Seems like the only place in town that always has something different to look at - it's not all 9mm and ARs, but they stock some genuinely eclectic stuff. 4-barrel derringer? Yep. A couple of Kunas on the wall? Yep. SP5? You know it! Is that a .50 BMG? I think so! Also, they don't sell junk. I've probably bought 10-15 firearms here (both new and used) and I've not had a problem yet - though I have a suspicion that the owner would find a way to help out me out if I did. Came in today on an appointment to get an NFA engraving done. Josh was ready at the time we set up, which was awesome, he double and triple checked everything with me and even showed me the setup to verify that it was right before doing it, he was very "measure twice, cut once" which I appreciate considering he was about to burn lettering into an expensive item with a laser beam. Took under 10 minutes today, and the work looks great. The rest of the shop is a good pawn shop, with a heavy emphasis on firearms, lots of used guns there, as well as some ammo, holsters/accessories/optics, etc. In addition there's some electronics and tools. I also noted that their FFL transfers are at a reasonable price, which is quite appreciated. I recently purchased a firearm from a mid west Company which by law had to be sent through an FFL or someone who is licensed to receive and send firearms. Most places in the Goose Creek, and Ladson area charge $25-$75 just to receive a firearm on a customer's behalf. Big Bucks in Ladson charged me $10. This proves that The folks at Big Bucks truly are second Amendment people and want to be your local go to Gun shop. The woman who waited on me was efficient and was able to get me in and out even with filling out all the necessary paperwork in no more than 15 minutes. And I saw some real beauties of the firearm persuasion, sitting in the display cases. Classic older Smith & Wesson revolvers, a personal favorite of mine. Tools that looked so unique, I had to ask how some of them are operated -- what their intended purpose was, it was a great learning time for me, I enjoyed every technical detail. Pleanty of electronic, jewelry, rare coins and much more. But what really separates Big Buck from the other pawn shops, is Josh's personal approach. His knowledge is boundless, his kind way of addressing customers put me immediately at ease, a true gentleman. I've heard the pawn industry had consolidated and many of the single store operations have been gobbled up by the big nationals. I went to the pawn shop to pawn my grandmother's engagement ring. she left it to me and it was way too small and wasn't really worth sizing and I had no children to give it to at the point. And needing cash for Christmas After researching it for the gold and the diamond that was in it she came back and said everything's authentic I can offer you 30 bucks. I said no because I know when my grandmother bought it it was a worth more. So I went to another Cash for gold place and they gave me $65 for it. I know you need to make money but too discount it that much is ridiculous I will not ever go to them again if needed. I will also make sure my friends know about what happened. read more

I was greeted as a piece of dirt from the second I walked in! I was there to pawn my generator. It is a craftsman 3500 with maybe 6 hrs on it. Do you want a loan or do you want to sell, is what I was greeted with. I will sell for 200 but anything less I want a loan! "I'll give you 150 no loan thats all I can do", she said. With no other option because its after 6pm and there is nothing else I had no choice. This place and all the rest are rude and disrespectful. This was my first time entering a pawn shop and I was a little apprehensive. The owner, Josh and his wife, made me and my husband feel very welcomed. I didn't browse the store because we came there for a purpose. They have a very nice selection of guns and all are more than reasonably priced. They did not have what my husband was looking for but they suggested someone that did have that particular style and efficiently arranged contact and then handled the transfer. The firearm transfer is $25 (discounted to $10 for military, police officers and first responders). We will be using Big Bucks in the future and highly recommend. read more
