Stopped into a yurt for some liquid courage and off I go- lots to select from beers, drinks, and food- chicken and waffles at a yurt? Yes please. 65 dollar lift tickets for a day at Brundgae is a steal, they had free demos, and beer vendors galore. Live music on the mountain makes my heart warm. read more

If you are a family looking for a fun adventure, run. What should have been a super fun day turned into a terrible day when the snowmobile tipped and pinned my 9 year old daugher's leg under the snowmobile. She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time. read more

My partner and I came to this resort as our Christmas gift to each other. Wonderful snow, good food, and nice atmosphere. That being said, the loading area of the chair lift we frequented had a rather narrow platforms with plastic rungs every foot. I can see how this set up might help skiers stop in the correct spot, but it makes the loading area rather slick and sketchy to try and load with a board. If you come across a loading area like this, make sure to ask the lifties to slow the chair down to make it less scary of a load in. Trust me. My last piece of advice is don't be a silly pants like us and take the longest blue trail first go, as it felt more like a black run after you factor in its steapness and length. All in all, we had a wonderful time. We will be back someday, I'm sure of it! read more

My daughter's leg was crushed under the snowmobile as I screamed for help - thank God my 6 foot 4 brother in law was there to help lift it off of her. The safety briefing didn't cover shit, including the kill switch. I happened to ask a guide about 20 mins into our ride what this dangly chord did and he said "Oh! You have to have that attached to you so the engine stops if you fall." THANK GOD I ASKED - it may have saved my daughter from a life changing injury. And when I asked Perry what she would do differently next time? She gets stunningly defensive - like this was an hour after the incident and I had cooled down - my goal was for her to think about it so this wouldn't happen to another family. But she said "I feel like you're attacking me and we did everything right." Maybe they're trained to say that, but Jesus, if I owned this business i would be scared I was about to get my ass sued off. I didn't sign the waiver and I'm considering legal action. read more

This is a great mountain that mother nature has gifted some of the best snow in Idaho. Yet they squander this gift. They have made unremarkable incremental improvements to the mountain while making unbelievable increases to the daily pass cost and the annual pass cost. The snow here is awesome notwithstanding the way the mountain manages it. They seem clueless in how to manage good groomed runs and good mogul runs. So you have a lot of ungroomed choppy snow. As I write this review they have a Discover Brundage Pass "first timer season pass" for $319 and then an adult return customer season pass for $629...WTF? As a loyal return customer they want to charge me nearly twice as much as a first time customer? That is some lousy, lousy, lousy customer loyalty. And as you can tell I have no loyalty to Brundage. Go to Tamarack or wait ten years to get the first timer pass again...trust me the mountain will be the same. read more

A wonderfully positive experience overall, as this family-owned resort just north of McCall in the Payette National Forest met all expectations after being billed as having the Best Snow In Idaho. They offer skiing, snow shoeing, and snowmobile trails. I elected to ski, and whether you're a black diamond person, a blue square, a green circle, or a beginner, this place rocks. Lots of on-site parking in two locations, such easy access. Didn't have any gear with me, but they have half-day and full day rental rates. Trevor helped me a bunch in the rental shop, fit me perfectly, and was superbly interactive and well-versed. Good rental pricing, quality equipment. The powder was outstanding! Loved the guys manning the chair lifts, fun and encouraging. The ski patrol was interactive at the right times, controlled the environment, zero issues with boarders and skiers. I wiped out a few times and they were really helpful and attentive. Runs are well-marked, groomed, lot of fun. In addition to good skiing conditions, Brundage has an efficient and plus lodge, offering food and libations. Enjoyed Smoky's Grill! Clean, friendly, and there's a 21+ area also. But I stayed mostly outside to enjoy the place! Fair pricing throughout, a very good skiing experience. read more

While Brundage is an OK place to ski and their tube hill is pretty fun, they've managed to take the fun out of all of it by requiring that everyone buy an RFID card. Their web site isn't at all user friendly. I just want to take my family tubing and I've been online for hours trying to set up accounts and buy tubing tickets and RFID cards. I have given up. I will call them tomorrow and have them walk me through. It's a terrible system and process. Every year they've made it harder and harder to enjoy their facilities. They so out of tune with what the public wants. It should be easy to go skiing and tubing, but no.... Note that my wife and I have been ski pass holders for over 10 years. I am from Florida, but love going out to McCall in the winter just to come here. It's always such a fun time to ski down the many fun slopes, and the food in the resort is very good, and the staff is extremely nice. I love being able to ski for a few hours and grab some food. Also, during the summer, some perfect hiking trails can be found here! read more

