Every day two different colored tags are 50% off so I only will get items if they are the sale color! There are so many isles to look through so it makes me not buy too much as well. Almost don't want to review because I'm not going to be able to offer any new insights. The other reviews are pretty dead on: the name of the game is going for the color deal of the day, it's always crowded with people that have no spacial reasoning, and the prices are set by what I assume is a Neanderthal that was incased in ice 3 million years ago. They discovered him, melted his ice case, handed him a pen and a dress from Shein. He marks it at $16 when brand new it was going for $7. They pat themselves on the back for finding such cheap labor in this caveman. Somewhere, the overseer at the Shein Factory looks down at the lines of children and has the same satisfaction. Really the worst part is the crowds and the audacity of their shoe pricing. A smart move is signing up for their text updates. Every morning you can get an update on a daily deal they're having. My brother was visiting from out of state and saw my text notification and said, "Yooo you got the Village Discount texts? [derogatory]" but for once the teasing didn't phase me because I really love thrifting for vintage stuff, and VDO can really stock some bangers if you're patient. The aisles are so darn narrow. Bring a bottle of water and your best frilled lizard energy to ward off enemies. Check the tags. Communicate with your dollar that VDO needs to stop stocking so much Shein. read more

Many mixed feelings... Clothes for the family, housewares, toys, books, sporting goods, large shoe selection. The prices are usually fine, but sometimes I'll catch a low quality item priced higher than a hard to find, expensive boutique item. Every now and then I'll find an amazing deal or an item I'm super surprised to find. Not sure why, but you will also catch some obviously damaged items out on the racks. Holes (large to tiny), snags, major stains, pen marks - check every single piece before buying to make sure nothing is damaged. Check seams, both sides, if it's a dress or skirt, open it up flat to make sure nothing is hiding. The key here to watch the color sales. Each week the colors change and 2 are featured at the same time, one of the colors going less and less thru the week. Sometimes they'll run bonus specials such as "all short sleeved t-shirts half off" or "all shoes half off," etc. and that's the time to stack up if it's a category you like. Another tip is if the price seems too good to be true, don't wait till tomorrow, or until that color tag goes to half price. Stuff doesn't last long here! This location is definitely bigger than the Cuyahoga Falls location. Some of the rules are different like CFalls won't let you take a cart out of the building, but this location will. That's much appreciated by some of us lugging around small children and the giant bags they cram all of your items into. Unlike other thrift stores, they are strict about you removing all of your hangers before getting to check out. The hangers go on a nearby rack. Staff is typically friendly except for literally one person. Check out lines can take up to 10-15 min, but with all of the savings I've gotten, I guess it's a trade off. This store waits until there is a long line of people out in the aisle(s) until they open up another register. What is their problem?? I don't know how many times I had an item or items only to see a long line of people with lots of clothes and only ONE register open with other employees doing everything else but getting people rung out. It is very frustrating to find something or things only to have to see a long line with only ONE register open so most times after I have spent time looking around in there and find something I just put those things down and walk out. They need to be much more considerate of their customers!! read more

Sundays are dollar days so one tag color is only $1 if its under 12. So I go on Sunday. One day had a guy tell me I must be bankrolled because my cart was packed (stuff for me..hubby...2 adult sons...daughter-in-law...2 grandkids.) Told him i didn't have to be. Walked out with 3 full bags for under $65. He was shocked. Sure some of it is more expensive than other thrift stores but it is also better quality. More upscale name brands than most thrift stores. I have never seen a more over priced thrift store in my life. The prices were shocking. You are better off going to the mall. The store was clean and somewhat organized which is the only positive thing I can say. Seriously, they are 2-3 times higher then Salvation Army and goodwill and their prices are bad enough. I really like this place I got a few popular branded clothes for a very good deal I just wish they were more organized by size..they seem to be organized by color and its hard to find a shirt or something u like then have to check the size and see if it fits rather than have everything grouped by size and have u pick from that..just makes more sense that way..they did have good stuff though if u dig..some of it is a little over priced but they have good sales on other stuff too so not a terrible deal read more

This isn't one of my favorite thrift spots, but I stop in anytime they're having a 50% off everything event. They do have a lot of merchandise, but I never find that much. Since I only go once or twice a year, I probably can't comment too much on their daily offerings. I am giving this location three stars mainly because of the customers you will have to deal with here. There's a duo of gay men that are always here on the 50% days. They must have a resale shop because they basically grab every dress. I want to like these guys because in theory they should be awesome. However, they cut you off, block dresses, and gloat about grabbing every dress they THINK is vintage. I'm not even sure they buy strictly vintage, but I can tell you where ever their shop is, it is full of ugly crap. I peeked in their cart today expecting to be jealous, but instead I was repulsed. While checking out, some woman decided to rant to me about the Pee Wee Herman gentleman who accompanied her. Apparently, he thinks the clothing she picks out for her three year old granddaughter makes her look promiscuous. He was creeping at the end cap grinning at me while she shared her complaint. I've never been happier to receive my receipt and bolt. I did find two dresses, three dvds, a sewing caboodle filled with new spools of every color of thread and two tops. My girlfriend found a few T-shirts and a barney comforter. If you can look past the fellow shoppers, it's worth going. You also may fare better on a day without special events. read more

There is also a Village Discount Outlet in Cuyahoga Falls on State Road. I love both equally...they always have some kind of tag discount day going on just about every day of the week as well as early bird specials, i.e. one day all yellow tagged items will be $0.75. These places have all of their clothing super organized, which is pretty impressive for a thrift store if you ask me. They also have a Facebook page that will let you know which discounts are coming up. They sell (obviously) used clothing and goods but they also have a lot of new overstock juniors clothing for a little bit higher price, but nothing compared to what you would pay for it in any other store. Meh. Their prices are WAY WAY WAY to high for items that are DONATED!! AmVets collects the items & then I believe Village purchases by the pound. They they price stuff too high. Once in awhile you can find a deal, but not worth the time & effort, if you ask me. I'd go to Savers up around Cleveland for some really great deals - well worth the time & drive to head up - there are 3 of them. Much better pricing, too. read more

This is my favorite thrift store. Some people say it's too expensive. However when I got a pair of shoes, a pair of jeans, 2 t shirts and a sweatshirt for $18 altogether I beg to differ. You have to play the game. Everyday they have half off for two specific tag colors. Only buy the stuff that's half off! Found something for full price? Wait till it goes on sale..that's part of the game. Their Facebook will tell you the sales they're having. I love to spend a couple hours picking through their stuff. I don't use fitting rooms I just eyeball for size and I've rarely been wrong.. So I can't comment on fitting rooms. They have a huge selection and the racks are sometimes even too tight where you can't even move the hangers down the rack. They organize by color in everything but pants are by size (at least for women's). They have a section of "betters" which I don't get because its often not better at all.. Some of the new (tag still on) clothes they have is of extremely low quality and high price..so Look through the other thousands of items and you will find a deal trust me. read more
