Your standard big lots, but it's closing! The shelves are mostly clear but I'd say 1/3 in front are full of Christmas and holiday decor. Toiletries. Home decor. Food still but not on extra sale. I haven't seen much that cheap. Some are only 10% off which is odd for a store that's closing. I went back today to check a recliner that's still $334. I called to ask when they're closing and they advised they didn't know (not sure if that's true or not). Today it looked like an employee was still unloading boxes so maybe they periodically put more out even though half the shelves are empty to hold merch if they needed. No complaints - just was hoping for a bigger sale since closing. read more

This store has some great bargains. It's important to shop here weekly as you will find some hit or miss items. This store is in a great location that's easily accessible. There is plenty of parking and it is well lit at night. The parking lot well-maintained and there is a variety of other stores amd restaurants in the plaza. The store is well-maintained. Items are clearly marked and the aisles are free from clutter. This store also has home furnishings with an interest free option for financing. About once a month, the additional 20% off is offered with no exclusions. This is a good store if you have kids because the snacks are reasonably priced. Nice retail store chain offering discounted items such as furniture, food, snacks, household goods and more. We went here to just look around and see what sales we could find, and we found a few dog treats to buy that were on sale and did not contain any soy, wheat, or corn. We were greeted as we entered the store and the employees were busy restocking the shelves and still able to answer questions to help us find what we were seeking. All went well on this shopping excursion at this location. read more

This big lots is located just off the I 75 on College Avenue in the Ruskin Sun City Ctr. area. In the big lots parking lot you'll find a church the DMV McDonald's KFC and a few other small businesses. When you walk inside it has that big lots feeling but this one is smaller than most big lots. Finding stuff is fairly easy and the prices are located where they should be. The furniture area is actually a little bit smaller than most of the big lots I have been too. Every time I come here I'm able to find something useful at a good price. The only reason why this location lost two stars is because I've made three visits and this has happened every single time during my visits. There's always a huge line at check out, and there'll be two staff members in the cashier area while this line begins to form. One visit there, a manager that was in the cashier area that was talking to the cashier notice the line looked away and then walk away. I don't know if this is a big lots policy but at most other locations when the line forms they call for help this location is not the case. I guess I'm just used to working in retail where if you have more than three people you call for help. I like big lots their stuff is cheap and nice. I just really wish that their customer service would step it up. I will return to big lots but will try and avoid this one. read more

Came into the return a product. Typical very long lines plus filthy bathroom. Waste basket on wall is overflowing no paper to dry hands on. You can find great deals so I do tolerate the lines. The cashiers are always pleasant & try to be helpfull I would give this store the higher rating that a big lots deserves if the bathroom would be consistently clean. read more

Furniture department employees are very helpful. I have had several positive interactions with the staff here. I always find treasures here! Sometimes things can be a bit overpriced for "what" it is but it's a different selection than you get at other department stores. Good home goods sections, and I love the furniture. Not to mention seasonal is nice as well. I bought my beautiful dining set here and was offered a generous discount to take the floor model in order to get it when we needed it. I've always had calm shopping experiences here. read more

This store has been since May after purchasing two patio chairs has been giving me the run around and never tag the chairs and sell them. After I've called ask to see if the chairs are ready for pick up. No one employee can say that it is there fault no one knows that system in the store after I purchased the chairs. Have been lied to multiple times and will never purchase any furniture from them I don't recommend you do either. The last employee tried to blame it was my fault when it not the customer fault after you sell The chairs and they are not there because no one has there act together there. read more

This place should be renamed as Pig Lots. I saw employees stocking in aisles that were filled with spills. When they finished stocking, they left pieces of cardboard in those same aisles. When you ask a question of them, they either don't know or they go to find the answer and never return. The store manager is absent, if they even have one. I never seen one, I see assistant managers. The bathroom is filthy. I don't know when they scrub the toilets because there's dirt caked on the base of both toilets. The urinals smell of urine. They must be brewing a new culture for some super bug in there. This has to be the worst Big Lots in the area. The one in Brandon is in better shape and that building looks older than the one in Ruskin. read more