Great facility and mountain, poor management. Will not be coming back again. Went today with family to teach my siblings (under 15 yrs old) and cousins how to snowboard. After one run, we were kicked out of the ski resort for not having our masks above our nose as we were sitting down in the lift. This came with no prior warnings and we were told to hike back up to the rest of our family and that my 14yr old sister and I were no longer welcome. If you do decide to brave it at this mountain, expect to be harassed about masks even when you are near no one but yourself in an outside area, exercising. read more

This is for summer time visits. Sitting in the fresh mountain air and soaking up the sun is the best! Used a GroupOn deal to get a lift ride for two and $10 off of lunch. Service - I think they were a bit short handed, even though we were in well after lunch. The waitress biffed it on a couple of small things, but she was running inside and outside trying to keep up. Food - A buddy had the sliders and said they were tasty, but just a bit dry. The fries (with fry sauce) were cooked just right and tasted great. The bacon burger was awesome. In fact, wouldn't split and share with buddy having sliders :) Food we didn't have - the nachos. Saw an order go by that was so big, it would take four Mtn Men to get to the bottom of that plate. 2nd time snowtubing. Fun sport. But this time, the kids were getting annoying---too many of them, out of control, and parents laughing and not paying attention. Result: cutting in front of you when it's your turn to go down the slope, general jack-assery involving physically shoving each other, their snowtubes bouncing into my legs, in front of us. And because of this general chaotic environment, jack-assery, and lack of attendants at the top of the slope to monitor everything, I got frustrated waiting for these tweens to get their act together, and cutting in front of me, so I went around them and plunged down myself. At the bottom was a small boy just sitting there, and I crashed into him--hard. He flew out of his tube, and a couple parents began to scold ME for "not making sure the lane was clear". What?? I didn't go down right after someone. How long was that urchin just sitting there? I was glad the boy was all right, but I was angered at being blamed for a situation that was caused by the general chaos and lack of control of the business, and irresponsible parents themselves who let their spawn act like rude idiots. If it truly was unsafe for me to go down the lane, why did they let me? When we first arrived, PLENTY of people were going down the lanes themselves, without attendants, spinning, in groups, and many were kids. Do you mean to tell me each of these kids peeled back their eyes to see if someone was still sitting at the bottom of the lane 600 yards away? I don't think so! And there were NO signs warning people not to go down themselves, nor to "check to make sure the entire lane was clear" before you go down. I was so flustered and angered by this chaotic experience, and knowing that I could have killed a kid due to the chaos and negligence, I just left. Parents: take control of your kids! If you do NOT, then some adult like me will get frustrated and just go down by themselves, and might accidentally kick your child in the head with their boot. So get your act together, parents---after all, you signed a waiver that if your kid dies, they are not responsible. And Brundage Mountain staff: stop with the stupid music---if safety is so important, replace that with a guard and a whistle, and post signs and staff to better control what happens at the top. And kick out jack-ass children who cause dangerous situations. read more

We paid about $60 for 1-day lift passes and about $60 to rent skis, boots, helmet. Nice resort on the smaller size with great snow. Rental equipment staff and restaurant staff were very friendly. Guy running the magic carpet for the beginner's area wasn't paying much attention and looked to be putting a lot of kids in danger. read more

Yes, the employee berated me for following Brundage mountains own guide lines and policy. I was not in a mask required area and talked with HR about the incident. I started skiing two years ago and had never been to any of the ski mountains in Idaho. I learned here. The people who work here are extremely friendly. When I had a lesson, I was a little worried, but the instructor was very patient and worked with me until I felt comfortable going on the hill. That was March 2017. Here we are almost two years later and I keep coming back for season passes. Their pricing for season passes is super affordable and their season passport with other ski resorts is an amazing value. Up to 68 days of FREE skiing with partners including Japan! We took advantage of that last year and skied Targhee. The mountain is very well maintained and they truly have the BEST snow in Idaho. If you have the opportunity to come and ski here at least once, you'll leave wanting just a little more. read more

