Usually had nothing but positive things to say in past large amount of boxes required packing, liquids spilled in bottom of box , labeling generic and not helpful such as kitchen without notifying what was in box, I.e glasses. Boxes destined to go to different locations mixed together and some loaded with 90% paper and not even the item stated on box was in box. I can't recommend Moving Nola enough! John and his crew showed up on time and didn't stop until they were finished. They carefully wrapped everything. They carefully hauled a heavy 5 piece art deco bedroom set up a curved stairway to the second floor. Not an easy task but they were amazing! I hope not to move any time soon but when I do they'll be my first call. All the young men were very professional but still able to have fun with one another along the way. Moving can be drudgery but this was actually very pleasant! I would also like to add that Alex was wonderful in scheduling the appointment and keeping me informed. This is a prime example of you get what you pay for. I was a little apprehensive in that I thought Moving Nola was a little more expensive than others I looked into. But I went with my friend's recommendation and their stellar reviews. My next door neighbor moved a month before me. He used someone cheaper. A company I had looked into. I reached out about a month and a half before my move to get quotes from different companies. I had used Moving Nola about 8-9 years ago for a different move, so I was pretty sure that I was going to go with them but wanted to see if their pricing was competitive. They responded quickly and their pricing was competitive. Day of my move I was supposed to have 4 movers and a truck but moving out of my apartment I had 2 movers. It took about an hour to get everything carefully packed up in the truck and the other movers showed up to help unload the truck which only took half an hour. They made sure to adjust the pricing to reflect the cost of two movers for one hour and 4 movers for half an hour. Everything not boxed that they moved was carefully wrapped in blankets and then plastic wrapped so I didn't have any broken or damaged items. They wrapped everything up diligently and efficiently, even though I don't particularly have any furniture that I care too deeply about, but that's beside the point as these guys went above and beyond to protect everything and anything. Umm, WOW. These 'guys' are incredible!!! I was referred to them by two coworkers after receiving quotes from some other places. Moved from a house to another house. Requested a quote via yelp and got it quickly. Called and spoke with John S to confirm some details and asked if sending photos of my inventory would help. "Sure!" he said. So I sent photos of what would be moved to give him an idea of the size of truck and crew that would be most appropriate. The service fee was $200, then $170/hour for a 4-man crew. I had nearly everything packed, and they had to disassemble my purple bed and electric frame. Then we stopped at a friend's house to pick up a table and chairs. They assembled my bed, placed my furniture where needed. From the point of arrival to leaving was TWO. HOURS. WHUTTTT!!! John was friendly and his crew was FANTASTIC. My experience with MovingNOLA was FABULOUS! John, the company owner/president, Katie & Brian were top notch professionals, super nice and delightful to work with. I have moved a LOT within and between 4 states over my 57 years and they are hands-down the BEST team I've ever hired or experienced with friends and family members' moving companies. I had a lot of old, heavy furniture I needed to have brought to the dump, and other heavy furniture moved to different places around the house. They called about 30 minutes prior to arriving a few minutes early, wearing masks and gloves since we're still in Phase 1 of the COVID19 recovery. They did a walkthrough to confirm everything that needed to be done, assessed the best and safest way to approach everything, and then knocked out the entire job in no time flat. They had to disassemble some of the largest furniture to get it out, and they had the proper tools handy and clearly knew exactly what to do in every case. Somehow they were able to miraculously maneuver our tight 90 degree turn in our stairwell with bulky furniture without even touching either the railing (I had Christmas lights on it) or the walls. I was totally impressed by every single thing they did, especially how FAST they did everything so safely and without hesitation. I highly recommend them for any job you have, no matter how big or small. They went above and beyond anything I expected, and their knowledge and experience shows in the way they did everything so smoothly. Prices were very reasonable and exactly as quoted. I'm generously giving 2 stars because atleast my belongings are in storage. However, I have to be honest, hiring this company did not come headache free. I hired John & Co to move a bedroom set to my storage facility 5 blocks away. It was the day before I needed the space cleared so, despite the high quote $250+, I had very few options and decided to hire him. They showed up early, which I greatly appreciated. He and his worker entered my condo and took a look at my bedroom set and said "this should be quick and easy", to my relief. I do have a spiral staircase, however, I explained to him and his worker, when I originally moved in, we moved all the furniture to my loft via the balcony. With that said, I had things to do, so I busied myself with that. Next thing I know, I see my mattress twisted up in the spiral staircase. A quick overview here, I told you we didn't bring it up that way AND eyeing it, you can tell pretty quickly the mattress is way bigger than the staircase would allow. I had a painting on the wall, it was nearly knocked down and the nails were all warped due to to mattress being pressed against on the wall. The wall wasn't the only place they damaged my home, but this review is long enough. I noticed the damage once they were gone ofcourse, so I texted John photos of the peeled paint on the staircase, the warped nails from the painting being smushed, the oversized holes where the nails once were hanging said painting and a long deep scratch in the hall. He replied with some jargon regarding "I should have made you sign a liability form". Not an apology. Not "I'll come take a look". Nothing. I'm nearly 5 months pregnant, so to avoid the stress in small claims court, we just hired a handy man to fix the damages. To wrap this up. They did get my items into storage, however, don't rely on them to use common sense and be cautious with your belongings. You never know what you're left with at the end of the day. read more

