I feel like I'm talking with a friend, not just an employee when I go shopping now. I'm not a big in-person shopper so having employees that are understanding and friendly really lessens my anxiety. The new products and sales Bath and Body has been rolling out are amazing. I love their aromatherapy line and the concentrated room scents they offer. Their laundry scents are really nice too. I try to get those during a good sale. They offer buy online and pick up in store at this location. This location is in the same shopping area as the Target on Main Street in Hesperia. I grabbed some of the baskets and loaded up about $200 worth of plates and bowls. The guy behind the counter was named Joshua. Really nice guy. He rang me up and was very friendly. I had no complaints about how he treated me. Pier1 gives a military discount too!! I can't give more than 3 stars though. While my items were being wrapped, Joshua was talking with another employee. He was giving her some type of training tips or something. This customer was standing at the counter and was being ignored by the two employees. She then said, "excuse me." Joshua told her to wait. He continued to talk with the other employee. I felt so bad for this lady. After quite some time and when Joshua was good and ready he pointed his finger at her and asked what she wanted. Almost like scolding a dog. It was just rude. I'm not sure what customer service training program Pier1 people go through. But, this was terrible and unacceptable. To make a customer wait while you finish a conversation with another employee and then treat them like he did was just wrong.

There were displays of lotions, body products, candles and more. The store was packed with goodies and merchandise but it wasn't messy. It was organized, just a lot of products. There were two employees that were talking, and neither greeted me upon entering the store. To be honest I don't think they even saw that I entered the store they were so engrossed in their conversation. There's no place for a "line" so customers just stand on either side of the travel (miniature) items and hope that's where the line starts. When I picked up my order the cashier seemed like she had a difficult time physically finding it even though she indicated she placed it on the cart earlier. After showing ID and leaving the store to the parking lot, I realized the items were not what I ordered. I quickly returned to the store to get the correct items. The cashier was able to quickly replace the incorrect item with the correct one. No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience or acknowledging her error. I thought this store would be a good location as it's a smaller store than some of the other locations in the area but after visiting this location, nope. No thank you.

This store is in the mall. I was offered a free sample to enjoy, by a friendly employee, while I browsed. The candies here are always consistently good. I really can't say I have a favorite but I do enjoy the ones with nuts. So far I have returned three times in a period of a couple of weeks and not to buy more hostess gifts! I got hooked on some varieties I have not tried before just because of the free samples. I am thoroughly impressed with their sugar free chocolate covered peanut brittle and how good it tasted. I was given two full sized chocolate bars as a gift with my last purchase. I normally will not buy anything sugar free as I intensely dislike the taste of artificial sweeteners.
