Luckily I had some friends and family to help me because they helped me load and later unload my items which expedited a process that PowerMoverz dragged on The biggest offense came at the end when my time came out to 2 hours and 10 minutes and main guy told me that they round up BY THE HOUR so I would be charged for 3 hours. He got angry when I asked him where that's listed in the contract. All in all, my PowerMoverz experience was extremely disappointing.

Ok, there is a level of service which is far below one star, to a point of sincere, belly holding,…read moreside splitting humor. This is ADAIR MOVERS. Think Urkel, Mr. Bean, and Barney Fife all rolled into one! At multiple times during this very, very long day, you would think, 'they are just trying to be funny,' but they are not. It's natural for them. Briefed him that the kitchen had an excessive amount of kitchen supplies, and dishes. Also briefed him there were two bedrooms, an office and living room. Really all moot cause they should have been there the previous day to pack. Supposed to show the morning before the move to pack. No show. Called at 2:00 pm to say he might be able to make 6:00 pm show, but instead he wanted to send an additional 4th guy on moving day and get it all done. Herman did not show until 11:00 the following day to drop off boxes to his crew. Then he left. No fourth guy. When confronted, immediately started to blame everyone else. The crew didn't spread out and start packing different rooms at the same time, like all other movers. They had no sense of urgency , all sat in the same room together and lackadaisically packed while they gossiped about others. They really enjoyed themselves. Seeing this was not going to meet our schedule, I had to pack our own goods. In fact I personally packed approximately 1/3 of all our goods with no help from the moving crew. One would think that, seeing the paying client packing their own goods might somehow motivate the movers at least feign some sense of urgency. Don't make that mistake, it did not phase Adair Movers in the slightest. They continued to stand around gossiping. They did bring some supplies, but very little. They ran out early in the day. We had to personally go to the store and purchase boxes, tape, and pens to mark the boxes. To be honest, they did bring ONE PEN!!! (Seriously, think a team of Urkels but with neck tattoos!) At one point, very late in the day, one of the movers approached me to announce they were "done and leaving." Immediately I went through the house and found they had not packed half the kitchen and an entire bedroom. I had to run out of the house and stop the truck because they were leaving. (Urkel on steroids!!!) We had one very expensive leather couch we had especially asked them to be careful with. When they wrapped it, they did not bother to remove any cushions or pillows. Pointed out to them that we had never seen another mover pack the couch this way. They got an attitude and later 'dropped' the couch onto the concrete ruining the leather on one corner. Herman said this would be covered by his insurance company. A week after the move we contacted Herman and told him we had not heard from the insurance company. He stated that he had just spoken to them and they were about to call. We have never heard from the insurance company. The move was A month ago. Again, so bad it's just funny. If your thinking of a business to start in New Orleans, start a moving company. If these guys can make money, anyone can be successfully.

