Not the place to go for wine, specialty beers or ciders, but they have a pretty good selection nonetheless. It was built in 1894 to function as a more permanent home for the Indiana Dental College (IDC). For a couple of decades, this was the spot where the city's dentists trained before the school was acquired by Indiana University and moved to its current location several blocks west to the campus of IU Indianapolis. The structure was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Parking is widely available in their own lot and carts are conveniently located too. On this visit, I was searching for a specific flavor of pretzels that Kiara told me about (the ones she gets on the plane), which are supposedly only sold at Total Wine. I saw other flavors in the store, but not the one I was looking for. The brand of the pretzels is Stellar and I was searching for the Maui Monk flavor. The website indicated that they had it in stock, so I asked a worker for help. Unfortunately, he was unhelpful and made me feel like I was bothering him, so I continued searching on my own. After some time looking on my own, I asked another employee, who was much more helpful. He took the time to check and explained that they were likely out of stock and that the online inventory isn't always accurate. He also mentioned how popular the pretzels are and that they sell out quickly--even he buys several when they come in. My husband was also looking for a small bottle of Cointreau, but they were out of that as well. I decided to try another flavor of the pretzels - Sweet and Sparky. These were good, had a spice to them with the buffalo flavoring. These bags are priced at $6.49. I'd like to eventually try the other flavors, including the one I was looking for. This visit was hit-or-miss in terms of customer service and item availability.

Like opening the door to beer nirvana! Small but quite decent wine selection; an interesting, if not as complete collection of liquors. Quite friendly and pleasant folks behind the counter. The store was well stocked, had a decent variety and really nice store staff. I was buying some Fireball and he offered me a shot of a new liquor called Angel and Demons. It's got a similar cinnamon whisky taste, a little less alcohol content and a little cheaper. It was good. The woman ahead of me was insisting that her item rang up wrong and did they offer to go check? Or even say anything? No. She even said fine she'll pay the price- but the sign is wrong. The employee proceeds to throw her credit card to the ground and stomps off to check the price like a 5 year old. Seriously? I was flabbergasted. I said "we are your customers" and he gave us a death stare. At which point I opted to leave and so did the girl with the actual issue. I will never return and I have never seen anything like it. Crazy!
