Everything went well. I found Big Moe's Starters and Alternators through an Internet search. And I am beyond excited, pleased, ecstatic about it. I could have just picked up a remanufactured from one of the big box auto parts stores, but years ago...I learned my lesson on a different vehicle with a starter motor. Remanufactured garbage... it didn't last. It overheated. Who knows what stuff they put inside of it. NEVER AGAIN. Took this Alternator off my 1972 Monte Carlo.... from the moment you walk into the shop... the first thing that you see is CLEAN. Look into the shop area... it's clean too. Cleanliness is something of a lost art in today's world. Dropped the alternator off for them to review. Owner Lonnie called me the next day with the options. Replace with a higher output alternator, internally regulated.... or rebuild the stock unit upping its capabilities and replacing the external voltage regulator. Wanting to keep the car as stock looking as possible, I opted for the rebuilding the stock and replaced regulator. Gave the go ahead A few days later... I received the call... it was all done ready to go. Met Lonnie at his shop, great conversation about the alternator.... and what else I needed to do to make the upgrade work best. (Heavier wire) Reinstalled the alternator, and I am just incredibly happy that all went well. I so highly recommend Big Moe for the quality you will get. Next rebuild will be the factory starter... when it fails. read more

Full time RVer when starter went out on an old 2003. Needed the pre-existing heat shield intact and new starters don't have it. They rebuilt the old starter in an hour. Not only quick, but they went above and beyond by cleaning and spraying a protective coat on the shield. Looks brand new and I know it'll fit perfect. I was restoring a 69 GMC pickup and needed an alternator. I bought and replaced 5 from different stores that all lasted 1 to 4 months over a few years including returning for warranty replacements. I googled "alternator rebuild 78154" and these guys were the first result so I gave them a chance! I dropped off my alternator for a Lexus LS430UL and they had it rebuilt in less than 24hrs! When I showed up to pick it up I didn't recognize it, they had not only rebuilt but also steel shot so it literally looks like a brand new part from lexus! Plus they have candy for their customers. Haha I highly recommend them and will be using them anytime I need a starter or alternator rebuilt in the future. Edit: After my alternator was installed there was an issue with flickering lights... I drove the car for a month through this issue and took it back to the guys who installed it. They removed the alternator and I brought it back to Big Moe's to have them test it. And there are NO ISSUES with the alternator! These guys are awesome they're going above and beyond to help me out and give me peace of mind by first hand showing me how they test it and put load on it. This guys rock, very few businesses that still operate like these guys. Honest, fast, quality and outstanding customer service. First time I was in, they tested my starter and told me it wasn't bad. They told me what to look for and I was able to diagnose problem to a bad ignition switch. You walk in and are greeted with a smile, all questions are answered and they even offer drink or snack to visiting customers. I highly recommend Big Moe. We have an older boater. The starter went out last summer and we tried for months to replace it. We bought and returned two starters that we ordered from other boat stores. Finally is desperation we called Big Moe's and asked if they could possibly rebuild our broken starter. They were wonderful on the phone and offered to take a look at it. We took it to them and even though it was beyond repair, they managed to find the correct starter, had it shipped overnight, and we had it the next day. The starter they acquired worked perfectly and cost a third of what we paid for the other starters. Next time we will call Big Moe first. The people were great, the store spotless, and their follow up was wonderful. They actually called to see if we were having any problems. We had forgotten how nice good customer service really is.
