First off the park is beautiful and nice to look at. However, I witnessed some things that would…read moreensure I will never come back. They have a dog on leash policy, which is posted everywhere. On my morning walk I witnessed a gentleman two campsites down walking his dog off a leash down by the boat Storage. The Park host asked him to put the dog up and he did so immediately. While the Park host continued walking her dog around the park, she witnessed somebody else three campsites down from him, exercising his hunting dogs down by the river. She yelled at this older gentleman to lock his dogs up, but I would say it was safe to assume he couldn't hear. The Park host then walked her dog all the way into somebody else's campsite where they had their dog leashed and tied to the fire pit. After a few seconds, the park host little dog snapped at the other dog chained to the fire pit and they got into a fight. Nobody was injured, but the Park host was definitely in the wrong. She screamed at my girlfriend and I while all this was going on and we were five campsites away doing nothing. While this is happening the gentleman three campsites down was putting his dogs in the trailer and the lady screamed at him as well. After everything was said and done the gentleman with the two hunting dogs who had nothing to do with any altercation whatsoever was kicked out of the park that day for something he had nothing to do with. Because the Park host demanded an apology from him for something he had nothing to do with. The lady that owned the other dog involved in the altercation went and told the Park host it had nothing to do with the other gentleman, but because he hurt the Park hose feeling by not apologizing for something he didn't do he was kicked out. This was not fair or just. It has nothing to do with me, but I watched the entire scenario unfold and the park host as well as the park Owner were completely in the wrong!

The RV sites were clean, large, paved with rocks, picnic tables and a fire pit. Everything was in excellent condition. The full hook-ups were amazing! The RV sites are on the river with a perfect view of the mountains, and ranch views of cows and animals. We were able to catch steelhead fish on the river bank. The Landing has a wonderful playground which my kids fully enjoyed around the clock. The restrooms, were fully stocked and cleaned multiple times a day. Along with a great location the Wi-Fi was amazing, we were able to watch college football! We had family with us renting a tiny cabin, which was the perfect size for a family of 4! They are fully equipped with a kitchenette, loft and bunk bed and heated to perfection in November! I would give this place 5 stars! She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time.

The park itself is pretty typical, with RV's lined up in adjacent spaces. We had grass, shade, a picnic table, hook-ups, and wifi (yay!), and chickens roamed around the park all day. How is this not a fun place? When we checked in, there was an envelope tacked to the office door with my name on it with all the check-in information. Gotta love a process that is intuitive and effective! They let us have an early check-out the next day, so we didn't have to pay for an extra night, which was super nice! When we go back, I will ask about spaces near the river. My friend and I sat down next to the river at an un-occupied RV space and watched the sunset and listened to the flowing water. Very nice. No, the place is not perfect, and might feel a bit rough around the edges for some people, but it has that sort of "Riggins" feel, which fits my attitude nicely. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat if I needed a place to park my RV for a night.

Our group had a wide range of experience, ranging from never been camping to frequent outdoorsmen. The seamless way the guides made everyone feel safe, entertained and active during the trip was amazing. Larkin, Issac and Chuck are a dream team for sure. I cannot thank them enough. Arriving to camp each day with tents set up and shaded canopy waiting was great. It allowed us to not worry around set up and enjoy the river, and get some fishing in. The food was 5 star that we were over the moon about. We left wanting recipes but were so amazed on the freshness and preparedness MRO provided each day. No hot dogs on sticks here for sure. We saw lots of options when looking for a guided trip. I am so happy we chose Mountain River Outfitters. They allowed a Multi-generational trip, that got us all of comfort zone, to happen. So, she was surfing the web and came across this. I am so glad she did! It took almost 3 hours to get there, but the scenery from Vale to the dam was well worth it. At first, I didn't want to spend that much money for a boat ride...but, I now think it is worth every penny and more! I had such a great time. Dusty was our guide (what do you call them? Are they Captains?) He was not only a great guide, he just seems like a great person. He was nice, polite, and did one hell of a job on the river! I have great memories with my bestie, and some really great pictures also. We didn't see any exciting animals, but that's ok. Still a great trip! I will go to Yellowstone for wild bears! :)
