[[HIGHLIGHT]]Travis gets 5+ Stars - he did great dealing with some minor issues that came up during the install of our new tires for our dually adventure-van.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My biggest disappointment had been with not being able to get my alignment done. When I ordered my tires, I was told that a free alignment inspection would be done and an additional fee would be required to correct any issues. I agreed to this and prepaid the $1561.62 for my 6 tires. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Day of the appointment, we were early for our scheduled time, but Travis got us in right away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] About an hour later, tires were installed and told it was all done. But, there was no alignment report. Travis said that they could do the alignment inspection; but not the corrective adjustments due to it being too wide of a vehicle for their machine. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known this. Furthermore, one of the tires had a slow leak and I had to go back later that day to get the leak fixed (they had to rebuild a seal for the TPMS on a valve stem). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, professional staff and took care of us promptly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As mentioned, I was very specific when I ordered the tires that I wanted an alignment at the time of the new tires. The next time we got an oil change at Big O in El Dorado Hills they wanted to charge extra to remove an additional part in order to change the oil filter. Purchased $1800 tires for my son's 4Runner, and after he left the shop, he noticed a noise with every rotation of the rear tire that wasn't there when we dropped it off. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When he went in to have the lugs torqued, he mentioned it to them, but neither he nor they had time to deal with it at that moment, so they said to bring it back in when he could.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well, 3 months later the noise was still there and we finally brought it back in to be looked at. The manager went out and used a crowbar to wrench at it and told us to drive it and let him know if it wasn't fixed. Well, it was undrivable after that, and Big O diagnosed it as a cracked rotor. Unable to get it back to Missoula so my husband could fix it, we had Big O do the work, which they were able to do for us that day. After getting home and talking to my husband about what had happened, we called to inquire how this ended up be a fault and financial responsibility of ours. I'll start with the obvious, there are A LOT of bad reviews for Big O. Honestly, we almost skipped going because of the negative reviews. In the end, we decided to give them a go & I'm glad that we did. We're back on the road with confidence. Situation: We're on the way back to Minot ND from Yellowstone NP. On our way to the park, we blew a tire on our camper and put the spare on. We weren't exactly comfortable with heading back with no spare. We popped in to see about getting 4 new or at least a spare. It was our expectation they wouldn't be able to get us in, or it'd be a long wait. Nope! They were knocking it out within minutes, right there in the lot... 40 minutes, to be exact, from arrival to departure. We had 4 new tires & never felt as if we were inconveniencing anyone. I was surprised by the contrast in the service we experienced and the reports from others. As a matter of fact, one gentleman was kind enough to direct traffic for us to back the camper out! That brings me to the 1 star deduction, it is NOT related to service, product or pricing. It wasn't very easy to access the garages/lot with a tow & our camper is a short 17' - I could certainly see that being problematic for larger vehicles. I recently bought four new tires from Big O in Bozeman. The day after they installed them, one of the new tires went flat. I pulled over immediately and put on a spare, but the tire had already been damaged. According to Big O, the only solution is for me to pay for another new tire. I'm very disappointed by the whole experience, which has been a major hassle. I would think that a reputable business would take some responsibility and at least offer to help in some way. EDIT: Changing my rating to 3 stars. After my initial post, a manager from Big O called to apologize for the way they handled this and offered to pay for half of what my new tire cost, which I really appreciated. Just wish their initial response had been something along the lines of, "Bring the bad tire in and we'll take a look at it, if it was punctured while driving that's on you, but if it was defective or installed improperly then we'll cover the new tire." read more

Had a flat tire driving up to Big Sky and looked up a few places nearby to get it fixed. Big O Tires was the first one I called and decided to give it a try based on the pleasant phone interaction. Service is on a first come first serve base, and they tell you upfront. Had a few backup options but ultimately decided to trust this business. Got checked in immediately and luckily I was the first in line, so had to wait just a bit. They took care of my tire, put back the spare in its place and gave me the car ready to go. The guy at the front advised me to keep an eye on it because the hole was on the edge and he said it might leak in the future. So all in all I'm happy, they fixed my problem in a timely manner, no weird up selling, no problem of any kind and smooth communication. I'd recommend this place for your tire needs. read more

