Sadly, I didn't have my Kroger card with me. They wouldn't use one at the counter. Had to pay full price for sale items.

I am writing this review after multiple incidents in December 2025 and January 2026 involving the pharmacist on duty (Eric). During this period, my husband suffered a third rotator cuff tear, which has now progressed to requiring a full shoulder joint replacement. His physician issued valid, legally written prescriptions, including controlled substances, to manage severe pain related to this injury. On multiple occasions, Eric refused to fill these prescriptions, insisting that we contact the prescribing physician for "additional verification." We complied each time. Even after verification was obtained, the prescriptions were still not filled. Beyond the refusals themselves, the conduct was unacceptable. Eric was consistently rude, dismissive, and on more than one occasion hung up the phone on both my husband and me while we were attempting to resolve the issue calmly and respectfully. At one point, we were told to change the dosage of a prior prescription in order to avoid filling a newly prescribed one. Medication decisions of that nature belong between a patient and their licensed physician, not as a workaround suggested at the pharmacy counter. I fully understand and respect a pharmacist's responsibility to ensure controlled substances are dispensed appropriately. However, what occurred here went beyond professional judgment and crossed into obstructive behavior and poor patient care, resulting in repeated delays in access to medically necessary treatment during a serious injury. I strongly urge Kroger management to review this pattern of behavior, as no patient dealing with severe injury should be treated this way. read more

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to acknowledge the outstanding service I received from two young men working the register and bagging last Tuesday evening. In a time when it's increasingly common to encounter young adults who struggle with basic employability skills, these two stood out in the best way. They greeted me with genuine smiles, used appropriate and respectful customer-service language, and demonstrated enthusiasm, courtesy, and professionalism throughout the entire interaction--especially impressive given the late hour. Standing in line at Kroger with 17 other carts waiting to check out as they only have 4 self service kiosks open with 4 employees standing around doing nothing. Not a Manger or leader to be seen! This place has gone so downhill in the last 12 months. read more

The pharmacy is quick and efficient. I love how they send a text when your prescription is ready. There is also an option for sane day if needed. They're friendly and if you have few grocery items they'll ring those up for you too. On a side note they have $5 sushi on Wednesday limited variety but a good deal. read more

I came for corn and they only had shucked corn. I want the fresh but I thought I would give it a try. I cooked it and it was rotten. I don't know how long the corn had been in that packaging. I went to the section to get some Wright's bacon and the case was a disaster. I was trying to find a version kind of ice cream I wanted and the ice cream case was a mess, tags ripped off. I spent 10 minutes trying to navigate through all the mini cartons of ice cream trying to find what I wanted. I ended up just leaving. I tried to call Kroger to tell them that the corn was rotten and they may want to check the case and it just rings. I waited another 10 minutes and no answer. The pharmacy is NOT efficient at all. My 2 kids have the same prescription. Over the past year I call every month and go through both names and both prescriptions. I go to the store the next day and BAM they only fill one and tell me the other one wasn't. At least they eventually give me the right medicine so I am giving 2 stars. Do Better! read more

I've had my prescriptions filled here for almost 3 years with no issues. Last week I called to refill a script. The lady who answered the phone was at first very kind and soft spoken. After viewing my information and seeing the script I needed filled her attitude and the tone in her voice changed. She wouldn't fill my script that day and I had to wait until the following day to have it filled, which was a day late! I won't be going back here again!! Since my last review, I've had so many issues with rude personnel that I can't even stomach Kroger anymore. The store and its products are fine, but no amount of cost savings or delightful produce are worth paying to be treated poorly. Today put me over the edge when I said, "Pardon me, Sir" to a guy stocking yogurt. I had to reach by him to get what I needed. His response? A heavy sigh and rolling his eyes. This is my Kroger! Seriously, I'm probably in here about 5 times a week. Always clean and well stocked. Management is great too! Update: Breaking news (not really)!! This Kroger just finished up a huge remodel, most likely because there is a mega Meijer being constructed not 2 miles away. Ordering a cake online from the bakery was such an easy process! They have a "build your own" page and you get to decide all of the details -- type of icing and color, size, kind of cake, etc. You select when you pick it up and it's as easy as that. The birthday cake I ordered (marble with buttercream icing) was DELICIOUS, looked nice, and was extremely affordable. I really had to exercise my self control to not eat too much! The rest of the store is great too. I've never had any problems doing my shopping and it's always a good experience. read more

My favorite grocery store is definitely Kroger, but this location could use a little improvement. The parking lot is horrible to navigate and the layout doesn't make much sense with how it is connected to access State Road 40. Also, the checkout process here always seems to take forever because they don't have enough lanes. On the plus side they usually have a good meat selection at low prices and they have sushi made in the deli area around lunch time if you want something quick and healthy. read more

Very clean store, friendly staff and excellent savings. Much better than the Wabash location in Terre Haute. We were very impressed.

To begin with the location is great.... busy intersection but several ways to get in and out. Seldom are there very many carts on the lot... they are either in cart corrals or inside. Store is set up well ... perishable departments are fresh and well merchandised ... seldom is there a problem finding the weekly specials.... pricing on specials are usually equal to or lower than competitors. Front end personnel are friendly but there are times when more cashiers are needed. Pharmacy is very busy in no small part due to good pricing and a staff always wanting to help when possible. All in all the best place to shop for groceries and pharmacy needs in Plainfield read more
