John charged me up front $968.50 for hardware to repair my slide out awnings two years ago and has still not started the repairs. He also received a new windshield from my insurance company two years ago and never replaced the windshield. John is a liar and a thief. Don't ever have him do any work for you. read more

I put $25,000 down on my project and never received any product, just delays, lies and deception--all documented. I was referred to John @ Big Dog on 9/8/2023 by Anderson RV service due to their full schedule. We're from Texas while visiting Missoula our Keystone Outback had failure on inside cable system slides living room & bedroom. We fully explained the problem when he scheduled the appointment. John came out two hours after his scheduled appt and then realized he didnt have the tools needed to make our repair he then left to get the tools came back an hour later and the tool was broken he worked on his tool for appx 1 1/2 hours. Needless to say we were charged $840. he stated the warranty dept at Keystone would want itemizied receipt for refund and asked for our em address to forward document when he returned to his office. We have sent multiple request via em and voicemail with little or no response as of today 2/26/24, the supposedly repaired cables broke when we set up camp at our next destination Glacier Natl park appx 2 1/2 hrs from Missoula. Don't do business with them! The owner lied to me too many times to count. They were supposed to replace my 19' awning, and do some other roof repair, but never did. The first lie was when he said he was ordering my awning parts - he told me it was ordered on 23 July but wasn't actually ordered until 3 Aug. He told me he needed the ~$1900 up front b/c Lippert charges him right away. That was lie #2 since I personally spoke to Lippert and they don't charge until the awning ships. Now that I have to find someone else to do the work, the owner refuses to refund my $1900. There are several more lies he told WRT trying to schedule the work, but suffice it to say this is NOT a company you want to do business with. read more

We got to our campground and while backing in discovered two tires showed excessive wear. We called Big Dog on the suggestion of the campground folks. John came by and diagnosed bent axles. The axles were under warranty, so when the new ones came in, John delivered and installed them in a surprisingly short amount of time and at a reasonable price. read more

He doesn't even have a shop and is in the middle of the field that is insanely trashed and stupid rocky. Not great for big rigs. His work was pretty good and the new Hot water heater works great however, they left our home in disarray with stains and muddy footprints all over the wall and our bathroom covered in sawdust and screws. After we looked at it before we picked it up and asked for them to clean up and it was not done after saying it would be. We got new floors put in and instead of consulting with the customer He just decided and picked a whole new product and color without consulting us and installed it before telling us. Thankfully it turned out pretty decent. However there are spots that are now coming apart. I have been attempting to contact him in regards to our floor vents missing and our brand new exhaust fan in the bathrooms button was missing. He is extremely unprofessional and started gas lighting and saying they weren't there to begin with. When I know for a fact they were. Not like I'm asking for new expensive things, I'm simply asking for the things i already had in there that i had just installed prior. After multiple back and forth texts and him finally saying he would send them to us... he is now MIA and has not sent our stuff back or answered my calls after a month. After spending over 10k you would think we wouldn't have this type of problem with professionalism. I wasn't going to write a review but I'm honestly just beyond pissed at the lack of basic decency and calling us liars. But I'm not going to let others go into this shit without knowing what they'll be dealing with. Id suggest to go elsewhere unless you want to fight over him doing what a good "business " owner would do. read more

I contact John about week and a half prior coming in on problems with RV. He said he had a busy schedule but would make time for me. A couple days prior I emailed him my schedule and time I plan to arrive. I got to the campground and called him getting a voicemail. I left a message I was at the campground and will wait for him at his convenience. I got an immediate text back saying h was with a customer and would call me ASAP. We were there for 2 days. I spent 2 days waiting around for him and never received that call nor did he show up. I would think any decent business would at least have the decency to call and say I'm tired up and sorry I am not going to be able to make it. I wasted 2 days and my time waiting for nothing. read more

Have used this rv service on a couple occasions. Can never fix problem on first visit, always has to come back. This last time came out and checked our problem, told us he could fix it and ordered parts. When he came back he did not have the right tools and made no real attempt to do the repairs as promised. Disconnected the wiring and left it, closed up the bay and left without explanation. When contacted, said he would have to check with some of his peers. Further attempts to contact him resulted in no return phone calls and in fact, one time he hung up on us. Have never heard from him again and he misdiagnosed the issue. May be knowledgeable on certain problems but does NOT know Aquahot. Very poor customer communications and service. Use him at your own risk. read more

After finding out none of the big shops will lower themselves to working on an older rv like ours, we were referred to big dog. The service was great and the rates were very reasonable. They might have gotten my business this time by default, but the job they did earned my future business.