Hi, we took our 2012 Ford F 250 4 Wd in for a slow leak in the tire. There was a small nail about 2" from the sidewall. The owner of the Big O said he could not/would not repair, and had to replace all 4 tires. I checked with the dealer, this truck as a push button 4 wd ( not full time ) does not require all 4 be changed ( 2 would have been fine ) .When asked about this, the owner became confrontational, and wanted to fight. What a complete jerk. We took to another shop, they fixed the flat, and explained that it was not too close to the sidewall to fix, and they like to help people as opposed to forcing to buy tires. I have no idea why this amazing business has ANY bad reviews. We are traveling cross country from South Carolina to Spokane Washington and our two front tires went bad on the way. We noticed in Yellowstone but the closest place that had our sized tire was Bozeman. Big O got us in their shop IMMEDIATELY and gave us the best price on three tires (two new front tires and one new spare!) for under $400. They also didn't make us detrailer our car or put us on a lift. These guys safely replaced our tires right In the parking lot. They had three guys working simultaneously and got us in and out in less than 30 minutes. They were nice, friendly, helpful and answered all of our questions. They had knowledgeable responses for all of our concerns. And they helped us back out into traffic so we could leave safely and quickly. Can't say enough good things! Rob is insinuating that I gave him incorrect info and this is the reason the wrong tire size was ordered. I gave him exactly the info they asked for, the make, model, and year of my vehicle. If there was more info they needed, they failed to ask me, I did not lie, and I certainly did not give them any incorrect information. I would've liked to have stayed away from this shady business with a clearly dishonest owner if I could have, but I had driven over an hour from Big Sky to come get my tires changed for the winter and couldn't afford to wait another week to come back with the conditions the roads were in. So I paid the difference and got the $850 tires. After seeing the owners response and how he resorts to petty name calling when someone calls his business out on dishonest practices, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd done all of this on purpose in order to charge me the extra $300. Also love how he admits that his employees are in fact rude, and it's my fault for not taking an extra hour out of my day to drive around town looking for another tire shop with employees with a decent attitude. Where to even begin... The girl at the front desk is incredibly rude ! While waiting in line, I observed her interactions with a Hispanic family who was using their phone on speaker to have a translator describe what they needed. The Big O employee appeared very frustrated and the costumers walked out.. (I should have followed)... Honestly can't believe she treated costumers like that... But on to the main reason for this review.. I dropped off two BRAND NEW rims I bought just yesterday, to have tires mounted for the quote of $127 per tire, installed.. When I went to pick up my wheels, the charge was $323.98 !! When I questioned the price, she said they must have looked at the wrong tire.. (And that was the only tire that size they had) When I replied "that's not right", she again told me it was almost $325! I told her I didn't want them and to take them off my rims.. They brought my rims back to front desk all bent up! I looks like they they got all butt hurt because I wasn't going to let them screw me over, and beat the crap out of my new rims! Same rude girl said it's NORMAL for smaller rims to get bent up during tire install . A guy took the really bad rim to the back to attempt to repair it, but just ended up chipping it all up. Theses are steel solid faced rims, not aluminum or magnesium.. They seriously just handed my bent up NEW rims back to me and just stood there looking at me... ALSO.. they wanted me to leave the rims there so someone else could look at them next week... Seriously?!? Way over priced, and will over estimate to scare you away. Was told needed $4k in repairs. Went to dealership, came out with $1k total. Most of what was said needed done, didn't need to be done. Was told I needed all 4 calipers replaced, ended up two of the caliper pins were dry and hard to come out, took them like 30 minutes to free them. Needed zero calipers. Purchased a tire to replace a flat. Upon installation a chunk of the machine broke off and was embedded in the tire resulting in a loud clunk each rotation. Had it looked at another place and found out the tire was the wrong size, too. They refunded my purchase but not the labor. What? It's the labor that resulted in this debacle and a second trip to a tire store. $20 more of a refund to stand behind your work and my review would be much different. I just recently moved to town a few months back. I needed snow tires. I usually use less Schwab b4 moving. but Billings was a bit too far of a trip so I decided to try Big O for winter tires. I found what tires I wanted on line and then went into the store here on 7th in Bozeman to set up an appointment. I was told they had a sale going on for the tires I had chosen if I waited till Monday to get them. Besides they would have to order the tires. I then filled out for a Big O credit card to pay for the tires. I Got approved and then set up an appointment for the following Monday at 10 am to get tires put on. I showed up at 9:45 told