i had seen the Mountain Mobile Vet truck in my area, Blairsville, and weeks before the time came to…read moresay goodbye to my Buddy, i had called him to see if he would come out. i currently use Copper Basin Vet Clinic, but ever since Dr Mitchell sold the clinic and moved to south Georgia, their prices have tripled, and the service has gone down......i didn't want to traumatize Buddy by taking him to the clinic to say goodbye.....Dr Kinsey came out, not accepting new patients, but he told me, for this he would come to me, and while saying goodbye SUCKS, it was the best possible experience, under the circumstances, that i could've hoped for. i held Buddy in my arms until he was gone, Dr Kinsey didn't rush me, and if i'd have known then what i know now, i would've done this every time i've had to say goodbye (way too many times over the years). and the cost was very reasonable..... i only wish he was taking new patients....

Ga area and now we have retired here. I met Dr. Kinsey when I purchased my horses and he was the only vet in this area that would travel to where the horses were at and do a pre-purchase check up. I had an issue with a horse last year , hoof issue. He again responded quickly and provided me with medication and treatment needed daily twice a day. Now we have sold all our horses. We are full time residents in Young Harris now and we will use him for our 3 dogs, German Shepherd, A Chowski, Husky-Chow mix and our older Terrier . He's efficient, knowledgeable and just a all around great vet.

I have to start out by saying... I have gone here for many years, I used to see Dr.Todd, I liked…read morehim due to his experience and his way with all types of animals. And to me it seemed like he really cared. I have recently been here twice and each time was a far from great experience. The pro is that it is clean. Here's the cons.... They are extremely over priced, example to give regular fluids they charged me 61.00! ( for 75 ml, the invoice said 250 ml?) I wish they would have given me the rest since they charged me for it. After I went to another vet and the same exact fluids ( with a little bit more quantity 100 ml, was 18.00!) I don't mind paying for my pet's health but they are just blatantly ridiculous. They are double or more the price of any other. That I do not understand. The two most recent veterinarian's I have seen to me they weren't like the vet I have now, (you can just tell he has a lot of experience and is very confident) I did not get that same feeling with either of them, I brought two different pets in at two different times and left not knowing anything. I left feeling not confident with this vet just like the time before with another vet there. She also wanted to take blood work because she couldn't say what it might be without blood work... so I go and visit another vet the next day for a second opinion and he said that blood work is NOT necessary at this time. So to me they either are not confident in their knowledge or they want to run up the services, either way is not comfortable to me. The last vet I saw there scared me to death telling me so many horrible things it "could be" and like I said I went to someone else the next day and he told me the opposite, thank God he was right! This clinic has always been high priced but at least when Dr.Todd was here it was worth it, not anymore.

The vets, Dr. Brytz and Dr. Todd are thorough, caring, explain everything and follow up to make sure our pets are doing well following treatment. Everyone there adores animals and it shows in their treatment and also how they help strays and needy animals in the community. Both of our dogs are on their wellness plan which we feel is well worth the cost, especially for our senior dogs, one of which is a type 1 diabetic that requires extra care. Their dental cleanings are excellent and help keep our dogs healthy and thriving. If you are in the area and looking for a vet, they are the best and worth every penny!

Update: I received a call today from one of the owners of the clinic apologizing after she read…read morethis review and has refunded the $150. I am going to use them again and I've changed this review from one star to four star based on the care they provided which I'm very happy with. Not giving a five yet based on my initial concern and Kristans (sp?) attitude when I called with my concerns. Christy (sp?) was the one how was polite and listened to my concerns and provided the refund. Iwanted to love this practice but after two visits I'm disappointed. Dr Robbie was great, she seems to really know her stuff. The first visit went well, they were short on a one of the meds. When we went back they gave us a med we'd already received but not the balance of what we were short.... We had already paid for it and when I called they said they'd given us the correct med. Tet that one go. The second visit was a financial disaster. They offer a drop off service where they try to fit you into the schedule which seemed really awesome. I called to make an appt and was told to drop my cat off but if they didn't fit him in by 5:00 pm it would be an extra $150. Itold her I didn't want to pay the charge so wanted an appt for the following day. She said she thought they'd get him that day so I told her if they didn't I would pick him up by 5 and drop him off the next morning. We arrive at 4:15, are told testing is being done. We told the receptionist we would step out and come back, she said be sure to get back by five to avoid the fee. We got back at 4:35. We waited and waited and the vet came out at 5:15 to tell us the findings. They charged us $150 in addition to the fees for the visit and refused to refund us. They also charged me for a dose of something for fleas which I didn't ask for he has never had fleas, he's an indoor cat I'm really disappointed.

When a practice has an entire giant room dedicated to expensive non proven vet only food, you can get the vibe. OWe took our cat, who has had asthma his entire life in when he got a cold (URI) and they wanted $1000 of treatment and tests including an MRI. If you took your child to a pediatrician for a cold, and he wanted to do an MRI ... you would go elsewhere. Anyway, they hold your pet for ransom with inflated costs, unnecessary tests and when you question it, as I did with the office manager, they become quite nasty. Among the most aggressive customer disservice I have experienced in my 66 year lifetime. BTW, they also own the Bryson City Vet, which uses the same model. We found a legitimate vet that we travel to an hour and a half round trip, that is far, far better.

My niece just graduated from N C. State where she rode for the equestrian team. I graduated from UNC Asheville. I brought my pup to get her shots and to be fixed. I had rescued the puppy from a horribly abusive situation. I also looked like I needed rescuing. Three months prior to that I was in involved in a catastrophic head on collision that left my shoulder blade shattered, twenty ribs and my breast bone broken, my right hip was broken, my knee was mush and had to be totally replaced. The same leg was compound fractured. My ankle, the top of my foot and my toes were broken into a million peices. I looked like I had gone through the windshield of a couple of cars and to be honest my attitude reflected it. They took excellent care of my pup and received their money. What happened next was outrageous. Accusations of a puppy mill, a dog fighting rink, and just general abuse of an animal. No one believed me about the origin of the pup and nobody had the guts to accuse me straight out. Inuindoes and back biting was the order of the day. The experience was truly unbelievable, profoundly disapointing, and was indicative of a group of people that thought way to much of themselves. It was beyond hurtful. In fairness I was supposed to meet her in private and discuss this but she certainly didn't afford me the same courtesy. All in all it is a good vet practice but also quite a bit holy than thou. P.S. Just about the time I was getting my pup tended to my Father and our farm (Seven Meadows Farm) in Brasstown were being inducted into Western North Carolina Farming Hall Of Fame for sustainable farming. I wish things had gone differently to say the least.
