Very thankful for this, so if you make a mistake EMAIL the company DON'T CALL. I did the mini rug, which is a great size. I had a lot of fun with my date and felt comfortable with using the machine. I don't remember the girl name but she was really helpful and nice. She checked on you throughout the class but also gave you enough space to do your rug making. The guy did a great job at the beginning of class explaining how to use the machine and what not to do. You will have enough time to complete your rug and take it home the same day. Make sure you have a few images on your phone before attending the class. You can google *blank* coloring page, this will help you get the outline of your imagine.

I'm glad I was able to find a sessions that worked with my schedule and book the day before! The teachers are fantastic - they anticipate errors or issues we might have, are always willing to help and provide feedback, and overall provide a really safe and fun learning environment. I love that you can pick any colors and have full creative freedom. The large rug size is also a really nice canvas to make a variety of things without being too big. We were able to finish our designs in 4 hours, and the teachers were graciously flexible with their timeline. Overall highly recommend!

The Caladium Arts and Crafts Co-Op is a non profit that was created in 1992 by three Lake Placid Artists: Carol Mills, Harriet Porter, and Suellen Robinson. The ladies wanted to create a place for local artists and crafters to display and market their creations to the public. The store is like Etsy shop that you can walk around in person. Artists join the co-op so they can sell their creations. There are approximately 50 artists selling painted furniture, crochet blankets, tote bags, wreaths, trinket boxes, tea towels, note cards, jewelry, aprons, glasses, holiday decorations, faux floral arrangements, Christmas ornaments, art work for the wall, and more. I especially loved the delicate caladium earrings which were perfect for the festival. Everyone who was working was so kind and warm to me and the prices were more than fair for such skilled handiwork in the mediums of wood, textiles, glass, canvas, and metal. In addition to selling the work of artists, the co-op also has a room in the back that offers a variety of classes. You can view the current offerings on Facebook. A recent project was a rope bowl. If I lived locally I would be a regular visitor to this inspirational and welcoming space.

I loved this venue and the vendors were so sweet and amazing. It was really spacious and, although I was prepared to spend, I left with more than I intended to. After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to COVID, the event returned in 2021 in a smaller format at The Backyard before expanding to larger venues like Revolution Live and the War Memorial Auditorium. I recently attended the Indie Craft Bazaar at the historic War Memorial Auditorium, which has just undergone a multi-million-dollar renovation by the Florida Panthers. The venue--flexible enough to host concerts and large-scale events--was the perfect setting. The bazaar runs from 12-5 PM and features over 95 vendors, with free admission and parking. It's also very family-friendly. I had a great time browsing a wide variety of handmade, artisan, vintage, and locally made goods. There was everything from jewelry, live plants, and clothing to crystals, candles, bath products, accessories, stickers, crochet flowers, baked goods, and stationery. One standout for me was the upcycled concert T-shirts from Backstage Trends. They also offer fun extras like free swag bags for the first 100 guests, DIY activities, and food and drinks from The Federal. Plus, you can even go ice skating next door at the Baptist Health IcePlex. It's easy to pair the Indie Craft Bazaar with other activities in Holiday Park and make a full day of it. I'm so glad I finally got to experience this unique and vibrant market!
