Many are happy with this company. I unfortunately am not. 2 stars is only because someone did come…read moreout to see what work needed to be done. This was on Aug 21st. I accepted the quote but and was told I would find out the following week when we would be scheduled. Never heard from them. I called the office 2 times to question when I would be scheduled. The office Asst said call back next week if you don't hear back. I did and was told someone would call me the following day. To this day I am still waiting. I guess our job was just too small and they truly were not interested. I find it hard to believe a tree company is so busy that they can't even call back after a month. We no longer need services from this company. We contacted another company. They were out within 48 hrs. They did an excellent job. Today is Sept 19th

When we first moved in, we noticed that the tree looked like it had been sealed with some black tar and we worried about its health. We called West Michigan Tree Services to come take a look at it, and they gave us some advice and a care plan. They treated the tree and injected some fertilizer into the roots. They did some other work to it as well in order to give it the best possible outcome. I'd hate to lose this tree, so I'm willing to invest some money into its care. Each spring I receive a tree care contract via email that includes the cost of service for that year and what will be done. If you pre-pay before a certain date, you get a 10% discount, and the work is done that spring. We've been doing this for the past few years, and our tree is looking great! I'm so thankful for the certified arborists and staff for helping us care for our tree. They also provide tree removal and stump grinding, pruning, and land and lot clearing services.

Absolutely horrible customer service. His response was I don't look at calendars.  Then I asked if he could come on the 8Th. and he said yes. I asked what time, and zero response. I followed up 8 hours later and he said I don't schedule out that far.  I told him don't bother. We are working professionals and the lack of customer service is zero.  We'll never bother reaching out to you again.

They have fantastic equipment and they are very skilled at operating it. However, my recommendation is to get a second opinion before you make a decision....wish I had. We had two sets of co-dominant trees that they highly recommended to be cut down because they were potentially dangerous trees (could fall on the house) with a supposed carpenter ant infestation in the one pair. After the trees were cut down it turned out to there was zero evidence of rot or carpenter ants. The tree did have a big fault line where the two trees connected at the stem which was a cause for concern because it causes weakness in both trees. Dustin mentioned cabling the tree and doing plant care but it was going to be thousands of dollars with no guarantee of success (if it actually had rot which it turned out it did not). I understand that no one knows the true state of a tree till they get into the work but I am beyond sad that I cut down 60+ year old oak trees that maybe didn't need to be removed after all. So I'd definitely suggest getting a second opinion if you're not completely sure. Also, he did not put tar over the stumps and now it appears I have oak wilt happening which needs to be addressed.
