and second thoughts out the window!) Bypassing the long line was one thing, but then my passengers' bladders decided to go in sync and in unison all needed a bathroom break BEFORE the drive. The VIP package came in handy once again - they have a separate set of porta-potties for VIP peeps, too! Needless to say, there were no lines there either. So, yeah, off to a good start. I didn't really know what to expect, so I decided not to expect too much. There were a lot of mixed reviews on Yelp (complaints were mostly about the cost) so I kept an open mind. THE VERDICT: Totally WORTH IT. This whole production was well put-together. It was beautifully created with a lot of imagination. The engineering and construction alone were astonishing, how long did it take them to put it all up! And I really liked that they coordinated all the lights' movements with the music coming off the assigned radio station (107.9.) And those souls braving the cold as they entertained us with their dance moves... KUDOS! (I didn't get to see what's in the VIP box but going by how each of my passengers went through it like the Tasmanian Devil, I'm gonna assume whatever was in there was fun!) If this is your thing, here are a few tips: 1) Entry is at Holly and Huntington NOT at the main entrance. If you do end up at the main entrance, they'll reroute you. No worries. 2) You can come through as early as 30 minutes before your scheduled time, but try to be there within that window just for the sake of being considerate. The whole thing is about 45 minutes to an hour, all depending on how slow or fast you go. 3) CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELDS! I meant to, but I completely forgot. But even with the semi-dirty glass, it was still pretty good. 4) Sunroofs are great! I didn't have one (wouldn't have mattered if I did since I was the one behind the wheel) but I was sorta jealous of the peeps who made full use of it. I imagine that's the best way to experience it. 5) You are allowed to open your windows. Just watch out for fog machines... 6) Take your time and let it all sink in. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it, something cool to do social distancing style. It's an event for all ages and a great excuse to get out of the house more especially during these challenging times.