them I had an appointment and handed them my keys. I also asked if they could please check my brakes and the alignment since it's a free service of theirs. My car didn't even go back into a bay for over an hour. I happened to glance out front at about 11:30 and saw that my infinity was out of the bay and parked in the front. So I went and asked if it was done. I was told yes it was and I was also handed a quote for $693.94. On top of the bill for tires. The quote was for brakes, rotors and a alignment. I asked about it he told me my brakes where at zero and needed to be replaced. he also handed me the test paper showing my car needed an alignment. Which I new it did need that. I new for sure it didnt need to have new rotors. Maybe pads at most. So my fiance (he is a mechanic) grabbed some pads from auto zone the next day and when he pulled the tire off and got to the pads he finds that I still had at least 50% on the brake pads. So no need to change them at all. I have pics that show the new pads against the old ones still on car. So at this point I feel really taken advantage of. What if I would of just said ok fix it and then I would of paid that $694. And all just because they wanna rip customer off. Im thinking one reason maybe because I am a female but Im not sure. So about a week later I went in to have the lug nuts retorqued at 100 miles like the warranty states to do. And after asking for that I asked to speak to a manager. He asked the problem so I gave him the quote I showed him the pics of brakes. He tells me maybe they (THE WORKERS) made a mistake and didn't check them all. I said a 693.94 mistake?? And then asked why would they just check one. There are 4 brakes and all tires are off. Its not hard to check the pads. I showed him the pic and asked if they looked like they where at zero to him. he said no but then also said mistakes happen. I was so mad at this point I decided I would walk away and told him I'd be writing a review. I left the lobby area to go back to my vehicle. Because I still had to have the lug nuts done. So I now have tires with 60,000 miles of warranty and I have to go back to big o every 5000 miles to keep the warranty and not void it. I HATE I have to go back. But that folks will be the last and ONLY little business they will get from me ever in life. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Bought $1200.00 tires here for my truck. After install the psi was all over the place and the wheels where not calibrated to there location. I've be been in multiple times to try to get a rotation. I'm told two hour wait. I go in today and ask for a rotation. I'm told "this ain't McDonald's dude" by the front desk guy. This place is the worst! This location operates on a first come - first serve basis, but not really. I recently brought my car in for brakes and an oil change. I was the first to arrive, promptly checked in at 7:59 when they opened, and was informed the car should be done by 1pm. When I returned at 1pm our car hadn't even been pulled into the garage!!!!! Rob provided the explanation that they only have 3 mechanics, 1 has been working on a car since January. The other two mechanics were working on the 4 people ahead of me arriving at 7:59, 8:17, 8:26, and 11:49. First come, first serve? It seems that even for basic maintenance. like oil changes and brakes, the store is operating on a, 'we might get to it today... its possible...' basis. At the very least they are suffering from some major time management issues. Furthermore, I left a review on the Big - O website, which has been deleted due to the low rating. Imagine, a mechanic with only 4 and 5 star reviews. Deleting feedback to lie to the public about the quality of service providing is a disgusting level of dishonesty... even for a workshop!!! I've been using Big O Tires for years (since 2006). I have purchased tires, and I regularly get my oil/lube/filter services here. I've always had good experiences here, and a lot of other reviewers have, too. There are a few that have had bad experiences due to arguably high or unreasonable expectations. I hope the owner will continue to provide excellent customer service and help the employees continue to improve their CS skills. This is a great shop with a long history in Bozeman, and I want them to stick around! Keep up the good work, and don't forget to look for ways to improve. Thanks!! I have been going to Big O for a few years, not anymore... Yesterday I took a vehicle in because it was having some issues with starting, not one but two auto parts stores in the valley tested my battery and said it was fine, and I was almost sure the issue was something to do with the serpentine belt, and told them this. The guy at big o soon assured me that I needed a new battery before they could test anything else, I said okay (I knew this wasn't the issue but understood where he was coming from) then they told me that the battery was the only problem, and that my vehicle was good to go.... I was driving to big sky this morning and lost the serpentine belt all together, not sure if anything else is damaged because of this, but now I not only paid almost $200 for a battery I didn't need, but my vehicle is now not drivable. U screwed the wiring up disconnected the heater took the air conditioning and never replaced the motor . . The back blowers stay in now with the key off . U disconnected the radio. I walked in the next day and explained my problem to Collin who had a very approachable understanding and genuine attitude. He stated "he wanted to help me" Even though they were super busy.
