I shop at five below almost every week and have gone to many different locations. Today (8/10/2023)…read moremy son, daughter, and I went to this location. I was paying with cash and the girl working glared at me from across the checkout area. Staring me down like I was going to steal one of the two items I had. I rang them up and tried to put cash in not realizing that I forgot to hit "pay with cash." Instead of her coming over in a polite manner like she should have, she rushed over, shoved in front of my son and hit the buttons on the screen without saying a word. Then huffed and went back over to stand in her corner and stare people down. I have been here many many times and have never seen this girl. Her rudeness was completely unacceptable. She didn't say "welcome to five below" or bye or anything. I know for a fact the person working in that area always says something on the way in and on the way out. Maybe I'm being a Karen but the amount of money I spend in that place, I shouldn't be stared at like a common criminal and then get an attitude at check out. This is the first time that has ever happened. Hopefully management sees this and knows who I'm referring to.

On Sunday afternoon, the store was completely deserted. I've never seen Marc's be so empty. There were literally maybe 5 people in the store. It was easy to navigate the store, fast checkout, and super convenient. The layout of this specific Marc's was different than the others I've been to which I found disorienting. I would call this store a work in progress. It was especially bleak compared to other locations. Some aisles were completely bare and had empty shelves. Some aisles were blocked and obstructed with inventory. Seemed like some sort of construction was happening. Nonetheless, I was able to find all my essentials - cat canned food, allergy medications, and some prepared foods. I was impressed with wings and BBQ tips available in the prepared foods area. It was very similar to Dave's in that respect and very tasty. Separate shoutout to closeouts area with a lot of Target finds - dresses, skirts, and rompers (regular and plus sizes). Stop by if you're looking for some cute fashion finds. Most items were around $5.99. Customer Service was not the best but not the worst. They don't really double bag heavy items. They ask how many items you have as opposed to counting. Not the best experience. It's not the worst place to pick up a few basics if you're already nearby, but it's definitely not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit. Overall, Marc's delivers mediocrity at a bargain -- exactly what you'd expect, but nothing more.

Over by Portage Crossings (a new high end shopping area) I assumed this Marc's would exceed every single expectation I could have. Wow, I was sadly mistaken. They had some very nice seasonal plants outside and they were arranged perfectly. Once inside, it was a whole new ballgame....and Marc's was the loser. The floors were dirty. I mean D-I-R-T-Y! The layout of this store is very very strange. It took me forever to find things....simply because they are not at all where they would be located in every other store I have been to. The produce was poorly stocked (out of many many things) and the dairy section looked like the zombie apocalypse just happened and everyone scrambled to get what they could. AND if that weren't enough, I waited in line for over 30 minutes to checkout. Not because the lines were out the door (although there were only 2 registers open and they were decently busy) but because BOTH of the cashiers working were slower than pouring molasses in the winter. Marshall's always a great selection of seasonal of decor and clothing items…read more This location is on the Strip in the North Canton and very accessible to other stores. There is plenty of parking, well lit parking lot, and within walking distance of other stores. The thing with Marshall's and their great comparable deals is, if you see something you like whether seasonal, clothing, shoes, kitchen ware etc you need to get it then. It's not guaranteed you'll find the same items every time you come into the store.
