So I love Big Lots and whenever I'm in a city that has a Big Lots I have to go to it, haha. Big Lots is a big clearance store. They have mostly food, toiletries, housewares, toys, and some furniture. I go there almost exclusively for the food. They have lots of items that I've never seen before, especially coming from Canada. I know that Americans have lots of cereal flavours that Canadians don't get, but I think the varieties at Big Lots is more than at regular American grocery stores. I think they sell overstocks and things that might have been released in limited markets. Prices are really low too. They also sometimes have discontinued makeup, which is great if you can find an item that you love that isn't readily available anymore. I love going to Big Lots because you never know what you're going to find :) It's in a strip mall and there's lots of parking. read more

We are new to the area and needed decent furniture with out breaking the bank. Big lots had exactly what we needed. Customer service was amazing! The workers were very kind and patient with us choosing what we wanted. And we got such a good deal on our living room set! They had a large selection of everything we needed to furnish our new home. The store itself was clean, it was organized and the restrooms were clean! They had lots of great deals going on the and prices are all so affordable. My husband and I are so happy with our purchase here! I'm only giving this place 4 stars because they do not offer delivery! It was a pain having to rent a truck and then go back and forth between two places just to get our stuff. But other than that we are very pleased and will be back to shop there for sure. read more

My husband and I just moved to the Watertown, NY area and bought a 2400 sq ft home that we needed to fill with furniture! Well Big lots had lots of beautiful, affordable, and brand new furniture with a payment plan so we didn't have to pay all the money up front. Thankfully they did not need to run our credit it was just pay a little bit each paycheck till it's paid off! When buying a home, credit takes a drag so that helped us tremendously. The store associate Devon. He is a male store employee with longer brown hair was so good to us. He was very welcoming and very thorough in telling us our options. Home buying has been crazy so it was nice to have someone that genuinely cared. The furniture manager was a female with brown hair and was slim. I can't remember her name right now but she was SO VERY NICE. She was helpful and i felt that these two had our best interest in mind. She also helped us load everything even when we had to make two trips! I will continue to give Big Lots our business and especially the Watertown, NY location. read more

If i could give this store zero stars i would. I cannot believe how horrible this store is. First of all, it stinks!! No store should smell like that! I also went to use the bathroom while i was there....BIG MISTAKE! Although it smelled surprisingly better than the store, there was toilet paper all over the floor, what i believe was feces on the toilet seat, and there was no paper towels and to top it all off on the way out i saw a huge spider crawling on the floor of their backroom!! Disgusting. That all isnt even the worst of it though, i had found one item i needed to get that was cheaper than anyone elses in the ad, the original reason for my visit but couldnt find it so i asked the manager. She was a heavy set woman with curly blonde hair. I believe her name was lucinda, lucy, something like that. She not only disrespected me by telling me i was wrong and "couldnt read the ad correctly" but then as she was talking to me she yelled at one of her employees and was very harsh on her. I give all the employeees that work for her gold medals cause i could never work for somebody as rude and disrespectful as her. So not only did i have a terrible experience and not get my item but i found out that i will never step foot in that store again and i will be telling all my friends and family not to go there either. I hope for the sake of all the customers and the employees at big lots they do something about that manager. She needs to stop acting like she runs the world, its a retail store for gods sake. I have been a big lots before. I was not prepared for what I encountered when I walked through those doors today. I was in total shock. Big lots corporate needs to come down and close this store. I really don't know where to start. Guess I'll start with the smell, it had a weird lingering 3 day old skunk smell in the store. The floors were dirty, they needed a good mopping and sweeping, I got it, it's watertown, and the snow here sucks, but that still no excuse, take pride people! The area rugs looked like they have not been touched in weeks, plus they were all crooked on the floors like no one cared. The shelving in the store was old and stained, not just in one place but all over. There were empty boxes laying around that some employee left after stocking shelves. I found broken items on the shelves, open toys on the shelves, whole isles only half filled. I have been to other big lots before and I would return to them, but I would never set foot in this place again! read more
