Many are happy with this company. I unfortunately am not. 2 stars is only because someone did come out to see what work needed to be done. This was on Aug 21st. I accepted the quote but and was told I would find out the following week when we would be scheduled. Never heard from them. I called the office 2 times to question when I would be scheduled. The office Asst said call back next week if you don't hear back. I did and was told someone would call me the following day. To this day I am still waiting. I guess our job was just too small and they truly were not interested. I find it hard to believe a tree company is so busy that they can't even call back after a month. One of my favorite parts of our backyard is the crimson king maple tree. It gives plenty of shade for my hammock in the summer and is a great spot to see different birds throughout the year, including a bunch of woodpeckers. When we first moved in, we noticed that the tree looked like it had been sealed with some black tar and we worried about its health. We called West Michigan Tree Services to come take a look at it, and they gave us some advice and a care plan. They treated the tree and injected some fertilizer into the roots. They did some other work to it as well in order to give it the best possible outcome. I'd hate to lose this tree, so I'm willing to invest some money into its care. Each spring I receive a tree care contract via email that includes the cost of service for that year and what will be done. If you pre-pay before a certain date, you get a 10% discount, and the work is done that spring. We've been doing this for the past few years, and our tree is looking great! I'm so thankful for the certified arborists and staff for helping us care for our tree. They also provide tree removal and stump grinding, pruning, and land and lot clearing services. read more

Round 2 of tree clean up by Sav-A-Tree and the fantastic updated "A" team of Arrow, Alex, and new member Arron, plus Joe! The team did a great job with their amazing spider lift to go up at least 60' to clear a large limb from one of our trees. Definitely a scary job, but they were up to the task. You would never know they were even in our yard with the marvelous clean-up they did of the leaves and miscellaneous branches that fell along with the tree limb. Absolutely going to request the "A" team for our next round of tree work by Sav-A-Tree!!!! read more

Who knew moving to Michigan from Kansas, we would encounter tornados...! Well, good thing Sav-A-Tree was available to remove two trees from our roof and multiple more trees from the yard! On July 11th, I requested a quote to have an arborist come out and advise/trim/return to health, 13 pine trees and trimming of another tree. I was told "Nick" would be out to check the job and get back to us. On July 16th I asked when he might possibly be out. I hire this company often to care for my wooded property. I appreciate that the estimates are done by an arborist, not some guy that woke up and decided he's an arborist. They fertilize trees, survey for trees that proactively need to come down (this is why you want an arborist), and prune trees to keep them healthy and protect my home. This time they trimmed trees along my driveway and 4 in my back yard. Two huge branches needed to come down, without hitting my vinyl fence right below it. They harness themselves for safety, and rope each limb to control its fall. They use wireless headphones built into their safety helmets to communicate while they work, so I felt safe throughout. Then, they chipped up the limbs, raked up all the twigs, and used a leaf blower to clear my driveway. Highly recommend!! read more

We were very pleased with the crew we had for over eight hours at our property. Brian is an exceptional climber and did a excellent job thinning and pruning our locust trees. Cody worked well assisting Brian and did an exceptional job cleaning up all the branches, large and small. There was another crew member, but unfortunately I can't recall his name, who worked well with both Brian and Cody. They arrived on time and besides a lunch break, worked hard all day. They crew was friendly and did all they could to accommodate any requests we had. They left our yard cleanly raked. We would not hesitate to use West Michigan Tree Services again. read more