The cat tracks are not designed or managed correctly to allow snowboarders to move across them without having to stop. Several times you will come to a stop and have to take off your board and walk. This is frustrating and dangerous for others. read more

My boyfriend and I came here a few weeks ago to do the snowmobile ride without a tour guide. It was a beautiful day and we were riding on a trail when we came up to a fallen tree, there was a tiny area to pass by ( it looked like some had already done so ) as we go thru that slanted area our snowmobile tipped over into waist deep fresh powder. My boyfriend and I managed to push it up right but after 3 hours of digging and trying we were totally stuck. During that time we had called guest services two different times like we were told to do if we got stuck, they informed us there was no one to come and help us and to "just wave down someone when you see them, so they can help" .. mind you we hadn't seen ANYONE the whole time while we were on that trail. We would have only possibly had someone available to come and get us well after 4pm when the guided snowmobile tours were over. We some how managed to dig and lift the snowmobile and we were free after about 3 1/2 hours of panic and freezing. Long story short: It was fun until we got stuck and were told to basically wait til dark to get rescued ( $300 for them to come save us, glad we figured it out ourselves). They should really have staff specifically ready to come and help people who get stuck. It was completely terrifying thinking we may be left out there in below zero weather in the snow til the next day. If you plan to snowmobile, maybe do the guided tour or go with other friends so they could try to pull you out (bring a rope). Luckily we had the backpack they provide with a tiny shovel and that shovel saved us. Bring food and water and warm clothes in case this happens to you. read more

I would like to preface this review that I'm somewhere between a novice and an intermediate skier. I say that because I'm pretty sure if I were an expert skier, this review would be one star higher. The reason I can't rate this place higher is that so many of the runs are RIDICULOUSLY steep, which I'm sure is great for a more experienced skier....but for me, I often felt that I was moments away from death as I made my way down some of the blue runs. Combine this with the fact that the slopes were pretty icy when we visited, and you get a day of both mental and physical exhaustion. With that said, there are still many great things about Brundage no matter how experienced you are. First, as others have stated, this place gets great snow. After visiting the slushy slopes of Bogus a few days earlier, I was pleased to find that Brundage not only had a lot of runs still open (despite the bad season), but there was little slush to be found. Second, I really enjoyed the lodge at Brundage. We ordered some delicious burgers and a nice warm cookie. Definitely some of the better food I've had at a ski resort. Third, they have tons of runs and fast lifts, which was also nice. In sum, a great place to ski if you like a challenge. read more

Went skiing here on my Honeymoon. I'm used to Utah ski resorts and was unsure of how it would compare. We had a riot. There's groomed and ungroomed trails... whatever you fancy. We could go super fast or take a leisurely stroll through the powder and the trees. Well worth the price. The view from the top is amazing. We never had to wait in a line for the lift. The variety of black diamonds, blue squares, and green circles is perfect for any skier. One of my favorite resorts. To be honest I think I hit ice like once. read more

The Bikes, Burgers, and Brews event was a blast! $15 for a burger and a generous flight of beers and ciders, are you kidding? And everyone was friendly and happy, joking between tables and chatting. Brundage staff is so friendly and helpful. Fantastic. The ride up was long enough to satisfy, but not too long for our 9-yr-old. I walked instead of biking just in case she didn't make it, and it was maybe a 1-mile hike with gorgeous views. If you ski Brundage, it's fun to see the runs in the summer. Free yoga in the summer in the lawn is lovely. We love the disc golf, too! We're looking forward to the SheJump event this Saturday. Bottom line, what with the dining events and concerts, Brundage is just as fun in the summer as in the winter. Visit! read more

