I would definitely recommend Big Mike & Sons' tree service. The crew was great. When making the appointment, Shane quickly returned my call and after a couple of text messages we booked the appointment with a fair price. On the day of our appointment, the crew arrived early, evaluated the area and quickly set-up. They cut about 4' off of a strip of bamboo and trimmed a magnolia tree that probably had not been touched in 20 years. Although the heavy rains delayed the tree trimming, Shane was great at communicating and rescheduling. They did an excellent job trimming very overgrown pittosporum trees and a giant white bird of paradise, as well as removing a small unwanted pepper tree. During my visit to Irvine, I came across a crow stuck in a tree with its legs wrapped by a string and it was hanging from about 15 feet high. Had his crew dig out 4 decent sized blue agaves from my yard. His worker Andrew had them out in 2 hours and left everything clean and neat at a very reasonable price. This company called back within minutes, stopped by within 10 minutes and gave me a bid all within an hour. They arrived early on the day the job was scheduled and the job was complete before noon. They are friendly, clean and get the work done at a reasonable rate. Only con is that I have to pay out of pocket for pool acid to get rid of the root of the palm trees they took out in the back yard. Apparently, they could not get there machine back there to do the job. They also did not get rid of the hedge on the stucco of my side yard that was in the original quote, because they said it may kill my neighbors hedge on her side. I probably should have asked to swap out the back small palm since they did not get rid of the hedge on the side wall. All in all I would use them again. It was hot outside and the extra money I paid, I consider a tip. read more
