I went with stretching here, which is in Maple Grove. I am glad that I did. There were lots of parking spots in front of the rest area. I pulled into a spot and walked into the building. The women's washroom was clean. I realized that I had been here eons ago. It looked and felt the same. There were a few maps for me to look at. I liked the scenic byways map better than the you-are-here one. What stands out about this rest stop are the vending machines. There were five of them. You could get everything from snacks, to hot and cold beverages. I liked the variety. The hot beverages one was cool. It had hot chocolate. I wasn't in the mood for a hot drink, but I'd like to try it someday and see if it's any good. This rest stop has picnic tables and lots of trees. It would be the perfect spot to have a brief picnic in the summertime. If you've got a pet with you, it would be the perfect place for your furry family member to go for a walk or stretch. I felt refreshed leaving this rest stop and heading into the homestretch to the hotel. It was nice revisiting it and taking a much needed break from driving. (84)

They have something for every biker, no matter what skill level you are. This event is definitely family friendly. In the beginning years, I would ride the longer 50+ mile routes. Now, they have shortened the options down to 16, 25 or 32 miles that day. With multiple routes to choose from you can't go wrong! It's a beautiful experience to view the city and see how all the paths connect. Minneapolis/St. Paul have hundreds of miles of paved paths, so this ride can show you how to navigate them, rather than be intimidated. There is great signage to know which ways to turn to stay on course. The helpful rest stops supply delicious food and often music/entertainment along the way. The best part is the finish line! Here, you can get your free beer, visit the vender village and listen to a live band as you sit with fellow cyclists feeling proud of yourself!

I stopped at this rest stop in St. Cloud as I was driving northbound back to Winnipeg. There was a…read moresnowstorm during my road trip, which had briefly dissipated by the time I got to Fuller Lake. It was windy. I parked and got out of my vehicle. I was hoping that the wind would blow me over to the building, but it was blowing sideways. I can't win 'em all! The walkway was nicely plowed. I had no problem walking up to the building to use the women's washroom. The stall that I used was nicely maintained. No issues. Everything was clean. This rest stop has vending machines. If you need drinks or snacks, you're in luck. The selection is decent. The machines accept coins, cash, and credit cards. As I was walking back to my vehicle, a man was plowing the sidewalk. On this day, it would be the last time I saw anyone clearing snow at any rest stop north of St. Cloud. The snowstorm got worse as I cut through North Dakota. I had a great experience here. It was good to stretch here before driving through the worst part of the snowstorm. (16)

There were some spots that fisher people had left miles of line and hooks - not great for walking dogs. I picked those up and put them in the line and hook receptacle which was an easy walk from all the fishing leftovers I picked up. Please do better if you're fishing than doing the cut and run. There are parks on both sides of the river if you're up for an adventure. Not too much foot traffic when I was there, but lots of bikes, most with bells to alert me they were coming which is appreciated.

Worst now is that the STOP the road from reaching the other fishing dock so it's a very long walk from both side of the parking lot.