We loved Moving NOLA! After a fairly disastrous experience with our movers on the other end, we hired Moving NOLA to unpack our U-Pack truck at the U-Pack facility, and do the "last mile" move to our shotgun in uptown NOLA. John was amazing at every stage! First, he's clearly very experienced with the complexities of moving in the city, and has smaller trucks to navigate the challenging streets -- and he was totally unfazed by the construction on our road or the tough parking from the restaurants in the area! I felt extremely confident after our first long phonecall and he was very flexible as we, after packing and moving from our origin, became more certain about the number of boxes etc. that were coming. On the day of the move, the team was on time (in fact, 15 minutes early!), very professional and very fast. They even wrapped up the stuff our terrible DC movers had failed to protect. It was only 4.5 hours door to door, even though they had to repack/wrap etc. a bunch of our stuff. They also handled all our things extremely gently, navigating the little front yard and steps to our old shotgun very skillfully. In the end, there was just enough stuff for an overflow truck, and John was very generous and flexible adjusting our rate and figuring it out. Couldn't have asked for better movers for this city especially. We're so grateful to Moving NOLA! read more

One of the movers shows up in crocks... they broke a plate and acted like nothing happened. We paid them by the hour and they moved particularly slow compared to the movers who helped pack up our old place (in Florida). To be specific, the movers in Florida were two men who did the whole thing in 1 hour for $250 total. This was 4 guys and it took them 2 hours and cost $500 total. They were just short of 2 hours but rounded up the time to 2 hours. At one point the "mover" wearing crocks was carrying one bedside lamp from the truck to the apartment... this is why it took so long and ended up costing us more money. I don't have a lot of experience hiring movers, but can compare them to our company in Florida... and also comped to common sense on how it should be done. Would not hire them again. read more

We were moving from an apartment (2-bedroom) to a house and needed movers so we decided to try out this company. I am so glad we did. we initially reserved them for a Tuesday but due to unforeseen circumstances (electrical issues at the new house) we needed to reschedule to the next day. I called John at about 4ishpm the day before the move and requested a change. He was very accommodating but i was charged a cancellation fee of $200. Which i expected as I called quite late in the day. The movers were scheduled for 9am on the Wednesday. They arrived at 8am, which was fine but I was still packing the last few items. They arrived ( 3 guys) and brought moving blankets and plastic. They wrapped some of my furniture and used blankets to cover some items as well. By about 12ish the move was done. They even took apart my bed frame and re-assembled it in the new house. They assisted with setting my tv on its stand as well. Nothing broke, nothing was damaged, everything arrived in one piece. They handled all my belongings with care. They did a great job and i would definitely recommend them. read more
