If ur wanting something a bit different.. This is the one. The Big D burger is a standout ... The combination of infused slaw with pulled meat works! and is definitely "that" taste journey I will return for! Also tried their KFC as well.. bit salty for my liking..

Ok yeh, Maccas does Brioche now but do they do it with amazing cut meats or southern fried chicken? I was confused as to what to call this place as it serves up an array of Americana type dishes with interesting add ons. What you can say is Dexter pulls off a very unusual offering while still being casual enough to not feel you need a PhD to understand the menu. I ordered the Big Dexter. Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket.... wow it was yum. I usually do the half way swap with the wife so we can experience more of the menu but there was no hope for this one. This was accompanied by Shoe String Fries finished with a BBQ Rub. .... Hold up. I can't forget... I actually started with a can of Tecate and Burnt Siracha Corn. Which was a great introduction to a lazy Sunday at Dexter. Can't wait to go back! Apparently the meat donuts are in high demand

I ordered a Batman and robin with a side of sujuk . what can I say, to put it simply it was the best toastie of my life!! It was served with a side of pickle onion which I took a bite of first just to line the stomach soon after I took a bite of sujuk sausage which I have never tried before and addicted too now, this is when I knew I was in for something special. The Batman and Robin wagu beef crispy beef strip which looked like bacon then topped with their famous cheese blend . Mouth watering just thinking about it now! I know were I'm going on Monday! well done guys keep up the great work.. one happy customer!!

Ordered two lattes, the Batman & Robin, the Lenny & Carl, a side of poutine fries and some pickles. We were the only ones waiting at the time, and everything was made to order which was good to see. However, the coffee beans weren't fresh and both coffees - one soy, one regular - were bland and luke warm, sort of tasting like warmed up milk. The sandwiches were much smaller than expected, based on photos from the Cheese and Bread social media pages. The Lenny & Carl was flavourless. It contains the "house cheese blend", bechamel and macaroni and cheese - however if you had told me it was just a singular cheese type in there, I wouldn't have been surprised. I guess I was expecting the usual American-cheesy flavour you'd get from macaroni and cheese, combined with a creamy bechamel. The Batman & Robin was slightly better, however - as my partner pointed out to me - the names of the sandwiches at Cheese and Bread follow a pattern of 'two things that go awesomely together', and the beef patty and beef slice were just okay, not awesome. The poutine fries were also lacking in flavour. The fries weren't salted, and there was barely any gravy or cheese. A good poutine should be smothered in gravy with cheese all through the fries, whereas this was maybe a small ladle of gravy with a sprinkle of packet tasty cheese on top. The person who served us was really friendly, and I suppose it was cool being able to have someone come take your order from you car and then make it on the spot, but the quality and flavour just wasn't there - and for $10 a sandwich, next time I feel the urge for a cheesy toasty, I'll use the money to go and buy more flavoursome ingredients and make it myself at home.

All hail the ale! All cheer the beer!…read more Another local haunt of mine. The clue's in the name as to why this is an absolute must destination if you love craft beer (and if you don't, you're wrong); one of the best in Melbourne in my opinion. There's always some interesting beers to try and the selection of 12 constantly rotating taps keeps things interesting. The place is laid back, service friendly and knowledgeable, only downside is that it's not the cheapest place to drink but the quality and variety of beers makes it worth the price. There's also A/C ( very welcome on days like today; 38C). There's a small garden out back which is usually pretty quiet. Haven't tried the food but they have some daily specials which seem popular.

The lure of twelve rotating beer taps, delicious food (including some of, if not THE best onion rings I've ever eaten) and a great atmosphere is a little too much to resist for much longer. The Alehouse staff are very knowledgeable, as you would expect in a beer nirvana such as this. It gets busy in here, but it's usually quiet enough to have a quick chat with them as you try and decide which one of the delicious beverages on offer you will have. They're more than happy to let you taste test one before you commit to a full glass too. A great choice of beers are on offer and you're bound to find something you like on the rotating taps (the upcoming beers are listed on a wall next to the bar), but if you don't like anything on tap check out the beer fridges or even try one of their beer cocktails! In the front of the bar there are comfy couches along one side, with larger tables on the other side. In the adjoining room is the same setup, though this can be booked for private functions and it's also where the Wednesday night Trivia Night is held. Trivia is free, fun, and prizes include a bar tab, so you really can't go wrong with that. Out the back is a beer garden with a mix of tables and chairs in a variety of shapes and sizes, with a shady tree or two thrown in for good measure. As I mentioned, the food is great here. The first time I popped in the kitchen was being renovated and my order of fries was forgotten, but since then service has been prompt and the food delicious when it has arrived. I've been to Alehouse a few times now and will keep going back. I have managed to resist jumping off the tram to pop in so far, somehow but that won't last long...especially with an all too convenient tram stop right outside!