We love getting up to the slopes as a family. With the free passes on Easy Street and the Magic Carpet, teaching the little ones is much more affordable. We look forward to many great years of family fun. I grew up going to the mountain with my brothers and sisters and love seeing my children do the same now. So disappointing to finally get up here and have no one call me back for kids center for two days. Have three boys and would love for them to learn and had planned. My husband finally just drove up there and made them call me on speaker phone. They said they were slammed (two kids and two people) I'm not sure what happened in a year but service from ticket to rental was very slow. I would give five stars to my twins teacher mr Jeremy. He had it fun and had a great attitude but most people don't have the time to drive up to make an appt for the next day or two days later but that's why we had to do to get someone to make us an appointment. Been going for 12 years. Even when they are busy, the lines are fairly short for the lifts and runs are great. The restaurant is hard to get into when busy, but food is good. The staff everywhere are always friendly. Parking lots are full, but there are still spaces. It's funny to read reviews of one bad issue (ran out of sauce) or experience (didn't call back for an hour) and all of a sudden it's 1 Star and the worst experience in someone's life. Honestly, this is my family's go-to place. My kids learned to ski and snowboard there. We have had excellent experiences and excellent customer service for over a decade. Line attendants are friendly, wait staff are hustling, and rental folks are friendly. Fireworks are awesome! 12 years of experience with solid 5 star performance is worthy of mentioning. read more

I love this place. I life in California and it was my first time skiing in Idaho. It was an easy drive from Boise. The place only has 4 lifts but they are well positioned. The mountain is well designed has some great tree skiing, long runs and great terrain. No lines or crowds. Not much in way of amenities but for $55 for lift tickets it was a good deal. I am still reeling from how Brundage mountain treated my husband and I on Feb 25th, after the mid night snow removal team plowed our rig under in the lower pioneer parking lot in the middle of the night. We had planned a birthday ski day for my husband's birthday on the 15th and had purchased a four pack for the outing. We had overnighted in the lot on January 12th with no incident and the plows had been courteous. With no clear signage anywhere in sight we had no idea we were not supposed to over night in that part of the parking lot- overnight camping is allowed in another part of the lot. We heard the plows around 3 am, but they did not notify us that we needed to move and we assumed that they were just doing their job and plowing around us. SOOO we woke up to be completely plowed in - see the photo and when my husband went to talk to the mountain manager, Rob, to ask them for help and to let him know that they had hit us in the night and had damaged the front of the truck he said we were in the wrong and that if we had anything to say we could leave. So we did not know what to do - and called the sheriff's department to see what we should do and they said they would send a sheriff. So the Adam's count sheriff came and opened and investigation. He was amazed, as we were, at what the plow service had decided to do with us. We told the Sherriff to wait before we decided to file a hit and run complaint before we got a response from Brundage. After numerous attempted phone calls to Brundage and a short conversation with Courtney at Guest services, no one came and we shoveled ourselves out thanks to a kind person in the lot who lent us a shovel.. A huge shout out to all of the people who helped us in the lot- none of them Brundage employees. As one gentlemen observed, I guess they did not like you. So with no word from anyone at Brundage we proceeded up to the lodge and went to guest services and actually met Courtney who gave us Rob? the mountain manager's phone number and said he would meet us outside the rental shop. We waited for 20 minutes and called him and he said I will meet you at your rig. So we proceeded down to our rig where there were two men there, WITHOUT MASKS!!!! , and one of them was the mountain manager Rob. This is incredible given how strict the mountain management has been about mask wearing among guests. They were rude to us and made no effort to apologize and refused to give us the name of the operator or Rob's last name who had run into our truck or even find out how we got out. So with that incredibly disrespectful encounter we left. We then let the Adams country sheriff know that given the non response of Brundage and their disrespectful treatment of us and the malicious nature of the plow operator closing us in , we let them know we would like to file a complaint for hit and run. So I guess the police and the Brundage insurance company will deal with us. After going to Brundage for 30 years, I will never set foot on Brundage mountain again. read more

I grew up skiing at Brundage. It has awesome soft snow and the lift lines are usually really manageable if you don't go during the peak holiday seasons. At 1800 vertical feet it has plenty of terrain even to give an advanced skier a great ride and workout. read more

Here's what local Idahoans say about Brundage: "best snow in Idaho" (and they mean better than Sun Valley too). I hear it again and again. We vacation in McCall each year and we've NEVER been disappointed by the snow and never annoyed by the density of skiers or lines. I understand that this little town has produced a surprising group of olympic and olympic contender skiers. I have to imagine that Brundage is a big part of the reason. Brundage is fundamentally a regional resort with a somewhat national draw. It has some fabulous runs. It's also the sort of resort where you'll see a cowboy hat or two on the slopes. Biggest draw from my meeting folks on the hill is Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Utah, and California. There's no ski-in, ski-out for this resort. You stay in town (McCall) and drive up - however I've heard chat about some future development up there. read more
