They have a nice variety of plants and if you know what you want they are ok. However, I have left my name and number several times for a call back about landscaping a yard. Plants they were to get in etc. I never did or have yet to get a call back. I found Rolands in Waxahachie and Escobeds in Desoto much more customer friendly. read more

I went to Big John's to see about buying dirt to fill in a low areas on the front of my property. It would require them to change the grade. The man said it would be a couple of months before they could do it. I ask if someone could come out and look at what I wanted done and was told they would not need to come out. They would know what to do. It appeared I was an imposition. read more

If you want a large variety of all sorts of annuals and perennials, flowers, bushes, trees, this is the place to find it. There are also garden decor including pottery, koi fish, benches and rockers. The staff are very knowledgeable about the stock. Highly recommend diamond in the rough, worth the drive. read more

Nice people however they consistently did not maintain hedges as agreed. Resulted i. Much more work on my part to get overgrown hedges and bushes back to normal shape. Avoid if you need anything more than simple lawn mowing and edging. read more

I don't write reviews often but Big Johns needed a review. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable of the issue I was trying to resolve (leveling out the grade of my yard) suggested the write materials and even delivered same day on a weekend. I live pretty close, but still got a few yards of topsoil delivered within an hour or two. Would definitely recommend this establishment and will definitely be ordering more in a week or two. read more

I bought my spring gardening supplies today at a local nursery that has been in business since I have lived in this little town (26 years), found everything in one place, with very high quality and well tended plants, at a very good price, and I was greeted by name by John himself! It's not like I'm in there every week, but it made me feel like Norm going into the bar at Cheers! Everybody there actually knows plants, is eager to help, and they even load your car for you! Terrible service and terrible guy. Do not use Big John. I was surprised at how bad this service was. My yard had to be completely redone.