We contracted with We Haul for a long distance move from Metairie to another state. The website…read moreadvertises for long distance moves, and we opted to support a local business. Unfortunately, everything went downhill starting from day 1. The first day was for wrapping and disassembling furniture. Brandon was running about an hour late and called us to apologize, saying that he was on his way. He then showed up an additional 2 hours later without any communication or explanation. Nothing in New Orleans is that far away... The next day was the actual loading day. A couple of the crew showed up independently at our house on time, but there was no moving truck. Allegedly, Brandon was picking up the truck and would be there "soon". In the meanwhile, the crew shuffled a few boxes around but couldn't start loading due to the absence of a truck. Brandon eventually appeared with a moving truck over 2 hours late. The team loading the truck was overall hard working, though oddly, one barely spoke English and we learned later that he was picked up that day from a local hardware store, ie, not a regular company employee. In general, there was an overall lack of care with loading our belongings. A desk was dropped, denting the wall on the way out... numerous scrapes on the walls and floor...a door stopper kicked out of the baseboard. Ugh. In the end, everything fit into the truck, but our belongings were seemingly packed into the truck at random without organization. Plus, there was a general paucity of wrapping and moving pad use. But hey, we got everything loaded. We figured the worst is over, right? Wrong. We packed GPS trackers in our boxes. The drive from Metairie to our destination would be about 13 hours and we contracted with Brandon to arrive 3 days after loading. However, as the days ticked by, we noticed that the truck was still in New Orleans. In fact, he was driving the truck (with our belongings banging around inside!) all around New Orleans. Not sure if he was doing more jobs or just joy riding? Eventually, on the day before the projected move-in day, we called Brandon to ask when he was going to depart. He stated that he was starting the drive, would drive through the night, and would make it to us the next day. He also told us that he had a crew of 2 with him (3 people total with Brandon). Using GPS tracking, we saw that he didn't actually leave New Orleans until that evening, meaning that he literally would have to drive through the night to make it to us. Needless to say, that didn't happen. He stopped along the way to sleep (we had to book an extra hotel night), and ultimately stopped again on the way to sleep (we had to book another extra hotel night). He told us multiple times that he was going to drive hard and make it to us soon, but due to the GPS tracker, we knew that there was no way he would make his planned moving day deadline. If it wasn't for the GPS trackers, we would have thought he was scamming us and running off with our belongings. Fast forward to move-in day (2 days late). Brandon hired 2 local day movers to help with the unload. I have no idea what happened to the 2 crew members that were allegedly with him at the start of the drive. Together, they started unloading, but I guess he noticed that more crew were needed. So, the local day movers called some friends (not professional movers), and there was ultimately a team of 6 people unloading. Again, they got the job done and unloaded, but it was entirely unprofessional. Scuffed walls/floors and dropped furniture were commonplace. Due to the insufficient furniture wrapping, disorganized loading at the start, the excess banging around in the truck, and the unprofessional unloading, we had several pieces of furniture in bad shape. Severely damaged boxes, leather couch with striking scratches and tears, holes in office chairs, badly scraped dining table and chairs, broken mirror, shattered bookcase, nonfunctional oscillating fan... the list is endless. In discussion with Brandon, we worked out the extra costs with the final payment, but finances aside, we were mentally over the experience and would really have just preferred to have our belongings arrive intact and on time. Moving is inherently a stressful experience, and unfortunately, We Haul amplified our stress tenfold. Buyer beware indeed. TL;DR: Not recommended.

I was told everything was good to go. Then on June 4, I got a text saying they needed to cancel our June 6 move and asked if we could move on June 7 instead. After much back and forth, I agreed because we were on a tight timeline and needed to move. June 7 came and went, and no one showed up. No call, no text, no email...nothing!! I had to reach out myself to find out what was going on. Even then, nobody ever arrived. I called both phone numbers listed online multiple times and never got an answer. Eventually, I received a text telling me to contact someone named Daniel. I texted him and called three times, but never got a response. Then I got a random email saying the truck broke down and they'd follow up with an ETA... 1 hr went by... complete silence. At that point, we were essentially ghosted. No apology, no explanation, and no effort to help us find a solution after leaving us without movers on the day of our move. Moving is stressful enough without having to wonder if your moving company is actually going to show up. Unfortunately, that was our experience. Based on how this was handled, I wouldn't recommend them if you need a company you can count on.

This was my first time hiring movers and they made me feel like I made a good choice. Mario was so kind, which might not be something you look for in a mover, but as a single woman, I felt totally comfortable having him in my home. Turns out my new neighbors had hired him years ago for a move and also remembered him being a great guy! Definitely hire Mario!

I went into my kitchen and had a conversation with my father (who was there to support me during my move). I told him they would charge an extra fee to disassemble the bed. The guy stops disassembling the bed and comes into my kitchen to explain to my father why it was extra. I had no problem with the fee, I was just telling my father. I was the person actually paying for the service. Needless to say, the mover said it was disrespectful for me to tell my father that information. They moved the furniture that was in their truck back into my apartment and left. Thankfully I was able to hire more movers right after! God was on my side today.
