I am sharing my negative experience with Big Daddy's Metal. This company lacks integrity and professionalism. I paid $5900 for a gate that was supposed to be fabricated, but I was misled for over a year with constant excuses such as truck breakdowns and workers died related to COVID-19. The owner used manipulative tactics, including invoking God and sharing personal stories to gain trust. Despite promises, the gate was never delivered, and there were false claims about health issues like cancer to avoid accountability. Communication was inconsistent, and there were delays in returning the automatic gate opener . Even after they received a refund from the automatic gate opener, they failed to provide the refund to me. They led me on. They deposit a test deposit of $5 to my account and promised to send the rest but never did His family members were also involved in the deception. They lied, deceived and cheated customers out of millions of dollars. I was misled and frustrated by the lack of transparency and integrity in their business practices. Based on my experience, I would caution others to be wary of engaging with Big Daddy's Metal. It's important to choose businesses that prioritize honesty and customer satisfaction. Listen, do deal with unlicensed, uninsured business. Pay the extra money. It's not worth the savings. If it's too good to be true, it is. I know we want to support small business, but do your research, ask for references, follow-up on reference, dont be rushed. Ask for their credentials, protect yourself and money from these criminals. This gentleman does not even deserve a 1 star rating. He is a scam artist. He will ask for money up front for materials and will constantly ask for more. Will do minimal work until he gets it and Once he does, he is gone and never finishes the job. He says he has a medical condition and cancer and will be out of town for treatment or he is sick etc and I truly felt for him as he was a referral to us. But now, to see he is still ripping people off and taking their money that they worked hard for. I was scammed out of over $20K. My fence is still not completed, actually still has blue tape on it where he was suppose to come fix mistakes and he never came back. I have not heard from since July of 2021. And at that time, he only responded because my 20+ foot gate's weld broke and fell..... My daughter, pets, husband or myself could have been near that gate when that weld gave.... Shows his workmanship as well. Never once came back out after that incident and has stayed far away. I got a quote for my fence to be fixed and for the misktakes to be fixed... over $10,000. I told him I would like my money back so I was able to get it fixed properly and not have to worry. Then he stated in text he was "working on getting it to me" and Never heard another word. They do incompetent work, my gate leans and will not lock properly. I paid for a 15' (clearance) fence, which is reflected on the estimate, and all I got was a wobbly 13.5-foot gate. Because of this, I am unable to have a proper driveway completed and unable to move certain sized vehicles safely in and out of my yard due to the wrong-sized gate clearance. I included photos of the issues and he keeps saying that he is unaware of any issues. He is unaware because he does not check on his workers or the project, except to get paid! The owner is very dishonest, stating that he would come by and look at the issues with the fence only to block me on Facebook messenger, which is how we communicated. He will lie about his workers being sick, then that he is working on a project out of town. Do not believe him, these are either more delay tactics or simply lies. Every contractor that comes out to do work around the gate comments how wobbly and poorly constructed it is. The gate was incompetently completed on June 24, 2022, and the owner blocked me on September 16, 2022, without resolving the multiple issues. If I could give a negative 5 star, I would. Bad Experience!!! Do not trust Big Daddy's Metal Works! I contracted this company in January 2022 and the fence is still incomplete (6 months later). Gerard will give you excuse after excuse of why they did not show up. Its been 6 months, no motor, incomplete welds, incomplete paint job and this was relatively a small job. This company does not pre-plan, and for the work they did do, they did wrong. Do NOT go with this company, and IF YOU do... DO NOT PAY THEY UPFRONT! They will leave you hanging and you will have to reach out to Gerard again and again and again. I will have to go to the courts in order for this company to listen to my complaint. read more

I paid 23,000 for a fence job that is still not finished 13 months later. I also had them strip and repaint a gated entrance to my property and it immediately began to peal off and looks terrible. They have promised repeatedly to fix the fence paint and finish the fence job. They make appointments to come and they never show up or call. They give me excuses constantly. The business owner, Jerry Avila is a con artist & a theif. I paid $15,000 in November of 2020 for a fence with 2 gate motors. Once he got paid, he never showed back up to complete the job. I've contacted him several times a week for months & he always has an excuse. My $5,000 gate motors have yet to be delivered & my gates have not been finished even though he was paid in full. RUN....If I could give negative 5 stars I would. Please do not do business with this man I was taken for over $21k. He needed this money to pick up my supplies he ordered to start my fence so I provided it. From then he states he was sick all the time and that he was closing his business last year and I would be his last job then he filed for bankruptcy but is still willing to take another job I see. I'm in the medical field so I felt sorry for him and gave him chance after chance but when I got a call from a lady who attended the hearing for the bankruptcy I was unable to attend and she has so far calculated he has taken those who showed up and me for over $125K, I realized he is making a living off of everyone and doing nothing for them. I received nothing but excuses from him and after sending the Marshals to his home for theft I got maybe 7 post put into the ground and that was it. Do not believe these people or you will be broke and without anything to show for it like us. I cannot afford to get my property fenced how I want to because I have had to pay others to keep my animals and I'm out all of this money from this company.
