He is nice, a safe driver, and is good with either conversing or driving in silence. He got me from Albany airport to a small, not-easy-to-find-in-the-dark country house in Vermont in a few hours. I dont know.I never used him. I hot pricing, and it was way too much for car service for basically 3 hours a drop off and a pick up. I'm so thankful that I have someone to take me and pick me up. And it's only 80.00 each day. It's not like they have to sit outside and wait. He has 6 hours to pick up and drop off other people. read more

Thus far this has been the best experience of my life using a local Transportation and Courier Services. I explained to Big John, what I needed and he quickly responded to solve issues... I needed to pickup my spare tire, from the old apartment building storage room. The manager had to leave early, so she put the tire in her office and ask me to reach out th the maintenance man. If I needed because she had to attend to an emergency at home. But this simple act held up the process-up until the next day. Which was okay, because Big John's Office, was very near the old apartment complex, and to save time and money, John, recommended that he would pickup the tire, and bring it to me using his Courier Service. This would eliminate two service charges of $15 dollars each... This made the Pick-up and delivery fees more economical. I moved my mom from NY to California in December in the midst of the pandemic and (unfortunately) the week of a huge snow storm in the Albany area. Deciding how to get to the airport with two people, a huge amount of luggage and two dogs was challenging. I had planned to simply rent a car, but the massive snow dump had me change my mind as I wasn't sure how the roads would be and I don't normally drive in a lot of snow. Found Big Johns and it was the best decision. John is super communicative and responsive. We ended up having to change our flight by 1 day because of the snowstorm, we left very early (I think our pick up was around 5am) and the roads were still pretty messy. With such a big move and so much going on that I had to plan and coordinate, it was a relief that John was so responsive. Highly recommend Big John's car service. We needed an early morning ride to Albany airport. I contacted John a few days before through yelp message and he responded quickly with a fair quote. He was right on time at 4:00 a.m., loaded our luggage and provided a safe ride in his clean and comfortable van, equipped with seat belts and a little sign encouraging you to wear them. We decided to arrange for a ride home with him for our return--again easy and quick communication via the yelp app and email. He requested our flight #. Our plane was supposed to arrive at 10:15 p.m. but because of weather our arrival was delayed until 12 a.m.--John had us text him when we were leaving and after we'd picked up our bags. He was right there no problem and again provided the best cab ride home I've ever had in Albany (and there have been some doozies!) I was in Albany for work and needed a VERY early taxi ride to the airport. Not seeing very good reviews for many of the Taxi companies in Albany on Yelp, I came across Big Johns and they had three 5 star reviews. I called them a few days before my departure date to discuss a scheduled pick up and they were GREAT! The man who answered was nice, competent and helped assure me that I would have someone there at 4:45am to pick me up. Sure enough, the cab was there and even arrived a few minutes before my pick up time which was such a relief! I HIGHLY recommend this cab company. I will absolutely use them again should I find myself in Albany in need of a ride. They are honest and good with their pricing and the cabs are actual cabs and very clean. The driver didn't show on time and would have been over half an hour late if he ever showed up. The phone guy was great when I scheduled my early morning ride a day in advance. He confirmed my address by Delaware Ave landmarks. But at 4am I was out on the dark street with my luggage and no ride to the airport. I phoned the cab company at 4:10 and left a message. They called back at 4:35 and said they were 3 minutes away. I had dragged someone out of bed and by then I was 3 minutes away from the airport. read more
