Don't judge a big lots by it's cover... the Big Lots of Victorville is pretty charming... I don't frequent this store front as much as I use to... now that I live in LA, but every holiday season or visit I tend to stop in as the organization of this chain and especially this high desert spot in particularly improves each visit. The selection of furniture is massive at BL VV and I believe they (all Big Lots) do free delivery as well as mattress removal and setup if you're in the market for a new/updated style of sleeping. We mostly stopped in for miscellaneous items (not so much furniture... but hey they carry that) and browsing... hoping to score some scented candles and last minute gift items for the family... got an hard plastic iphone case for my sister, some fun toys for the niece and nephews and while the seasonal holiday merch was getting to a bare minimum when we stopped in... we still managed to find quite a bit of last minute items we needed including some great deals on spices (Dill, Parsley, Ground Pepper, etc)... They also have some fun board games on sale for playing with the family and the service on the floor was almost as great as the service we received during check out. All the customers were in the holiday spirit... allowing people to go ahead of them with only one or two items. And though the BL off La Paz Dr... just off the 15 FWY.. is surrounded be a dozen businesses the lot is very spacious for maneuvering around. A dated bargain store that could use an upgrade but is definitely making up for it in so many other ways. read more

Best customer service!!! I selected a grand 62" faux marble mantel via internet & it was only available in store for pick up at the Victorville location. I was coming from Colton so it was ways long about 1hr. I spoke to Mike and he made the pick up a breeze. I took it home and unboxed it and realized the corner of the main piece was damaged. Called up Mike right away and he was quick to make things right. He was gonna have it delivered to me at no cost but since I was eager to have it that same day and couldn't wait we decided to go pick it up at the store and make that drive again. I wanted to make sure that the piece was in good condition as well. When I arrived Bill & Chip helped me out. They were outstanding!!! So attentive and very helpful during the stress I was feeling about my mantel. I left happy! No struggle at all. Thanks Mike, Chip & Bill!!!! Happy Holidays because now I can go home and have a beautiful mantle to decorate just in time for Christmas! Oh and by the way! Big Lots gives me hives... Its about the same as KMart, scuzzy, dated and a funky looking crowd. Also the area leaves to be desired. The prices are great though AND what makes them extra special is they have Girl Scout cookies for $1.40, yeah baby, momma stocked up on the samoas and ate a whole box in the car on the way home. Dare I admit, I have also bought furniture here and it was pretty good quality. Service is great, the manager and other workers are always nice and helpful. Went to big lots this morning and got my limit of supplies, I.e. toilet paper and water etc. I got two Scott toilet paper packs and two generic. When I got to the front I realized that I was only permitted to buy one or the other. The woman in front of me asked if she could have the pack I wasn't gonna keep (as she only managed to find one pack in the store), I said yes, but the cashier didn't want to let her have it. She put it behind her register on the floor. The other customer then asked the cashier why she couldn't have it when I clearly gave it to her. The cashier then said "whatever!" I offered the additional pack to the customers in line behind me, but the cashier quickly stopped me and told me to hand it ove, that I wasn't allowed to pass it out. In walked an elderly woman who overheard me and asked if there were any packs of toilet paper left. The cashier lied and said "no,I don't know." The cashier was rude. And very discourteous to those around her. I understand that things are overwhelming, but when you are a customer service representative you are to be polite to the customers. Don't lie. It was just toilet paper. And I understand there is a shortage, but they were in my basket first and why am I not allowed to decide who they go to next? I wanted to say more to the cashier, but I simply asked her why the woman who walked in couldn't have the paper behind her when it was available. The cashier said "because other people have been waiting". Seriously? It's toilet paper, dude. I didn't get the cashiers name. But she looked to be about in her 50s with shoulderlength salt and pepper hair. To whoever she was, and her manager: This is UNACCEPTABLE rudeness and a discourtesy to customers. It's a cashier position, Shouldn't be too hard to do your job with a smile and a better attitude. Everyone is going through hard times, the least you can do as a CSR is be kind!! Btw, I used to be a sales associate for Big Lots back in 2014. I know the training received for how to treat the "Jennifers" who come in. This cashier is an embarrassment for how Big Lots should be represented. Shame on her. read more

It is a typical Big Lots retail store. They usually sell surplus furniture, appliances, and home media. This inventory is usually discounted, than at regular stores. However, the choices, for these items, are quite limited. Still, the prices for those items are fair, and on the cheap side. Furthermore, the staff is polite, and willing to help. I forgot to mention, it is one of the two Big Lots stores, located in High Desert region. Definitely, if anyone is in Victorville, I would recommend to shop for some discounted items. I like Big Lots. They have a lot of good stuff here. Kind of like a mini Target. They got furniture for the home and patio. Tools for the garden, groceries, accessories, seasonal and kitchen appliances can all be found here at great prices. The place is next to Dollar Tree but it seems more cheery inside. In other words lees ghetto. Lol. Hey you gonna save Big and you're safe inside. Lol! Staff are friendly and polite. You could find Low Carb stuff here as well as proteins and some organic products. read more

This review is regarding the employees. Two in particular always standout and go above and beyond. Cindy in the furniture section is always helpful . She greets everyone with a smile and even if the store is a little busy she gives everyone the same attention and great customer service. Her work ethics is consistent every single time I see her. Marco assisted us yesterday and he too demonstrated the same attitude despite the stores busyness. These two associates deserve a raise, promotion or some sort of recognition for demonstrating better customer service than I received in higher end stores. Thank you Cindy and Marcos. read more
